"One of the oddest experiences. . . I picked Walker's Exchange due to their availability and walking distance to our show venue. Two out of our party arrived at our reservation time and were told to wait while they set up our table (restaurant was practically empty . We order drinks and apps but see no bar in the restaurant, kinda odd.. As we read the menu we notice a lot of misspellings. My drink was apparently called the “paper plane” although the menu read “paper pane” If this was a hole in the wall, cool, but a hotel restaurant can't bother to proofread their menu?!? One of our girlfriends ordered an Old Fashioned, specifically with Angel's Envy. About twenty minutes go by we see our waiter coming out of a kitchen door with our drinks. The waiter brings the Old Fashioned and says they didn't have Angel's Envy and before she could ask what bourbon they used he was gone (We're KY girls, particular about our bourbon ! The paper pane (that's what the menu said was DISGUSTING. I'm a cocktail kinda girl and don't mind a stiff drink, but this was unbearable. Had to send it back for a margarita that was almost as poorly made. Fast forward to the food . . .It's hard to mess up spinach and artichoke dip, but they somehow did. Our fried green tomatoes were served on a plate with butcher paper and the worst sauce slopped in the middle of the paper. At this point I didn't have any hope in our entrees. I will say though that my Wild Mushroom Orzo was decent (just way too many onions, and I love onions! . Two ordered steaks which turned out to be overcooked. The waiter asked if they'd like steak sauce and didn't bring it until 25-30 later when they'd had enough of their meal and after asking for it at least 3x. Turns out the wait staff was working another restaurant next door too (where the bar was ! Overall, food was subpar, waitstaff lacking, drinks disgusting. It's safe to say won't be back. One of the worst dining experiences I've had in Louisville."

"Blessed that the storm called Hurricane Barry in New Orleans ended up a non-event, we headed out for a Saturday night dinner. Very few places were open, but an old favorite, Royal China, was indeed open. When we walked in, the room was nearly full, and there were people waiting on takeout. Ms Shirley took us to a table, and we perused the menu. A young gent took our drink orders, and It was a good night to eliminate stress with a large hot sake. We ordered a series of appetizers, but with a bread shortage, shrimp toast was out, but shrimp rolls, paper shrimp, and coconut shrimp were in. All were excellent. We ordered the house combo fried rice, with plenty of shrimp, pork and chicken. We also ordered one entree for each of us, knowing there was going to be a fine leftovers dinner by Tuesday. I ordered Seafood in a Nest,Chinese vegetables stir-fried with jumbo shrimps, scallops and pecans in a mild sauce. Tasty with lovely presentation. My son ordered Hawaii Delight, Fresh jumbo shrimp, beef, chicken sauteed with fresh pineapple and vegetables. His nest was half a pineapple. Wife got her favorite, boneless fried chicken. We had enough space for a couple of almond cookies and fortune cookies. What made this special is how Ms Shirley and the young man handled the front desk and the entire room with grace and efficiency. I am unsure how many folks were manning the kitchen, but the taste, serving, and presentation was special especially given the worker shortage."
