"We’re always on a hunt for a good Peruvian restaurant. The service was a little slow at first since the place was full at 8 pm. After serving us our drinks, Willy our host and waiter extraordinaire, gave us banana chips and chanchas. The chips were thin and crispy like nachos and the odd shape of the corn nuts couldn’t belie the fact of its non-GMO origin indigenous from Peru. For appetizers, Willy suggested Papa rellena and Chaufa. The potato croquettes were like cloud pillows on your tongue accompanied by thinly sliced marinaded red onions, which is once again adding aromatic tartness to the dish. Alongside the chaufa were 2 amuse-bouche of mussel ceviche. The serving was so generous that one might consider to skip the entree at this point. The batter of the Chaufa is as light as a tempura and I’m just a little disappointed that the pickled red onions stole a bit of the seafood’s crunchiness. The entree, grilled Pargo (red snapper) was plated simply in a middle-eastern tradition with yucca also reminded me of the Philippine islands. So in just one night, I was transported to at least four countries. The restaurant might not be Michelin star in standards but their food speaks to the heart. Our dinner ended with a shot of pisco sour, (I had been fully converted to E-PISCO-Palian drinker since my Peruvian trip years ago) and a plate of tres leches cake to share. It’s a perfect dinner."

"This is one of our favorite places. I've been coming here for over 20 years. Well, this and the previous location. Still outstanding, but the best was when the family's grandmother was cooking when they opened. Same food, recipe, everything, but something was just better when she cooked. I usually get the same meal every time. The special Bistec a La Carreta (Number 1 on the menu for a reason LOL). It has this sauce on the steak with grapefruit and cilantro to die for. And the salsa is amazing!! My favorite of all time. Fresh and simple. But while i can usually recreate recipes from taste, this one has eludes me to this day. You have to get it from the source. And the house salad dressing on the salad this dish comes with is fantastic and I am not a fan of salad or dressing. Just try it! One time in the last 20 plus years they changed the dressing and I was grateful they changed back to the original on the next visit. The temporary dressing the one time, I did not touch the salad. I have tried other dishes on occasion, and they're all delicious. But always come back to the #1. The #2 is identical but with chicken for those who do not eat red meat. The secret is really the sauce. No joke. Parking: It is.in an old strip mall. Plenty of parking. Kid-friendliness: We always brought our kids. They have a kids menu. Sachin Papas (not sure on spelling). Grilled and sliced hot dogs. But damn! They are good! Also an appetizer. And the French fries. Wow Wheelchair accessibility: Parking and it is ground level. Lots of tables and wide approaches to restrooms."
