"Went with my girlfriend for our four year anniversary. The restaurant had a 'Happy Anniversary ' card ready when we arrived to our table. They needn 't to have done that, but they did so because they wanted to. I ordered the Great Experiment cocktail, which was a delicious version of a limeade. I really needed something to quench my thirst, which it hit the spot. The French onions soup ordered as an appetizer was okay as I was hoping the cheese would be all melted on top. The beef wellington was cooked medium rare to perfection, the pastry dough might have been seasoned with a little too much salt. The lobster thermidore was delicious, I was hoping to find more gnocchi bits to help soak up more of the sauce, but was heavily complimented with more lobster bits. Sunday gravy is a must when eating at Marliave as it had the perfect portion from the gnocchi, to the meats, and lastly the sauce. Our chocolate cake was delicious served along with ice cream. I wish to have been served a little bit more ice cream to even out the chocolate cake, but that doesn 't warrant it as a real complaint. Just being gluttonous. Our server Kaley(? was extremely pleasant and accommodating to our needs. She had even communicated with us for the apology of the slow start because the bartender was backed up, so she made our drinks. Would definitely recommend her to serve people."

The menu for Restaurant Week is not as impressive as it has been in previous years.

The Sunday Gravy over gnocchi is my favorite pasta dish downtown. I have not been in for it in a long while, regrettably.

Surprisingly good French restaurant! The escargot is good and cheese-y, the steaks are nice. Try the Wellington with super fresh puff pastry and foie gras. The gnocchi is also good with fluffy texture.

Great pre theater place just off the path but close to everything. Great table with a view upstairs. Risotto was delicious I enjoyed the Wellington but not the home run I was looking for as not enough pasty crust or pate for my taste. Great service too... View menu

If you love oysters, clams and shrimps you are going to have an amazing happy hour there, because all of these stuff that I listed above would cost you only one dollar a peace. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant and with a couple beers we had a great time.

Thought to be French, turned out to be American Italian. Food not bad. The olive oil for bread is good, but balsamic vinegar is not provided. Recommend Henry's soup and Wellington steak. Upper floor is good for dining, lower floor is more like a pub. Can reach the entrance from either side of the small lane.

Last time we were in Boston we missed eating here because Hurricane Sandy was coming thru. So pleased we made it this time. We had the best meal of our stay so far (DC and Boston). Great atmosphere upstairs, fantastic service and the food was perfect. Steak, chicken, fish and ravioli all devoured, and warm chocolate cake also disappeared very quickly. Highly recommended! Went for a birthday dinner for restaurant week in March. Therefore, we were on a fixed menu. Service was a bit low despite the restaurant being a bit empty but our server was great and energetic once he got to us. The appetizers with the escargot and the beef were to die for. They appear to have gone for the cheaper items for the main menu. The duck dish was tasteless but the silver lining is the how accommodating the restaurant was. Upon mentioning the duck dish, they quickly offered to switch it out for another main course item of my preference. the salmon they brought in was very good. flavourful and crispy on one side. The Sunday gravy was quite good as well. I made the mistake of orderi...

Amazing. We came here around 9 pm on a Monday night. It wasn't crowded so we got a great table by two walls of windows, which was amazing given that the restaurant has seating three stories up that gives you great views of the surrounding neighborhood. We were fortunate in that they were offering dollar oysters for 9 to 10 pm. The drinks were clever and fantastic...and a lot of them were bourbon based so right up my alley. Between the three of us we had 30 oysters, the duck liver ravioli, lobster thermador, cassoulet, and the diver scallops with sweet potato ravioli. We also got the.shrimp cocktail which turned out to be one shrimp...which was confusing and the only really disappointing part...

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
