"We dine at TdB several times a year and generally with no issues. It was Father’s Day and they were VERY busy…but with a reservation at 6:30pm, we were not seated until 7:05pm. The host stand did not notify us they were running that far behind and seemed indifferent. Setting the expectation at check in could really reduce frustration for late seatings. Interestingly enough, a party with a reservation at 7:30pm was seated before us. Meats came quickly initially, but then we went close to 20 minutes without any service aside from water refills. Our server was not friendly and basically had us clear our own table. Considering the price, which I don’t mind paying, I expect to receive better service than Applebee’s. Hoping this was just an off night."

"My wife and I decided to celebrate our 13 year wedding anniversary lunch at Texas De Brazil. Unfortunately, it was a horrible experience. The food was definitely not fresh, the servers did not check in much and there was at least a 12 15 minute gap in between. We raised our concerns to the waiter/servers who apologized but didn't do much to address our complaint. I was really disappointed and it's still upsetting that a great day was spoiled with medicore service. My wife suggested to call and share our experience as we spent $100 but left hungry. Spoke to the manager (I believe his name is Robert) and explained the above he basically questioned why we waited a day to share our experience and proceeded to offer 15% off one dinner if we ever decide to come back. I am a loyal customer who was celebrating a special occasion. I've had numerous dinners and business lunches at this location to be questioned why my feedback was offered a day after my meal yet alone a 15% coupon. Maybe the servers had a meeting at the time we had lunch, or something happened in the back or the meat was still being prepared....it could have been one of many reasons but doesn't change that it did happen... "We were put in a back corner in front of a covered storage area and basically forgotten about. Unless staff had to access the storage room where we were asked to get up or scoot forward. We had a big party and the overall experience was not very good."

"The salad bar is amazing. The food would be amazing if you ever could get it. They servers started off just fine but the visits to our table got less and less until we had to ask for particular foods. It was so bad we never even were given a chance to enjoy the ribs. Our evening got started wrong when. I learned I could not even get a Bloody Mary. That is a pretty basic mixed drink. I have no issue with foreign servers but I really had a hard time understanding our server. Given we were spending $500 for the evening, I really would have expected things to be nicer. Success ruins the best of restaurants. Here is another prime example."

"The food was not good at all. All meat was well done. Even though I told them everything was overcooked and asked for meat not well done still they brought out well done meat. No pink in any of the steak. Couldn't even cut the pork because it was so hard and dried out. Chicken was also completely dried out. Service was also not good. Won't go back. "So it was my birthday to celebrate right off the back the front desk hostess ignored me and my friend ...then when we got seated in like a secluded area away from salad bar i asked if there was closer seat there they said they couldnt move me there was no room....two seconds later white couple next to us complained about seating and were moved closer to salad bar area no problem...on top of that bald wine guy just kep staring at me and made us feel uncomfortable feom far away....sat down our waitress Crystal was the best thing about our visit she made us feel warme and welcomed.Also food servers were amazing and nice. If not for Crystal, i wouldn't consider going back. She even offered to take my picture with my fiancee and friend, making this a great night for me. "If you're looking for a high end place to go out to eat to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or just a Friday night, Texas de Brazil is it! Their salad bar area has so many options for sides, veggies, etc. If you like steak, this is THE place to go. All of their meats are delicious, are served to you hot. Each person gets a little coaster that has a red side and a green side. If you want the gauchos to stop at your table to offer you the meat that they're serving, you turn the coaster to green. If you're ready to take a break and eat what you've got on your plate, you turn it to red and they won't bother you. They have a large variety of meats different cuts of beef, lamb, pork, chicken and they're all sliced for you right at the table. Everything is delicious. They do have a long list of wines, spirits, and cocktails as well. All of their desserts I've ever tried have been out of this world! I think the crème brulee is my favorite, but I also really like the Brazilian cheesecake, and had the chocolate mousse cake for the first time last night. I love going to this restaurant for special occasions!"

