"**Service:** The service is always professional, though it can be a bit slow at times. That’s to be expected since this place is always packed, which I think is a good sign. People keep returning because they love the food. On my last visit (the Friday after Valentine’s Day 2024), we had a cheerful server who was almost comically upbeat, greeting us with “Cheers, my friends!” after every interaction. He asked if we wanted “cracked pepp,” abbreviated with such enthusiasm that it’s now part of my daily vocabulary.
**Food:** As I mentioned, I LOVE their salmon; it’s cooked perfectly every single time. During my last visit, I ordered the 45-day dry-aged 18 oz ribeye and shared it with my partner. It was incredible—almost the best steak I’ve ever had at a restaurant (the best being at a steakhouse in Aspen, Colorado!). We also ordered three crab-stuffed jumbo shrimp topped with a béarnaise-like sauce, and the meal was simply fantastic! I won’t get into the prices, but just know that they don’t mention them when they list the specials, so go in prepared for a nice surprise—not that it’s a bad thing! Just expect that the food will likely be as good as you pay for.
The lobster mac and cheese? Yes, every time! The sautéed spinach is perfect as well. And the bread—they have this onion bread and dark rye with white raisins that are absolutely the favorites! We always ask for more.
**Dessert:** However, I recommend skipping the coconut cream pie; if you’ve had it at Spotos, you’ll be quite disappointed. It was the newest addition to their menu, and honestly, it didn’t hit the mark. On the other hand, the flourless chocolate cake exceeded my expectations, and my boyfriend says the cheesecake is the best dessert on the menu. Personally, I would rather skip dessert at The Capital Grille because their dessert offerings lean a bit too much toward the pretentious and not enough toward the delicious."
