"We have been going to the Tower of the Americas for our anniversary celebration every year since Once Landry took over the restaurant, the food has been going downhill. Admittedly, the main reason for our dining is the ambiance of the experience. The view is spectacular. This year, our Anniversary, we once again went to the Tower and Charthouse restaurant. Ever since Landrys took over the food has been sub par but we took the chance again this year. Suffice it to say, for a parking fee, a tasteless fried shrimp with noodle entree and an ABSOLUTELY RAW New York strip priced at a chopped salad at and a Ceaser salad at after years we will not be going back ever again. To add insult to injury, as per our custom over the last years we wanted to go to the observation deck to celebrate where I asked my wife to marry me back in To my surprise, after years and spending on a dinner, we were informed that it would be an ADDITIONAL EACH to go to the observation deck. We were NEVER informed of this ridiculous charge beforehand…bear in mind, we had already paid to park and eat. We were one story below the observation deck. But we were told that unless we paid an additional each we were not allowed to go up. Our anniversary dinner was ruined due to the greed of Charthouse. The food was horrible…in fact inedible. I did call and leave a message for the general manager of the Charthouse to attempt to address our concerns but of course I never received a return call. After years, we will NEVER EVER return to this disgrace of a restaurant. The owners and managers of this atrocity should be ashamed of themselves. If you detect that I am angry you are correct…the one night a year that my wife and I splurge on a dinner for our anniversary was completely ruined by the inedible food and greedy proprietors. We will NEVER go to this restaurant EVER AGAIN. Beware….dine here at your peril."

"We almost left the restaurant at first. My husband took me out on a date for our very first time at STH, and it was a Saturday night. We were told there would be a 20-minute wait, but it ended up being just 15 minutes. After being seated, we noticed the waitstaff cleaning crumbs from tables onto the floor and chairs. We waited... and waited... and waited. Nearly 20 minutes passed with no service. My husband and I exchanged puzzled glances, wondering what was going on. He eventually spoke to Noah, the front of house manager. Meanwhile, waitresses were attending to tables next to us and behind us, but no one even acknowledged us. To add context, my husband has years of experience as a manager for Darden Restaurants, so he knows the ins and outs of the business. We were definitely unimpressed, because service is crucial! The server who overlooked us missed out on a potential 30% tip. Noah eventually approached our table, apologized, and took our drink and food orders. We had enough time to review the menu thoroughly, so I appreciated that he would be our server for the evening. He engaged us in great conversation and made sure our meals were fantastic. He truly made up for the earlier misstep! When our food arrived, it was hot and delicious. We started with the Canyon crab flatbread appetizer, which was delightful. I ordered the Roman parmesan-crusted chicken topped with mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and basil over mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. My husband opted for the Crab Stuffed Shrimp and the French Quarter dish. I couldn’t resist trying some of his crab-stuffed shrimp with the spinach, and wow, it was superb! Noah checked in on us to see how everything tasted, and I told him my food was good, but my husband's dish was even better. He graciously brought me a few crab-stuffed shrimp on the house, and they were absolutely delicious! By the end of our meal, we were stuffed. Before we finished, Noah asked if we wanted dessert. My husband and I exchanged glances because we were incredibly full. Noah then shared a lovely story about his grandmother’s famous carrot cake, which made us rethink our decision..."
