"Once we received our drinks, we were disappointed—they had a heavy liquor taste, as if they were hastily thrown together without a bartender's care. We ended up having to mix our drinks to make them more palatable. For our meals, I ordered shrimp and grits, while my boyfriend opted for catfish and grits. Unfortunately, the grits were hard and undercooked, although the shrimp were decent; they just didn’t provide many, so I left feeling unsatisfied. To add to the frustration, we waited another 20 minutes just to get our check.
We thought our ordeal might be over once we settled the bill, but there was more to it. On top of the gratuity automatically charged for our meal, we were hit with an extra $20 fee because my boyfriend wrote "disappointment" in the tip area of the receipt, which summed up our feelings about the visit.
The music was another downside; it felt like a DJ was trying to teach another DJ how to mix tracks, which was not the vibe we were looking for during a Sunday brunch. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and we decided to leave and find a different spot that offered brunch specials and attentive service. We had been to this restaurant before when it was relatively new, and it certainly did not reflect the quality we experienced back then. Not sure if there’s been a change in ownership or if they are closing down, but this visit was a letdown."
