"When we arrived the restaurant was nearly empty at 5:30 on a Friday evening. We were excited since we were seated at the corner table overlooking the water which was great. From there everything went downhill. The table was set on a dirty table. We needed to call the waiter to wipe the table. We ordered our meal (2 adults 2 kids). It is nice they have a kids menu. It took forever for the meals to be delivered. The adult meals were delivered then eventually the kids (should of been delivered all at the same time). Our son when he ordered his chicken tenders had requested barbecue sauce. The waiter when he finally delivered the chicken tenders stated he had to go downstairs to get the barbecue sauce which took another long time. Considering how slow the service was and he had not forgotten one would of thought he would of retrieved the barbecue sauce earlier and delivered all the meals together. The food itself was lackluster with little taste except heavily on the salt side. I would not suggest going to this restaurant unless you like the location and that they have a reasonable priced kids menu. If you expect decent food and service as well go someplace else. There are two restaurants at this location owned by the same company. The downstairs restaurant was far more crowded and might be better though it seemed to be more of a pubish type of place with a decent bar crowd. One last point the picture on OpenTable shows white tablecloths. The tables had no table cloths, they were basic low end restaurant tables. The site portrays a level of restaurant it is not"

"Happy Crab was the first place for food and drinks my husband and I encountered upon moving to Eastport. We liked the atmosphere and service, which made up for any less than awesome food experiences...until this evening. We arrived, and waited for half an hour for someone to come to our table (we were unfamiliar with this person, but maybe because we came on a different night than usual). It was obvious our server was covering some tables, plus the bar, so of course we gave them grace. I have worked in the service industry and empathize. We eventually got food and drinks. We were brought the bill that we were not ready for, at which time we requested more drinks. Those were brought along with the amended bill. We joked that they were trying to get us to leave. A little while later, we managed to flag down our server who had been to all the tables surrounding us, multiple times. We asked for more drinks and were told that if we wanted more, we needed to go to the bar to order them. A little caught off guard we kind of nodded, not sure what that was about. We thought maybe after a certain amount of time (on a Sunday evening), they stopped doing rounds to tables or something. Then we stayed for another half an hour watching all the tables around us continue to be fully served while we were ignored. I managed to catch our server's attention again to ask for more drinks and an appetizer. I was instructed to go to the bar to order. I asked why we were the only table that had to do that and was told that it was because we had been there for awhile and it was busy. This would have been a little more palatable if all the other tables had to do the same, which they did not. My plan was to continue date night with my husband, in a place we felt comfortable and happy. Instead, frustrated, I went to the bar to settle up. I was handed a bill with multiple errors that resulted in an extra $20 of charges that had to be addressed and corrected. We frequent this establishment weekly, tip generously, and usually look forward to coming back. Not so much after this."

"My wife and I decided to try the Lightfoot restaurant for the first time on our 16th wedding anniversary. We found it in a google search for fine dining in Northern Virginia and then one of our co-workers vouched for the restaurant. At the restaurant, we had to park at one of the free public parking areas in the rain less than half a mile away, but we didn't have a problem with that since we had an umbrella. We were greeted by a manager (we presume he was a manager since he was seen everywhere in the restaurant after he sat us down). The manager was personable with us as he sat us down and before he walked away from our table. He even came back by to check on us 2 more times before we left. We were serviced by the bartender who provided respectful customer service. The restaurant even gave us complimentary champagne (2 glasses) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We ordered appetizers (deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes with shrimp) and then our main entrees (Braised pork, shrimp and grits and organic buttermilk fried chicken). Then we shared a big ice cream sundae (they were out of the mint chocolate chip one, but we still enjoyed the regular ice cream sundae). The reason for 4 stars and not 5 stars was because my wife unfortunately did not enjoy her appetizer (fried green tomatoes with shrimp or her braised pork, shrimp and grits entree). Other than that, the experience was great at the Lightfoot restaurant from the greeting, the ambiance, the food and customer service."
