"Absolutely fantastic! I loved everything about this place—the food, the atmosphere, and the service! The staff was exceptionally polite. The food was incredible, simple yet packed with flavor. "I decided to tried door dash with this restaurant for the lunch special for the first time. The doordash driver exceeded expectations while following covid precautions. My food was perfectly package and sealed w staples in closed brown bag, this wasa huge plus for the restaurant. I ordered chicken masala, meat combo. I was given 4 small bites size pieces of chicken and naanwas hard, I'm guessing not fresh. Could do better with the portion. In my opinion, my food was tasty and flavorful. They justneed to work on freshness and portion sizes, especially when customer ordering meat as the main dish. Overall 4stars???? #TEAMSMILEY"

"INCREDIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE. ???????????????????? Azim (owner) hosted my little sister’s birthday and she TRULY made the experience incredible. Honestly, VERY GOOD quality and super authentic Indian food. You can’t find a better restaurant andbetter prices as well. Come here with your friends and family and you won’t regret it. "We went because we were craving soup due to this unpredictable weather we are having in New York City. It's June and currently we are having low 50s for night time. I mean my house hearing system came on, so I decided why not go for soup and drums of heaven The restaurant is nice and service is quiet good but their Thai Tom Yum soup was quiet horrible and Drums of heaven was good but not great Last but not least I tried their Thai Ice Tea, which was pretty good"

"I am giving this place 5 bc they are by far the most well rounded restaurant I’ve been to in awhile. Their food is tasty, their service is by far the best I’ve received in an Indian restaurant. I moved from FL to CA just recently and wanted to try this place out. I am glad, this place has such a high bar for service and quality of Indian food. Things that stood out to me: since the moment we sat down, they were very attentive. They made us feel welcome. My water was never less than half full (HUGE PLUS) they listened to our order and got it correct! My wife ordered kulfi but forgot to mention she’s allergic to nuts and they brought us pistachio kulfi which they let me but also gave my wife mango kulfi (on the house) which really earned them few stars! The last star was earned when they noticed we didn’t use the plastic bag to pack our food, their server brought us a brown paper bag to put our left over containers in. This… goes beyond what we expect as customers and earned them their 5th star. Keep doing an amazing job guys! You’ve earned a loyal customer from here on out!"

"We arrived minutes early. We were seated and given our menus and water. And then we waited. Two gentlemen came in and the greeter talked to them, and talked to them, etc. When, finally, he came to get our order, we ordered mango lassis and were told they might not have them. He’d check. We placed our order...more servers arrived so new diners got more attention..,We never were told if there were lassis..but apparently not since we didn’t get them. The food we did get was delicious, especially the Naan. But we won’t return."

"I chose the Dutch over the other nearby restaurants on a quiet Saturday evening partly because of the impression of warm simple elegance I got from looking in the door. I was greeted in a friendly way by the bartender and chose to eat at the bar. I chose from the prix fixe menu: roasted mushroom soup with sourdough, Cuban pork with black beans in bbq jus, cabbage ale and herbed sour cream. The soup was excellent warm and darkly savory and not too salty. The toasted sourdough was perfect for dipping in the soup. The generous pork and beans plate was slightly pleasantly spicy and the au jus complemented the beans in a way I can really describe but was delicious. Even the cabbage slaw was a cool counterpoint to the warmth of the pork and beans. Finally I went with the brown butter apple tart with vanilla ice cream and almond crumble. Flavorful and sweet but with flavor foremost. The atmosphere is relaxed elegance. The service was excellent. I will be returning."

"Absolutely wonderful food: Traditional, yet with subtle flavorings that set this apart from the “standard” Indian restaurants on every other street. The “combination” biriyani is superb, each ingredient characterized well and yet the whole blending together into a delicious medley. And the Chicken Saag was really unique: a slight sweetness that was wonderful. All of the vegetables were fresh and perfectly prepared; and the meats and shrimp were obviously top-quality. "I have been getting swagat once or twice a week for well over a year now. My boyfriend and I loved the place, we considered it to be the best restaurant in Baton Rouge. Unfortunately the ownership seems to have changed and the quality of the food has suffered greatly.It's just not the same food. Swagat used to absolutely nail every dish every time we got it, and now the food is bland and too sweet. Maybe this was an intentional choice to appeal to a wider audience, but it's not nearly as good as it used to be.Had whoever bought the restaurant not changed any of the recipes I'd only be a little disappointed not to see the same old faces when I went it, but since the food isn't even similar in quality, I'll probably never go back.We mourn the loss of swagat every day."

"I am surprised with the negative comments that we reas here. We still decided to try out this placd as it was near the hotel where we were. We were pleasantly surprised when the food was really good. We had a delicious lamb briyani and chicken tikka masala. We ordered garlic naan, which was excellent. The service was also good.
