"We usually enjoy dining at Mama's, but our recent experience was not up to our usual standard. It seemed like there was a graduation event happening at the ShoWare Center across the street, which may have contributed to the off night. We were seated promptly at our reservation time by a friendly hostess, but it took a while for our waitress to acknowledge us. We were left waiting without any attention, water, or offers for drinks. When the waitress finally arrived, we ordered appetizers, only to find out that the French bread we usually enjoy was no longer available and was replaced with focaccia bread, which we didn't find to be as good. Our appetizers arrived without utensils, wet plates, and no napkins. Even when our main course arrived, we still had to ask for utensils and napkins, which took a couple of tries for the waitress to bring us. For dessert, we ordered mud pie and pineapple upside down cake with ice cream. The mud pie was a disappointment, but the pineapple upside down cake was delicious. I typically don't leave unfavorable reviews for restaurants, and all my previous Mama's reviews have been five stars. Unfortunately, this particular visit fell short of a five-star evening."
