"i have been a solo tea tootler stop off for onion soup and potato skins for many years. Actually from the time Craig opened the place, my late brother in law and I would meet there.Today I choose to stop mid afternoon and yes, you guessed it and i did order the usual, plus ice tea.Not busy. a quick in and out ...right? There was absolutely no one in the dining area ..then it was no one but me and two waitresses..and maybe 6 or 8 folks at best at the bar. A timid newbie waitress took my small simple order.I waited and waited and waited did get finally get a glass of what was supposedly to be the newly brewed I was told ice tea tthat I ordered..tasted it and at first thought it was just cloudy water maybe but sadly it turned out to be more like colored water. I got her attention finally..she was buzzing, chatting with the other watness who also had nothing to do; ,my very.timid waitress did however promptly replaced it with anothrer replacement drink that didnt have to be created here a sprite like soft drink..Ok Ok..But still no food, in sight?? I waited patiently some more and finally called her over from her deep chat with waitress number two..Wheres is my food order? Her reply? ..she replied it not ready yet when asked where is my food??? Really? tough order to fill I guess very complex, right? Finally I called her again after much too long of additional wait and said simply just make it to go..finally tyhen later still did get it in a bag to go paid by card added 20% tip Im not sure why! and left.. when home I found I had bought the very very sad looking order indeed..the sad remainders of very very sad very tiny small scribbled up potatoes just slyly larger than a singular typical size French fry and tough, yes tough to eat too..enough to be mostly were barely eatable.Craig would be roiling over in his grave..Yes tiz sad when the otherwise greatship went down. Yes and yes! Understand what covie did to everything food and hospitality industry..and mom and pops particully. But other mom and pops cooks still cook fairly well and timely meals even if buzy..Tiz sad when the great ship went down.Still wonder why you cant even fine may onions in the brothie soup and why its so difficult to do potato's al la simply potato skins in a reasonably timely with no one in the place eating? "east coast ingenial. eating here today was one of the best culinary surprises I had for a long time. the decoration of the place is very east coast of fiiliale cut off from ital and randomly with baseball, military and police and fire pics, along with sport toys and the always present picture of tony soprano, al pacino, all the godfather occupation and many other Italian icons scream. many places try to copy this, but it simply comes as a cheesy. this place gives the very authentic feeling. it brings me back to some of my favorite places in baltimore, philly, providence or even north jersey. now the important part that eat. I will first throw out the fact that I didn't try the pizza. I feel like you do that, it's juicy to pass on the dead for the first time when I dive here, but I wanted pasta. I had the fetuciini cosa nostra. this is a wet, thin sauce with fresh tomato-choed, basilikum and garlic. That was so damn good. the basilikum was very forward with hard tastes of the tomatoes and made the garlic subtle and background music, but made it noticeable. it was so good. it could have been made before an hour in my garden. remember that this is not a Tuscan or Sicilian style. this is a new York/New jersey pizza and pasta shopfront. they make a lot of their own ingredients, but it is not artisan inspired cuisine this is just up gravy and makkaroni, which are so hard to find past I-95. I'll update this as soon as I have the pizza. the only change that I would make is the music. You need classic rock on such a location floyd, boston, eddie money or, I dare to say, travel."
