"Went out to eat with my parents at Shanghai Delight in Milpitas. They have some good and other decent dishes. We ordered the Braised pork with preserved vegetables, salt and pepper pork chop, Steamed Fish in chili oil, Xiao Long Bao, and sliced beef in chili sauce. The braised pork is a little bit sweeter which I've had many where this is their style. It's still really good and tender, the steamed fish, literally just melts like butter tender in your mouth. If you aren't familiar with sichuan pepper, it kind of has a numbing effect while you eat the fish. The salt and pepper pork chop was a bit on the salty side, so if your palette is more on that side you will really enjoy it. It was cooked really well and very tender and juicy pork chops. The xiao long bao's dough or wrapping was a bit thick and the meat filling was ok. Lots of great dishes to try here. It someplace we have come back for multiple times. #thisishowichow #omnomnom #braisedpork #steamedfish #xiaolongbao #porkchop"

The dish is big portion but the taste is so so, which don’t look like pictures posted on the restaurant door.

A true solidly good Shanghai-style resto-canteen with a really good menu. Love this mall as well! Food is also solid yumm and served piping hot.

Food tasty, price is right! Authentic Shanghai style. Went several times after first review. Still my favorite restaurant. But do not recommend the starters. View menu

Great combo selection, I am surprised about the portion size, good for 3-4 people, 3 dishes with 1 soup and 2 rice combo for $40. Food itself is good authentic Shanghai dish, will definitely visit again.

Best “cai fan” and “ching cao sha ren” I’ve had this far in Silicon Valley. The cai fan could do with a little less salt, but super yummy! Yushang eggplant was soaking in a icky sauce. Malantou dougang portion was severely sparse.

I ordered several items, but unfortunately, the Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables did not meet my expectations. The pork had a texture similar to cardboard or tree bark, and the preserved vegetables were just as tough—they hadn't removed the tough parts from them before cooking. I cannot recommend this dish. Shanghai Restaurant in Milpitas offers fantastic food at very reasonable prices. You definitely need to try their beef noodle soup—it's a generous portion that's well worth the price and absolutely delicious. They also serve a crispy chow mein that usually comes with seafood, but you can substitute it with chicken, pork, or shrimp if you prefer.

This is a fantastic place for delicious Shanghainese cuisine! I visited with a large group of coworkers for a weekday lunch, and the staff was very accommodating, even on short notice. The food came out quickly, and everything we tried was flavorful. A few standout dishes for me were the fish filet, fried tofu, and the lion's head meatballs. I would definitely return here to satisfy my cravings for nostalgic Chinese food!

"I always go to this store as we live closeby. I always love to bring my kids in this store, and have them order their food. Yesterday, I went with my 3 yr old son (his bday) coz he wants a cake pop. I let him call the barista so she knows we're ready to order. My son said excuse me like 5 times, said hello like 3 times to get her attention coz she's talking with her coworker. She finally came up to us, my son ordered cakepops, I ordered 2 java chips and 1 mocha frappe. The baristas before were soooo nice, very friendly, welcoming but yesterday was the opposite. Btw, always sip a bit of your drinks before you leave the store coz yesterday I guess the barista who made the mocha frappe forgot to put in sugar syrup. I just found it today as my husband didn't drink his mocha frappe yesterday. Coz what if you just stopped by to get some drinks and you already left then found out something is wrong with your order. And also, they do not offer Java Chip anymore, so you gotta pay additional for the chips. The barista didn't even inform me about it, found out today when I checked the receipt online. I called in to let them know about my concerns, they offered to remake the mocha frappe. The barista who made our drinks was the one who took our order. Maybe she had a bad day. But then, I just wish the baristas will be more friendly and welcoming and inform the customer if a menu is no longer available so we have the option to change our order. "First time to Koi Palace in Milpitas, though had dined at their location in Daly City decades ago. Very disappointing.. It's on a Monday around noon, and the place was pretty filled up. The service was lousy, starting from the receptionist who practically saw us but totally ignored us, even after my husband kindly waving his hand to him in order to catch his attention. After seated, though some servers had been going back forth by our table but none would look up, stop and talked to us. Of course we had to wait for a while before being served, minimally. The 18% mandatory tip charge to the customers was totally undeserved due to the lack of acceptable, good service to their customers. We have been to a few similar restaurants (in terms of foods class) in the Peninsula area where mandatory 18% tip charge are imposed but they do provide very good service consistently to their customers. We primarily came to eat at this restaurant for their well-known dim sum and its variety. Foods served were disappointing, unfortunately, considering their high-priced tags. Siu Mai 燒賣 were not fresh; skins were tough and the meat hard to chew. Shrimp dumblings or Ha Gow 蝦餃 were okay. Tofu rolls 鮮竹卷 were acceptable. The Budda's Delight vegetarian noodles 羅漢齋麵 was made up of a large portion of noodles but only few vegetable ingredients, not worth the $24. Adding to the noise level of the place due to crowded tables (very close to each other) when it's busy, it's definitely not a pleasant dining experience at all.. Do not plan to return.."
