"The food tastes pretty good, but is frankly WAY overpriced, even considering it’s in a casino. This is the first BBQ place I have ever been to that doesn’t offer a combo plate type meal. Everything is ala carte, but not really big enough to share, unless you only want 2 bites of each thing. The seats are flat wood, with no cushion. Quite uncomfortable after 15 minutes. The bread pudding dessert was terrible. Honestly the worst bread pudding I’ve ever tasted. I ordered a mocktail of a Mule, but honestly it just tasted like pink lemonade. Considering the base was ginger beer and cranberry, I really wondered if I got the wrong beverage served to me. Considering the draw is this is an Iron Chef restaurant, I was VERY disappointed, and won’t be back."

"We have thrived in Michelin-star restaurants all over the world and have always trusted this review as our experiences were always phenomenal. Yesterday Barndiva was a great disappointment. Our dishes were lacking in sophistication, surprise or the elevated artistry we would expect from a Michelin cook. The dishes were either too strong spices or oiled or lack of taste. We could hear from some neighboring tables (as we were crowded together) that they had a similar experience of spicy or inspiring tastes. Even the food presentation was simple and simple. Our service was subordinate and uncoordinated. We had to ask many times to refill our water to cool off the excessively seasoned first course. You missed clearing our plates before a next course arrived. We also had a birthday dinner and they only remembered at the end of the evening. We have asked for basic food allergies substitutions. The waitress was not aware of some dishes. It seemed to the boss lacked the ability to swing on some of the dishes and the result was even more disappointing for the dishes he modified. Note, some dishes were as intended and still subpar. The total value was not there for the meal. We have frustrated and disappointed. We had chosen Barndiva for an extraordinary birthday dinner. We've been overpaid. Even for half the price, it would still not be worth the money. We would recommend Guiso Latin Fusion for increased taste profiles, presentation and creativity for a fraction of the cost."

"We sat in the way back, by the other bar. It is a room with brick walls; cute, but not as elegant as the main dining room. We picked it because we thought it would be quieter and easier to hear. The main dining room did sound noisy from where we were sitting, so I think we made the right choice. We no longer go to noisy restaurants, so this figures largely in our choice. Food is always good here. Service is about 85-90% attentive. It’s close to our apartment."

"Came here for a weekend dining trip with a friend. From all the reviews I read of this restaurant on yelp I had expected it to be tasty and great service and that’s exactly what my experience was too. When we arrived to the restaurant we were greeted by the hostess and a couple servers then brought to the back side of the restaurant where it was more brightly lit with the large skylight windows which made the experience even better. What I liked about this room was that the early dishes were lighter and brighter like the sky and as we dine into the heavier and darker dishes the lighting in the room got darker as well, was a great transition overall. The server was very attentive and explained each dish and each wine pairing well. He was very down to earth and very easy to talk to. He made you feel right at home. From the menu there was a choice of the summer tasting, 3 course, 4 course or 5 course. Also the choice of doing 2 plates of the same course apart from the meat/poultry section or even do 5 courses of desserts if you’d like as what the server explained to us on the menu. Both my friend and I chose the 5 course menu, which ended up being way too much food for what we could handle. The portions are surprisingly generous! The foie gras was 6 ounces and so was the beef tenderloin. The chocolate souffle was very rich and creamy as expected. In my choice of dishes also included the duck egg which was fried on the outside with runny yolk inside which was great combo along with the next dish which was a lobster gnocci. Of the 5 plates, my favorite has got to be the foie gras! Large piece, very buttery tender, the side pairings gave out the flavor that much more."

"Delicious Mexican food. We had the breakfast burrito, chilaquiles Rojas and the mint hibiscus lemonade. All super yummy, we ate outside which was perfect. The woman running it is very nice, thoughtful and kind. Their menu is large, they have a whole vegan section."

"Go to Nick's on Broadway instead. We arrived at 10:15 and inquired whether they were open before the disabled member of our party got out of the vehicle. They said they were but we when we got inside they told us the kitchen wasn't open until 10:30, which would be fine except they said we could not sit down until then. They wanted us, including the person in our party who is in a cast, to stand for 15 minutes in an empty restaurant because it was policy! We finally had to leave because she couldn't stand any longer. We spoke to the manager who was incredibly rude, never apologized nor offered our friend in a cast a seat. We went to Nick's on Broadway and had a great meal and great service."

"Dino is an elegant Italian restaurant that offers a wide selection of menu options for first-time visitors. The calamari and cocktails were excellent, and the server was very knowledgeable about the menu. Although my roasted chicken was slightly underwhelming and took an additional 30 minutes to prepare compared to other dishes, it was still decent and had a crispy skin. The Parmesan shoots were a delicious addition. The garlic bread here is unique, with a light and raw garlic paste generously spread on toast. Overall, it was a decent experience, but not one I would necessarily revisit."

"the bastille kitchen is absolutely my new favorite spot! chef kendall and his personal skirt! I have been swinging weekly for several months and has never been disappointed. last night was another excellent culinary experience...from the door to go and greeted by the host andy, followed by attentive service of anna and phil. "My wife and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. We dined at 1789 to celebrate our union several times over the years. Our experience on Jan 14 2023 was excellent. Our server, Shantey, exhibited a superb understanding about each entree and made our dinner particularly memorable. She also explained how each item was prepared in a way that was easy to understand I highly encourage feasting at 1789."

