"It takes a little work to find the alleyway entrance to Volstead's, marked only by a dim, red light in the window over a metal door. Once inside though, it's all easy... Or maybe I should say speakeasy. We were led by our host to a phone booth at the back of the room. A panel of the booth swung open and we passed through into a cozy private room to celebrate our friend's birthday. The service was excellent. Professional yet friendly, and very knowledgeable about the extensive cocktail list. I had the Pollinator, a bright gin based treat resulting from some serious mixology. I'll pass on the fall salad on my next visit, but the cheeseburger was a pleasant surprise. Simple, but very satisfying juicy and cheesy with pickles and sauce all in the right proportions. Very tasty. The lemon bar pie was also outstanding. The beer list here is short with only three taps (it is a speakeasy after all), and you won't find french fries or coffee on the menu. Order up a cocktail and some tasty vittles, and you won't miss them one bit."
