"I stopped by Mai 's because I was craving some imperial rolls over some vermicelli noodles. From this single experience and from ordering this single dish, I have a few thoughts. Mai 's is a quaint and unassuming restaurant it has a very old school feel inside which is common amongst restaurants along Clement. The service was good and the food was prepared in a timely manner. I had the imperial roll and bbq chicken over rice noodle plate, which came with a single fried imperial roll, pickled carrot/veg and bean sprouts all over a generous serving of chicken and noodles. The imperial roll was okay. I thought it tasted good, but the meat inside felt dense and very homogeneous. The chicken tasted great, especially with the sauce that the plate comes with. I think if the imperial roll was just a bit better quality, I would have loved it. However, I was a bit underwhelmed. It seems like other people have had better experiences with other dishes here, so I am looking forward to being back at Mai 's to try out something different."

"I've tried a lot of pho in Seattle and by far this is my favorite spot. The service is great! They aren't constantly checking on you while your mouth is full lol they come when your water gets low which I prefer. The chefs, from what I've seen are all women and I love that; they're also the sweetest ladies if you get the time to just share some words with them. The vibe in the restaurant is very relaxed- this place is literally like my decompressor/safe space. Consistency is key, and this pho taste exactly the same every single time. I'm never disappointed here.ALSO FREE PARKING! Cannot beat that lol"

"A 5-Star review, for 5 Stars Pho Restaurant. BRAVO! Well there I was, about to try their food when I was already thinking of leaving them a 5-star review! First of all, the service was excellent! My server was Abby, she helped me understand menu item differences without any problems, she was very helpful and eager to explain everything, she took her time, and made sure I understood. I also met another server named John, he was very pleasant to talk to as well. And then there was Blake, he hooked me up with extra sweet and sour sauce after I asked him for some. All in all they were all great and helpful in every way, all smiles there! Secondly, the food was fresh, clean, and delicious! So I had the Rice Noodles Soup, paired with their Summer Rolls, which came with the peanut sauce but I asked for sweet sour sauce for the Summer Rolls and it was delicious! The rice noodle soup comes with the sprouts and basil and lemon and jalapeno...all fresh ingredients to add to your soup. I like it spicy, so I even added their chili garlic sauce...oooooh I was sweating, and loving it!!! I've been to 2 other Pho places, one in Riverside, and one in Orange County, but this one here has better tasting food, and as I said, great service. Thank you everyone for making my experience a wonderful one, I will be back, as my favorite go to place for Pho from now on! Oh, I didnt't snap any pics, but I will be doing so on my very next visit. "First time coming here. I got a pork bahnmi (sandwich) and it was おいしい, masarap aka very delicious. The meat was flavorful and not dry. The bread was good outside crusty but still moist on the inside. It was a big sandwich too, I had enough to share.. but everyone gobbled it up super quick and I was happy with half. I also got fish balls which I haven't ate since I was in the Philippines. They're not the super chewy kind then we're of the soft pillowy kind but you have to ask for and pay for the sauce. I'll be coming back for more pain meds and I'm looking forward to trying their lemongrass dishes and Curry's. I'm excited that there's finally between sandwiches on my side of town"

"This place only seems to continually decline when it comes to anything they had remotely positive.As my previous review mentioned, the customer service here can be awful at times. So awful that I pretty much vowed to refrain from dining in because I wanted to avoid any chances of me causing a scene and snapping. My family decided to order Vung Tau for dinner last night. Our order consisted of:-Combination Chow Fun-Hu Tieu Dai Ba Nam [kho]-Hu Tieu Ba Nam [nuoc]-Grilled Pork Prawn Vermicelli Noodles-Egg Noodle Soup w/ Prawn Pork-Egg Rice Noodle Soup w/ Prawn PorkFirst thing we noticed was how shady VT was with the veggies provided. Four LARGE bowls of noodle soup ordered and plastic pouch of veggies wasn 't even halfway filled. Food portions are just as stingy- no way would those large servings fly at any other normal restaurant. The chow fun was the worst hu tieu xao we had ever purchased- noodles were pale white, no sautéing in any shape or form. The noodles were also hard and clearly not fresh. 1 star because Vung Tau nickel dimes you. They skimp at every chance they get and the prices charges are not justified in what is actually being provided to you. How disappointing..."

"The food here is absolutely delightful! Out of curiosity, I've tried nearly everything on the menu. The staff is very friendly with my children, and they really enjoy the fish tank. There are a couple of TVs for those who like to watch something while dining, but I personally prefer to spend my time chatting with my partner. While it is a bit pricey, it's definitely worth it. This restaurant is located by McPherson and Del Mar in the HEB shopping center on the east side."

"My sister and I truly enjoyed our visit to this very nice restaurant. We got the spring rolls and  fried egg rolls. Yummy for both. I also had the Pho Tai Chin which was perfect. The broth was very flavorful and had a clean edge and the fresh limes,  fresh basil, bean sprouts and other leafy greens were a great pairing for the rare steak, lean brisket and vegetables in the dish. The restaurant itself is airy and clean. There are large front windows and lots of natural light. Everyone is seated at roomy tables, which you need due to the wealth of food and condiments you are served. Our wait staff was great and our server was cheerful and patient and our every wish was her command. Even the cashier was pleasant. Did I mention that the price was right. It was my sister's treat. The tab though was very reasonable. As you know Pho is served in large bowls that contain a lot of food. I could not eat the whole thing and was offered a good size tub to take my uneaten leftovers home where I am happy to say they were a delicious meal, warmed in my microwave. If you are in Uptown, this is a wonderful place to eat. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did."

