"I want to start off by saying this is not related to the baked products. Those are good. It's more a disappointment to how a situation was handled. I always want to support local businesses, especially in The Bronx, where I live. I also want to go where the product is good, which I have already established. That being said, I ordered 2 dozen donuts for a party for my daughter in November. I paid in full on a Wednesday to be picked up on Saturday. On Saturday morning, my daughter looked sick and tested positive for COVID. I had to cancel everything. I called them and although it was a tough situation, they were initially quite understanding. I felt bad, because they had been boxed up, but I know they would have no problem selling them off, because again, their product is good. I offered to come in and get them so they wouldn't go to waste, but again my daughter just got COVID. They told me to let them know a day in advance and they would get another order ready. I bought pies from them for Thanksgiving and Christmas, each time letting them know that I was the guy with the sick daughter and would be ready for the donut order soon. I had to wait until the new year, as parties are hard to throw for 6 year olds during the holidays. I called them up to get my order going. The lady on the phone was really helpful, setting up a new order. Everything was ready to move forward, until a man in the store that had remembered the incident decided not to honor the arrangement that we had come up with. This is after it was paid for and after I had supported the business on multiple occasions. Isn't the personal connection one of the greatest advantages to supporting small businesses? That went out the window, along with my future patronage."
