I am so sad to hear that Vung Tau is closing down! This has been my family's favorite Vietnamese restaurant for 20 years. The food has always been great and I'm really surprised that they are closing down. I can only hope that they change their mind and don't close down.

This is the last Vung Tau left in the bay area and the landlord is trying to raise the rent on them but they are still around hopefully for the long run.Food is good every time I go here and the owner is very friendly. Please continue to support them during this time so we can keep them around.

Jan or host was the sweetest! All her suggestions were so perfect! Jan, our host, was absolutely delightful! Her recommendations were spot on, and she was incredibly generous in explaining the various dishes. She even customized some meals for us, allowing us to sample their best offerings. I will definitely return to experience their impressive array of authentic Vietnamese cuisine! The staff was very friendly, and it was a wonderful place to dine with delicious food. The icing on the cake is that it’s a family-run restaurant featuring recipes passed down through generations.

Went around closing time ~7:50pm and they still let us sit and were very sweet! I decided to go for the 25, the soup with fish in it. They unfortunately do not have pho or many red meat options which was disappointing. We got tea with our meal. The food came out very fast and the food was alright. The fish pieces were very soft and tasty and the soup was flavorful with the noodles. However, the portions were very small compared to the price point but it was overall a decent food experience.The service was great though and it was nice seating.

The food also took a long time to arrive, although it was good once we finally got it. It seemed like they prioritized takeout orders over ours. We requested two separate checks, but the waiter merely shrugged in response. When our bill finally arrived, it was combined. We had to go to the cashier to ask her to split it up for us. This wasn’t due to a language barrier since I communicated with the waiter in Vietnamese. As for vegetarian options, my husband ordered a vegetarian curry that turned out to be white instead of yellow. My husband and I went to have a casual lunch at this place. We were pleasantly surprised by our host Jan. The menu had several traditional Vietnamese dishes which we have not tried before. Jan was so passionate and helped us decide what to get. She even custom ordered a noodle bowl with half/half grilled onion beef and grilled pork when we couldn't decide between the two. We also got a rice bowl with lemongrass chicken which was so flavorful. This place only seems to continually decline when it comes to anything they had remotely positive.As my previous review mentioned, the customer service here can be awful at times.
