"Since 2011, my friends I have always had positive experiences (food service) at this bar grill UNTIL Friday night 10/6/23 between 5-6:30pm. As an aside, the restaurant had open tables and I did not see a wait. A GEN Z waitress was training a GEN X waitress at our table. My friend I are late stage baby boomers. The GEN X waitress did great on her own and was only hampered by the GEN Z waitress 's LACK OF professionalism. My friend and I both ordered the pasta and fish specials for the day which were both delicious. That 's where the positives for the meal end. The GEN Z waitress asked my friend, Can I take your plate or would you like to lick it clean? My friend 's response, Aren 't you fresh! I was stunned, as I was still eating my meal and had a glass of wine to finish. At this point, I was asked if I wanted a box- I said no, I 'm still eating. My friend ordered a cup of decaf coffee which was burnt. A box was delivered to our table for my remaining meal. We were asked if we wanted dessert, coffee ?....at which point my friend mentioned the decaf coffee issue. GEN Z waitress response, it was made about 15 minutes ago and offered another cup. My friend said no AND I responded to Gen Z waitress question, with a NO- just the check. We would have entertained another drink, dessert and coffee but it was obvious the Gen Z waitress wanted the table to turn over. Why? We left-EACH spending $36 including a 20% tip for hopefully ONLY the GEN X waitress! We complimented the GEN X waitress as we left. NOT in a hurry to return..... "Steve mentioned that the pizza was being prepared due to the delay. However, the BBQ Chicken Pizza was made with Marinara sauce and BBQ sauce, and it just didn’t taste good. When Steve came over to check on us, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the pizza. He said he was in the process of fixing it and asked if we would like something else on the house. My wife, after hesitating because of the slow service, ordered nachos, and Steve assured us he would take care of it. The nachos arrived promptly. However, when the bill came, it included the pizza but charged us for the nachos. We inquired about the charge, and the waitress informed us that Steve had left and she would get a manager. The manager, Albert, approached us rudely, asking, "What’s the problem?" When we explained the situation, he seemed unconcerned and simply said, "That’s what Steve told me, that’s your bill," before walking away. He clearly had no intention of addressing our concerns and came across as quite unprofessional. At the end of our visit, the waitress mentioned, "Yes... I'm looking for another place to work," which was telling of the overall atmosphere. As a local entrepreneur, I can’t imagine treating customers this way and expecting to stay in business. It was a terrible experience for my family, and we will certainly share our story with friends and anyone else to steer clear of Rookies."

"I have been to Gettusburg more times than I can count being a resident of Central Pennsylvania but today was the first time ever eating at this establishment after my girlfriend looked up eating establisments prior to the visit. I will say that we were not disappointed with the food. If you 're a fan of soft pretzels and crab dip then order the crab dip soft pretzel. It is a massive, 12 inch (or bigger) soft pretzel covered with a delicious, hot, gooey, cheesy crab dip. It is essentially an appetizer but due to the size, two people could literally make a meal out of it. The fried pickle chips were the best I have found so far. Thin, crispy, not too greasy that have a hint of zing to them. They come with two dips, ranch and a Cajun dip which has a kick for sure. The burger ordered was the John Buford. Huge is an understatement that was accompanied by sweet potato waffle fries. While the burger was good, unless you 're a true fan of blue cheese, order a different burger. The blue cheese, which we love blue cheese dressing, has plain blue cheese crumbles mixed in with the mayo and the blue cheese was too overwhelming for our taste. So, for an avid blue cheese lover, this would be a great pick. Lastly my dish, the Blue and Grey wings. Choices of six or a dozen with several levels of heat to choose from. I attempted to order the hottest being the Gettysburg Ghost but the server was honest and advised they do not seem as hot and the flavor has been off. Instead she suggested the Devils Den level. Damm!! The start with a mild zing and suddenly the heat kicks in. I only had four due to having the aforementioned pretzel and pickle chips. Had I not eaten some of the appetizers I probably would have had six or more but my fingers, mouth and lips were ON FIRE!! Definitely some of the best wings I have ever had both taste and heat. The establishment is busy and there is a wait. We sat outside for about 25 to 30 minutes before they called our phone to get us seated but so worth the wait. The service is fast, servers friendly and for the amount of food the cost was less than I expected. We will definitely eat here again in the future."

"After making my payment, I drove home with my order and should have been wary when I pulled out the sundae; it was in a plastic container that was a struggle to open! This clearly wasn't freshly scooped ice cream drizzled with warm caramel and fudge; it was obviously pre-packaged. Even though that thought nagged at me, I decided to give it a try, despite realizing that I could have gotten toppings at Tony's for much less than the $10 I paid for this sundae—yes, $10 for one turtle sundae! I tasted the whipped cream first, but it had no flavor whatsoever, so I pushed it aside. The ice cream, caramel, and fudge were all frozen solid, like a brick. Normally, when you get ice cream topped with hot fudge and caramel, the heat should start to melt the ice cream by the time you get home, but not in this case! Everything was still rock hard. It was clear that the entire container—ice cream, fudge, caramel, and whipped cream—had been sitting pre-packaged in a freezer. When I took a spoonful of the ice cream with solidified caramel, I was disappointed to find that the caramel had a gritty, waxy texture. I could actually feel this unpleasant, waxy grit on my lips, teeth, and tongue! Having been around long enough, I recognize that this is what happens to sugary syrups when they age or are frozen for too long. It was utterly disgusting, and I cannot recommend this place! This is what happens to businesses that have been around for a while but have lost interest in maintaining the quality of their food."