"Delicious, great and secret atmosphere! Pho 89 was a great place to get dinner and pick up with my friend (without making the choice of a place too beautiful)! The menu was like other Vietnamese places (big, a great variety, affordable prices) but there were some special things my eye fought like roast duck and various soup options. The soup was rich and light, vegetables were crisp and fresh, and meat and needles were abundant. I can't complain! We have the popcorn chicken to share it. I have the special combo noodle soup that was amazing. Servers were friendly, location was convenient, and the dining room was busy, but comfortable. I'll be back soon when I'm in the area."

"This is my first time back since covid.I got there late, and the new man at the register informing me that they are about to close. I asked if I could get carryout instead, and he took my order. Business has not been as good for this restaurant and others because he said that peoole working in the area are teleworking. Please go out and support the small businesses, or we will miss them when they are gone. Large corporations have politicians taking care of them, and small businesses don't. The pho was good, but the broth was not rich in flavor as I remembered. The Spring roll was good. One of my dogs stared at it long enough, and for the first time, she helped herself. Lol. She ate the whole Spring roll. She also had some chicken for the pho. 3 years ago...I ate at this restaurant tonight for the first time. My first impression was that it has quite a number of customers dining in this restaurant on a Friday night. The restaurant appears to be very clean, and I found out that they have been around for 5 years. The restaurant looks fairly new. They have a nice selection of dishes for a Pho restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Pho, and to my surprise, they gave me plenty of chicken. I love that the chicken pho was served with 2 sauces and the standard veggie tray with bean sprouts, jalapeno pepper, basil and lime. I really enjoy the 2 sauces: one tasted like ginger and the other might be garlic/onion with a little spicy flavor. I never had these sauces before. They made the chicken slices tasted yummy. The pho was delicious. Everything totalled to about $35 plus tips. I ordered some Spring Rolls and an order of Rice with Grilled Lemongrass Chicken to go. The Spring Rolls are supersized comparing to the standard Vietnamese Spring Rolls. They are very crispy, which I love. They are also not rolled up tight like the standard Spring Rolls. They were delicious. The Grilled Lemongrass Chicken was good, too. The waiter was very nice, and the service was fast. Food is delicious. I will definitely come back again."

"There are only two pho restaurants in Vancouver that I truly enjoy, and Pho Star is one of them. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food is delicious. I love their pho, bun bo hue, and mi quang. The chicken salad is also quite tasty. During our recent visit around 7:30 PM, we thought they closed at 9 PM, but they were actually preparing to close at 8 PM. When I mentioned I would just get my order to go, the waitress encouraged me to stay and enjoy my meal there. I always feel a bit guilty entering a restaurant close to closing time, but she was so warm and welcoming, explaining that pho is much better when eaten fresh rather than as takeout."

"There is one server here who is lousy. The people who came in when I did had their drinks and had given their orders before I was ever noticed. "Wonderful gem because of the service, quality of food, and cleanliness of the restaurant. I always get the #8 pho because I want all the goodies, but only for the adventurous (tripe, tendon, raw beef). I didn't need the large so come with a big appetite if you venture there. You really know a place is authentic when you see a large crowd of Vietnamese people waiting to be seated. The atmosphere of the restaurant is reminiscent of an open cafeteria, with some large tables and basic chairs. However, the flavor of the food was outstanding and truly authentic. The prices are also very reasonable. Keep in mind that there's only street parking available. "We were looking for a good pho place to go to after going to the Santa Ana zoo. This place was very close so we decided to give it a try. I was absolutely disappointing and the dishes that I got. I got bun Bo hue and banh xeo. Both these dishes did not have any flavor to them! They were super Bland. My son had gotten the. Pho special and he really enjoyed that. I try some of the broth and at least that was decent.The service was really nice. They were quick to give us our food. They had a lot of tables and we noticed that a lot of people also enjoyed their food. I would definitely not go back."

"The restaurant had a spacious, pleasant, and clean atmosphere. The pho was just okay—not particularly remarkable, but rather average. The broth was a bit on the salty side for my taste. I also found the portion of noodles to be excessive, and I struggled to finish it all. The noodles were slightly overcooked and broke apart easily when I tried to lift them with chopsticks, which I'm not a fan of. On a positive note, the coconut water was quite good and really refreshing after the salty soup."

UPDATE: 3/2021: Since I moved out of the area, I hadn't visited this restaurant much, I went regularly when John ran the place). Well, I decided to order takeout and found that it was under new ownership. How would they measure up? First visit I ordered Grilled Pork Bun extra fish sauce). It was INCREDIBLE! So flavorful and it had the crispy garlic chips that I love. Tonight, I tried the Chow Fun w/Chicken and Prawns. It wasn't the chow fun noodles that I was used to, but the substituted vermicelli was excellent. Al dente carrots, broccoli and cabbage. Perfectly cooked chicken and Prawns. I will visit here, every time that I am in town. Oh, and the servings are very healthy. I usually have leftovers."

"Went there yesterday, because my favorite place Kong's was closed unexpectedly. What a disappointment. First and foremost, this place should be ashamed of themselves because of how dirty it is. Water stains on the walls, condiment bottles just fifthly and even the tables were sticky and gross. The food was actually pretty good tasting, however what came after is clearly an indication on how dirty their kitchen must be. I got sick within a few hours. I couldn't keep food in for the rest of the day. The one star was for the young man who really gave us great service. This place needs to be inspected by the health department immediately. Consumer beware"