"Wow what a disappointment! As a Texas resident and huge fan from the one time we visited the Dallas restaurant I was excited to find a location in Carlsbad and introduce my family to the wonders of Texas de Brazil. Sadly it started poorly when the hostess refused to seat the 6 of us even after I told her my sister and nephew would be joining us in about 30 minutes. After contemplating a venue change she got her manager’s approval to accommodate us. So we sat and our waiter introduced himself and we asked for water. And then he disappeared for a while, brought us water, then disappeared. After about 15-20 minutes of sitting there I got up and went looking for him to ask if anyone was going to help us and when do we get food. He apologized and said he thought we had been there before because he spoke to my 13 year old autistic son who all are toy told him we had? So I was informed we just needed to go grab plates from the salad bar are to get started. Good to know after sitting around for 20 minutes. Then once we sat there for another 10 minutes the first offering of meat came out. Finally! Only it was well done and not the best intro to what I believe is good quality meat. We would finish our meat and be waiting for a good several to 5 minutes before another offering. It seemed much slower than what I remembered from a previous experience. Once every 5-7 minutes? We definitely were not overwhelmed with food and pretty much ate the entire time. My son and I never turned over our green token and yet got skipped on a couple occasions. Seems like green/red tokens didn’t really matter. We arrived at 7:15 but my 9:30 I had to ask our waiter to bring the check because we had a movie at 10. I asked him how dessert works because I saw other servers going around with a big plate. He just pointed the dessert bar behind me and listed all the desserts and offered to make it to-go. So I ordered one but was surprised to find a charge on my bill! That was never explained to me!"

"I come here often to celebrate special occasions or when I want to indulge in the different cuts of meat Texas De Brazil offers. Our server, Tubijik was amazing. She was attentive and ensured the cuts of meat we desired came to our table. We also got a pitcher of lime Caipirinha. The pitcher can certainly ensure a party of 4 can have refills or more. One of my favorite items from the salad area was the, Pineapple Carpaccio. It was very good. We ended the night with dessert. Overall for a Sunday afternoon, the food was hot fresh and ambiance was perfect to celebrate my dear friends birthday. You will not be disappointed."

"texas de Brazil Tampa is one of my favorite restaurants. All the different types of meat and how prepared is excellent. Never waiting on food as the servers are constantly coming to the table with offerings. The management comes to your table to ensure you are happy with the food and service. New offering with selected red wine where they take 1/2 of the bottle and make a great sangria and you can have the other 1/2 to make more sangria, have a glasses of wine or take home. The kitchen master is awesome and came to the table to discuss how meat is prepared an if everything is prefect. It is!"

"I had a reservation at 12:15pm arrived early was promptly seated. It was 25 minutes no gaucho had come to offer any meat. My server came to refill my glass I asked when they would be around to offer meat. The server apologized said he would go see what the issue was. A server came by shortly after dropped off an absolute burnt piece of meat. I advised the server that I had requested medium well the meat on the plate was past well done. Again, he apologizes leaves to go ask for meat prepared to my preference. The manager comes to the table states that she is sorry for the service the meat should be out momentarily. The came out again it was cooked to death, dry burnt. I was beyond mad at this point. The server came to my table I requested my check. He again apologized. The manager brings my check to the table says she took 10% off for the poor service. I show her the burnt meat that was dropped off to me she apologizes says “a couple of people are going to get written up for this”. So i paid almost $60 for a coke, some rice, 2 sausages. Horrible dinning experience is a massive understatement. A total waste of my time my hard earned money."

"Having been to Texas de Brasil before and many chuchasterias in Brazil, I knew what to expect. Salad bar was great. Meats and even shrimp was awesome! We were rather early on a Friday night and only a few tables were full. Unfortunately we were seated right next to the servers station where it was loud and busy. We asked to move tables (there were many many open) and were told no. Meats were delivered fast and furiously. "My husband and I came in as a walk in they couldn’t seat us because we didn’t have reservations so they told us we would have to wait for a no show which could take 15 minutes or more. Kool we waited the 15 mins I go online to see there was a reservation for 12:30 so I reserved that spot the time came and we was seated before the waitlist. I was irritated because I wish they would have gave us that option before just turning us away. This is not a good place for people that like there steaks well done all the meat comes out **** we were grossed out however our server was very friendly and helpful and that was greatly appreciated."

