"This restaurant consistently delivers high-quality food, and we really appreciate how clean it is, which is important to us. Our go-to dish is usually fajitas, but tonight we decided to try the taco salads. They were tasty! The only issue I encountered was that the lettuce could have been drained better; there was quite a bit of excess water on the plate, making some parts less enjoyable to eat. However, it wasn’t enough to ruin the experience for me. If the lettuce had been properly drained, I would have given them a full 5-star rating."

"It was a quiet evening when we arrived and were seated right away. The service was excellent, and the food was phenomenal. I tried the spicy mango margarita, which was delicious but a bit expensive at $15 for under 8oz. My wife and I shared the shrimp ceviche and the flautas de pollo. The portion sizes were reasonable for a restaurant in Denver, but felt a bit small compared to what you might expect in Mexico. We weren’t offered any chips and salsa, which was a little disappointing. Our total for two appetizer-sized dishes and one drink came to $55 after an additional credit card fee, and we left a $10 tip, bringing our total to $65. We had a wonderful conversation with Rick, the owner, who was a fantastic person. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family."

"When our food finally arrived, my order was wrong. I had simply asked for a shredded beef chimichanga a la carte, which I usually order without any issues at another El Rancho close to my home. Instead, I received a platter with two chimichangas, rice, and beans. The server seemed confused and didn't realize the order was incorrect. I decided to just take the plate and eat it, but when I cut into the chimichangas, they were filled with ground beef instead. I tried to return the dish, and when it was finally taken back, she brought out another entree, but it only had one chimichanga. I accepted it and just ate that. When my check arrived, I was shocked to see a charge of $16.99. I asked to speak with the manager, who insisted I had to pay for the platter. I refused, stating that I would only pay for what I actually ordered. He mentioned that the server was new, and while I understood that, I insisted on being charged correctly. After some back and forth, he adjusted the bill. Additionally, I noticed that kids' meals don’t include a drink, and the drinks are priced at $3.99 each. I ended up paying over $12 for my daughter's cheese quesadilla and fries—what a rip-off! Overall, the prices have become unreasonably high, the service was mediocre, the manager was ineffective, and the food was just okay—actually, it was quite salty! I won't be returning to El Rancho and would recommend looking elsewhere for a meal near UD Campus."

"We had a great experience here at lunch. This place was in walking distance from our training we were having downtown Winston-Salem. We were able to get in and out in under an hour. I had the lunch chicken fajitas and it was fantastic. I would definitely go back. The waitress was on top of things. One thing I liked that I don't see very often was the waitress was able to process card payments from her hand held device so no waiting for the checks, then waiting to take them to a register, then having to find a pen.... nope none of that. "This is my favorite restaurant in Raleigh. While I usually prefer higher-end places like Cowfish in North Hills or Midtown, the staff and service at this restaurant have consistently impressed me. I typically rate places 3 to 4 stars, but the welcoming attitude of multiple staff members who come to greet you makes it hard to give less than 5 stars. The food is absolutely fantastic—without a doubt, the best Mexican restaurant around. In fact, they could raise their prices by $2 on menu items because I'm definitely getting more than my money's worth! "We have eaten at this restaurant many times and it has been good. The time before tonight was so so, but they were really busy. Tonight they were busy as well. I ordered the “new” bowl salad with chicken. The salad was sparse, but okay until I realized there was at a minimum 1/4 cup of water in the bottom of the bowl. I sent it back but it was still on the bill. I mentioned it to the cashier and she wan nice and said I’ll take that off. I thanked her, but when she told me the price it was 20% off of the salad not the full amount. I could have asked for a manager, but didn’t. Just don’t order the bowl salad."

"The food was flavorful, but as someone else stated, the shrimp was cooked dirty. Sangria wasn't very strong, yet very refreshing on a hot summer day. The waiter was awful. No personality, forgot my chips and salsa, had to ask even. They came after my meal. I asked for beans instead of rice, but got rice anyway. There are better choices nearby.
