"My girlfriend and I literally just returned from a wonderful trip to Tuscany. While there we visited a gorgeous vineyard called ‘Vecchie Terre di Montefili’ in Greve, Chianti. We tasted Several outstanding Chianti wines and purchased several bottles to take home. During our stay we were introduced To the winemaker Who told us that they run to restaurants right in our backyard; ‘I Trulli’ and ‘Ristoro Del Cinghiale’, Right in our backyard in the Flatiron district. Since we had such an amazing experience at the Vineyard, I thought it would be great to continue our Tuscan vacation back home in New York City. What a treat! Both restaurants are literally side-by-side to one another and worth the trip! The food was outstanding, with the pasta being freshly made in house And the wine directly from their vineyard in Chianti. Being that I had had my fill of pasta personally, I tried the Chicken under brick, which was incredibly succulent and delightfully seasoned and cooked in their brick oven. My girlfriend had the pasta Bolognese which was a delight as well. This is a fantastic spot for a date night if not for every day dining. Do yourself a favor and go!"

I think this place has fantastic potential. The food was very good but not exceptional. I really like the menu, wine list and atmosphere. This place has its own Negroni menu! Overall, too much salt. Everything was too salty. I will, however, go back because I love wild boar and I love the concept of this restaurant.

The first time we ate here, we had a great experience. This time was different. The menu was funkier, and one of our entrees arrived with spices/heat that the menu description had in no way indicated. Although we got there quite early, the kitchen was very slow. Not sure if they burned something and had to start over. View menu

we (group of 4) had prosciutto di cinghiale, funghi fritti and a pork-terrine of the species. then to divide pastas, all well. and finally the rack of boar, kartoffeln and cannellini. perfect, we were back in the toskana (or garfagnana, even better.) great montefilli chianti. biscotti and vin santo brilliant. bravissimo!

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