"We have been here at this location for many occasions and always enjoy it. This time we were there with our two year old toddler and really enjoyed it. They gave us booster and high chair options as soon as we walked up to our table. The service was wonderful and a manager walked to our table making sure they are aware of our preferences. "Every thing was great at this location. I took off one star because for some reason they have a fruit fly issue. This was the second time I noticed them. It wasn’t as bad as it was in the warmer weather when we went. The place is super clean so they must be coming out of the plumbing? "We always come here for my daughter and mines birthday. This year wasn't as dynamic. The food was extremely salty. The meats were dry and there was a lot more chicken offerings and Parmesan coated meats than the usual melt in my mouth beef. There was still amazing flank and New York steak cuts. But sadly my entire family woke up extremely thirsty all night long. And my daughters spent the next day home from school with stomach issues. because their bodies aren't used to the sodium levels. I know this was a Sunday evening, and our waiter was greeeeen. He was trying to learn the ropes, but we had to keep asking for water. The management team is always super nice, and we did not bring up issues with them. We decided it was a good chance for our server to learn the ropes and chalk this up to a one time issue. Aside from our recent experience we've always loved coming here."

"Very disappointed. We had really been looking forward to this as it was several months in the making due to a previous forced cancellation. Everyone we knew raved about it, but it was not good and not nearly worth the money. We are not picky as my children like Outback and the Olive Garden to give you an idea. The salad bar was lacking. It was missing the sushi which my daughter was looking forward to as it is prominently displayed on the website. The sides were served slowly with small portions that we had to request more multiple times. The beans were watery like soup. Our table was broken and wobbled any time someone touched it. We were told there was a dress code and had our children dress up. We were the only ones. I saw shorts, sneaker, sandles, overalls. Anything goes wardrobes. The meat. It was very slow to come around. So much so that we had to ask for most of the choices we were looking forward to. If we had not spent time on the website discussing with excitement what we wanted to try, we would have missed out on at least 1/2 of the options. Once we asked, as we knew the selections by memory, those items came out once. -The filet mignon was maybe the worst I have had at a restaurant. It was very chewy. I did not finish the 2 small pieces I had. -The drummets had pieces of bone or hard bits breaking off into our mouths. -The mashed potatoes were ok although how they were served, they got cold very quickly. Served as a thin layer on a mini platter. Served in a bowl or deep dish would keep them warmer. -The french fries may have been the best thing there. There was no food there that we would ever want to have again. The women's restroom had 3 stalls. 2 did not have locks on them. When we were seated at the table, there were so many items and glasses that there was no room to put our hands down. Even the little red/green cards did not matter. My children (teenagers) we excited about that but it did not matter what side we had turned up."

"I visited this restaurant on Mother's Day and was disappointed with the quality of service, which was not up to my usual standards. The restaurant was also noisier than usual, likely due to the holiday. Plastic tables with table cloths had to be brought in to accommodate more customers. My party of six was seated at one of these tables, which was not very stable and constantly needed to be readjusted whenever someone moved. Despite these issues, I had a generally positive experience and will likely return in the future, but probably not on a holiday."

"We have been to this restaurant many times and seen others get bad service. This time, it was our turn and it was pretty bad. I reserved a table for for my birthday. I was hosting the party. The staff essentially ignored my requests and wishes, concentrating their attention on the far end of the table. My end of the table had trouble getting served food. Waiters would serve the far end of the table, then divert themselves to the table next to us rather than continue down the line to serve us. We had to ask for a particular cut of meat literally about times before it was finally served. We were there an extra minutes or so just trying to get food at our side of the table. We never got clean plates for the main course, instead being forced to use our salad plates. I was not asked about what side dishes we wanted, even though I was hosting the party. We did not get spoons for our desserts (who eats ice cream with a fork until we complained. I had explicitly told the waiter to bring me the bill, but she gave it someone else instead. I had to mail them a check this morning. The level of disrespect was palpable. Since I have seen this happen to others at this restaurant, it will be a while before I am willing to go back. Food is great, but service can be a nightmare sometimes."
