"I'm not from the South, but I've had my fair share of BBQ. Wally's is definitely one of the best spots around. I tried the ribs and pulled pork, along with a choice of sides, hush puppies, and the cornbread. The meat was outstanding—moist, tender, flavorful, with the perfect balance of fat and char. I also enjoyed an excellent BBQ pulled pork pizza. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is good. If you're looking for great BBQ in Port Charlotte, this is the place to go. It beats KC's Arthur Bryant's any day!"

"The chips were very good (thicker than you would expect and the margaritas were strong. The ceviche and guac was pretty good. Maybe it's just the resort location, but I felt the food wasn't worth the price. The service was good although our table was very dark. (I think the bartender ended up taking care of us. He said our server was in the restroom then we never saw her. He did great though. Even a fake candle on the table would have helped. This was a special meeting with colleagues that were staying there, so it was convenient, but I wouldn't go out of my way as a local to come back just for this. I would recommend it if someone were staying on site and didn't want to splurge for the fancier restaurants. It's right next to the pool so that could be fun in the summer."

"The food my son ordered wasn't great. The waitress seemed irritated that he was placing his order in English. I understand that it's mostly a Spanish-speaking restaurant, but there's no need for that kind of attitude. I had been eager to try this place for the seafood. The music from the DJ was extremely loud, making it hard to have a conversation during dinner. We ended up spending $100 on three meals, tea, and a Topo Chico. They also added a fee of 3% or 4% for using my credit card, which I didn't notice beforehand. Maybe I overlooked it, but I probably won’t return unless something improves."