"This was the best dining experience we've had in a long time! We had brunch to celebrate a birthday. Every dish was perfect. We had rillettes de poisson, croissants and a sticky bun to start, then had the quiche, croque madam, and steak frites. Everything was cooked just right and we all cleaned our plates! My family has already asked when we can return for another meal. The staff was friendly and responsive. Couldn't have had a better meal in a more lovely setting."

"My wife has been coming to this restaurant since her college days and really wanted to take me. We had a wonderful time with very friendly staff and owner. I tried the chicken kebab wrap and it was delicious. My wife had the aubergine stew, which she absolutely loves. I also tried her falafel a la carte and it was excellent. The hummus and garlic sauce were phenomenal as well. We are excited for our next visit and would highly recommend this place."

"This is my favorite place! Outstanding service, perfect music, friendliness of staff, etc. all go far to making Shiro the ideal place to spend an evening. And the food! You cannot get better food anywhere. The menu is very creative (and always changing), and each plate is unforgettable. And the staff is equal to the food in excellence, so that I feel I always feel I am being welcomed home. This is the hidden gem of Pasadena, and I would be willing to travel far for the Shiro experience. Highest recommendation!"

"I've been here once and will not return. I was with a work group but with no reimbursement. I wanted to cry when I saw the prices; it was so out of my reach that I ordered the least expensive item on the menu (nothing special, particularly for the price). I also ordered a glass of house cabernet (generally least expensive). When I received my tab, the ONE glass of wine was $15. I told the server there must be a mistake. She said they didn't have house cabernet and so what I was served was $15. I told her she should have told me they did not have a house cabernet; I would never have ordered this. She treated me with disdain and shrugged me off I guess I wasn't good enough [wealthy enough] to warrant honesty and respect from this establishment. Fine; I'm in a different income bracket now and will gladly take my business to establishments with good food that is not ridiculously priced, and with honest, friendly, and respectful service. Any time someone suggests trying this place, I warn them off and we go elsewhere."

"Kachina was a delightful place with a great atmosphere, although it was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night. Our server was incredibly friendly and even gave us a 15% discount on our bill, which was completely unnecessary but very much appreciated. I truly enjoy dining out and love supporting local businesses, so it’s disheartening to see so many places struggling. It's important for us to be understanding and patient with restaurants, especially during the holiday season, as they are likely feeling more stressed than we realize. "Went with my girlfriend for our four year anniversary. The restaurant had a 'Happy Anniversary ' card ready when we arrived to our table. They needn 't to have done that, but they did so because they wanted to. I ordered the Great Experiment cocktail, which was a delicious version of a limeade. I really needed something to quench my thirst, which it hit the spot. The French onions soup ordered as an appetizer was okay as I was hoping the cheese would be all melted on top. The beef wellington was cooked medium rare to perfection, the pastry dough might have been seasoned with a little too much salt. The lobster thermidore was delicious, I was hoping to find more gnocchi bits to help soak up more of the sauce, but was heavily complimented with more lobster bits. Sunday gravy is a must when eating at Marliave as it had the perfect portion from the gnocchi, to the meats, and lastly the sauce. Our chocolate cake was delicious served along with ice cream. I wish to have been served a little bit more ice cream to even out the chocolate cake, but that doesn 't warrant it as a real complaint. Just being gluttonous. Our server Kaley(? was extremely pleasant and accommodating to our needs. She had even communicated with us for the apology of the slow start because the bartender was backed up, so she made our drinks. Would definitely recommend her to serve people."

"My reservation the other night was for 6:30. Two of my friends had arrived and were sat shortly after 6:30. When I arrived about 10mins later my friends said no one had greeted them yet. So we chatted and looked over the menu. We had so much time to catch up, decided on drinks and what we were going to eat. Still no server to greet us. When our server finally arrived with two bottles of water to greet us she was nice but quiet spoken. I told her we were only waiting on two more as two friends had to cancel last minute. She removed the extra settings and we had to tell her we were ready to order drinks as she didn’t ask if we had questions, would like beverages besides water or if we cared for any shared plates. Throughout our evening our server wasn’t to be seen more often than not. We would stack our dishes at the edge of the table as she wasn’t stopping by for table maintenance or to see if we needed more water or cocktails. My friends ordered two salads, which never arrived. When she did come to clear dishes she never returned with clean utensils so when other employees were bringing our meals we asked them for utensils. She came to check on us after our entrées were delivered and we asked about the salads. We had brought a cake as we were celebrating my birthday but unfortunately no coffee service or dessert beverages were suggested/she didn’t ask if we would like anything else and she ran away so quickly after dropping plates that we just asked for boxes and the checks the next time we saw her. For the price, the quality of service provided was definitely lacking. So unfortunately I don’t think I will be running back anytime soon even though the food was amazing, as were the cocktails! Having staff who is engaging attention to detail in an establishment of this sort is so important."
