"A local business and a family favorite, you can never beat the feeling of community like Los Potros. I went with my partner’s family on a Saturday night, and there was just enough space to seat everybody. I was told that this was their all-time favorite restaurant, compared to the other two Mexican taquerias (Jorge’s and La Mexicana), so I had to experience it for myself. We began our meal with a refreshing glass of horchata. The quality was impeccable, capturing the perfect balance of sweetness and spice — it wasn’t too sweet neither was it too watered down. It tasted really creamy and rich, and the cinnamon-infused flavor were a testament to the care and traditional methods likely were used. It was the ideal accompaniment, setting a delightful foundation for the rest of our culinary journey. The camarón a la plancha, which was my main dish, was presented with artistic flair, exemplifying sufficient plating that was both appetizing and aesthetically pleasing. Each seafood element was grilled to perfection, offering a delightful medley of textures and flavors that danced on our palates. The slight char from the grill enhanced the natural sweetness of the shrimp honestly, making each bite a flavor-packed experience. A key highlight of our meal was the tortillas—both corn and flour. The tenderness of the tortillas was noteworthy, likely crafted in-house with attention to authenticity and freshness. The corn tortillas were soft and subtly sweet, complementing the savory dishes perfectly, while the flour tortillas were equally tender, providing a light and pliable option to accompany the meal. The cleanliness of the restaurant was impeccable, reflecting a high standard of care and consideration for their patrons. Each table was spotless, and the ambience was calming and inviting. This attention to detail extended beyond the immediate dining area, imbuing a sense of safety and comfort that underpinned our entire experience. Overall, not only did we enjoy a delicious meal, but the environment and service collectively ensured that our visit was memorable. It was evident that this establishment takes pride in offering not just good food, but a comprehensive dining experience for everyone."

"**Quality:** The food was solid, and the drinks were delightful. I sampled two margaritas: the Spicy Mango Margarita and the Habanero Cucumber Margarita. Both were enjoyable, but the Habanero Cucumber Margarita offered a particularly unique and delicious flavor combination. For appetizers, the Steak Nachos were fantastic; I appreciated how they were layered to ensure every bite was packed with flavor. The Carnitas Burrito was okay, but it was the least impressive dish as it was a bit bland. On the other hand, the Camarones Tacos were outstanding, especially with the refreshing mango salsa. **Quantity:** The portions were generous, and the drinks were strong. **Value:** The prices were reasonable, with cocktails ranging from $12 to $15, the Steak Nachos at $17, the Carnitas Burrito at $14, and the Camarones Tacos at $12. **Ambiance:** Mexico Authentico is situated in Park Slope, featuring a small outdoor patio that is charmingly decorated and a cozy indoor dining area. Tables line the left wall, while a small bar is on the right. The walls are adorned with vibrant decorations, and lively Spanish music plays in the background. A large television is positioned toward the back but was off during our visit. **Crowd:** It was bustling for a Friday night, likely influenced by the rain, which kept many locals nearby, searching for a spot to enjoy a drink. **Service:** The staff was friendly and accommodating. **Parking:** Be aware that parking is limited in this residential area."

"Love this place but I am giving 2 stars. Solely because I ordered a shrimp burrito and enchiladas. When I got home I opened the box (which had the writing SHRIMP on it. cut into it and it was a steak burrito. I called back and told them my order was wrong, even tho it had the correct writing on the box. I went back down to get the right burrito and the cashier looked at me and said “okay that will be $14”. I said huh? I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thinks that i need to pay for the burrito I payed for when they’re the ones who gave me the wrong item. She offered me a discount but I still think I shouldn’t be paying $14. I payed and called them when I got home to speak to the manager because I felt it wasn’t right. I spoke to the same hostess and asked for a manager. She said why? I said because I don’t think I should be paying $20 for a burrito that I didn’t even get, adding another $14 on top of that for the one I ordered. So I’m paying $34 for 2 burritos, 1 that I didn’t even eat. She told me the managers were leaving and asked for my phone number to call me the next day. Still haven’t gotten a phone call. I give this place all my money and it makes me mad that they wouldn’t refund me or they made me pay for a mistake they made. Don’t think I will be going back for the way I was treated/the amount of money I spend at the place. Highly unprofessional."
