"Eventually, someone else — possibly a manager or owner — took over and informed me that they didn't offer vegan paninis. When I pointed out that they were still listed on their website, he dismissively remarked that it had been a long time since they were available. I then asked about their vegetarian hummus sandwich, which comes on honey wheat bread. While the menu only mentioned "wheat" and didn't specify whether it was vegan, at least they recognized that honey is not considered vegan.
I ended up ordering the vegan burger, which was my only option, although it wasn’t what I wanted for breakfast. They asked if I would like it on ciabatta because brioche (the default bread) is not vegan. The staff member’s tone suggested that I should have already known this, which felt a bit rude. It made me wonder how many people had unintentionally ordered a vegan sandwich on non-vegan bread without being informed.
When I asked about their turmeric latte, I was told they didn’t have it. I couldn’t see the coffee menu at that point, as it was located too far back in the line. So, I requested a vegan mocha instead. Initially, I was told no, but after she checked the chocolate syrup label, she confirmed that they could make it.
Despite the staff generally being polite, I felt frustrated and lost as I navigated the menu and my options. It didn’t seem like they were particularly interested in accommodating vegan customers. I had initially wanted a vegan scone that was labeled as such, but since they forgot to give it to me, I decided not to press the issue. In the end, I paid $51, which left me wondering what I actually received for that amount. The sandwich was just okay, but the overall experience was quite disappointing and unpleasant.
