"The opportunity this place has is incredible, being conveniently right next door to the Music Box Theater. That’s where the “incredible”ends. Skip it I’ll admit that I’m a chef Italian, so my standards are high. That said, this strikes me as an “Italian” restaurant in name only. Small, uncomfortable booths, bad decor. The pasta was mediocre at best oily, way too al denté, overpriced for the portion received, wholly inauthentic. We chose this place because of the location because they offered a gluten free penne dish. My Puttanesca was barely acceptable oily, cheap black olives interspersed with kalamata, few capers, etc. My friend who ordered linguine with clam sauce said: oily, undercooked, about half a jar of red pepper flakes. My friend who is gluten free lactose free had to PAY extra for the noodles (a surprise on the check) even tho the dish was on the menu. Plus, her substitution of goat cheese for mozzarella tagged on yet another charge. I might add that her gluten free dish was topped with a hunk of cheap, gluten FULL bread If we weren’t in a rush to get to an event, we would all have sent back our meals, but we pushed through got out. Bad night on the line? I think not. They need to get their act together or give up that prime location."
