"I went to this restaurant for lunch and it was busy, but my server was attentive and friendly. I tried the cheese pizza and found it to be okay but a bit bland, with sauce lacking flavor. The special cheesesteak with homemade soft pizza dough in roll form was not a good choice, as the roll was tasteless and couldn't hold up to the sandwich, causing it to fall apart. I would recommend trying the Philly roll instead. Overall, the experience was good but I would explore other menu options on my next visit."

"It says “El Nopal” but it really is the Agave Azul restaurant. Our waiter was very polite, although a bit slow despite the fact that the place was basically empty. I ordered the Flat Bread (listed under specialties), however it seemed more like a flour tortilla than a bread and it was a little salty. Chips and salsa were good and I highly recommend the tomatillo salsa for whoever likes some spice in their food. There was four of us in the booth and I have to say that between the chips, salsa, drinks, silverware, salt and pepper shakers and, the multiple plates that come with each meal, the size of the table was awfully small."

"After my last review I feel it needs to be updated, the waitress that took my order is always polite(it's normally the same young woman, but that's where the good news ends. For those of you who don't know, when your order is put in for grilled foods(especially to go orders) they will take food that either didn't sell or they made to much for another order and set to the side so as to cut down on waste. If a sauce or cheese dip was put on it, they'll throw it back on the grill, squirt it with water, and clean it off. This seems to be what happened this last time as not only was the chicken tough and overcooked, the vegetables were soggy and disgusting with the whole thing having no flavor. I don't expect anything to be done about it, just feel frustrated and cheated because their did is so expensive now for no damn reason, but the quality just seems to be getting worse. Stop cutting corners on already sub adequate food please."

"Like El Nopals food. Service is usually decent, although they don 'tseem to understand what put the condiments on the side mean.Be cautious when asking for your items like Sour Cream, dollop of guacamole, and Onion on the side. They charge for a bowl full. (Even if these items are included in your meal. Mind you, Im not asking for EXTRA!!!! )I ordered a quesadilla relena which comes with a little salad, a dollop of sourcream . I asked for the dollop on the side instead of ON my salad. $2.25!Same thing with guacamole. I asked for it on the side....$7.50 for a bowl full. Just wanted the normal portion, just on the side!! We also ordered a chicken quesadilla without stewed peppers and onions and asked for fresh onion on it. They brought a whole bowl full of onions and charged us $2.25.A meal that should have been $26 was nearly $40 before the tip.Seems like a way to increase sales. I dont want to take 4 oz of sour cream or a finely diced onion home. Just one oz for my meal while I eat in your restaurant! Same with onions!El Nopal, please consider the use of ramikins for condiments when people ask for items on the side. No one ordering a plate of food with items on the side that come on it expects the extreme upcharge. Just bring one ramiken of sour cream, not the 4 oz container."

"First time experience was excellent. The food tasted outstanding and service was excellent. Ordered soft ground beef taco and cheese enchiladas. The refried beans tasted the best I’ve ever had. Grande quesadillas was awesome and very large portion. They even had a fresh guacamole cart and offered to make some. Great restaurant and we will return."

"Upon entering the restaurant, we immediately felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was evident that the floor was dirty. After being seated, we noticed that the table was also dirty and requested to be moved to a different spot. The menus were also not clean. Although the service was friendly, it was a bit slow. The food we ordered was average. The bus boy clearing tables next to us was noisy, interrupting our conversation. While the prices were reasonable, we do not plan on returning as cleanliness is important to us when dining out."

"The food was not fresh at all. I ordered for pickup right after they opened at 5 PM, and it looked like it had been microwaved. It definitely seemed like leftovers from the night before. Even the rice was clumpy and had a slightly stale smell. I called to inquire about it, and the woman on the phone assured me that everything is made fresh. There's no way that's true; I know what old food looks like, and this was not fresh at all."

"I visited this restaurant for lunch on my birthday with my family, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The manager was not only rude but also seemed to have a negative attitude towards me, while treating my parents perfectly fine. We ordered a variety of dishes, including appetizers and main courses, but aside from the avocado salad, everything else was disappointing. My main dish, a special called spaghetti Tuscan, tasted like heavy cream-coated noodles with chunks of mozzarella, spinach, and tomatoes. I only managed to take a few bites before I felt sick to my stomach and couldn’t eat anymore. The pizza reminded me of Costco pizza, which is not what you expect—or want—to find at an "ITALIAN" restaurant, especially given the prices. Overall, I wouldn't choose to return here, despite my parents and family friends having dined here frequently in the past."

"We saw the episode from DDD over the weekend. If you want the meat market just go in the side entrance. The pizzeria is in the front. They do have a very small parking lot on the side street (3 spots). It's a very popular place that has about 6 tables in the back. For grub, we shared the antipasto bread that comes with marinara sauce. Plus a wrap called dolly's chicken salad. While we waited for our order noticed that they have two rather large refrigerators with prepackaged meals, bone broth and slices of desserts. If the pistachio ricotta cheese cake is available, do try it. Over the years I've written many DDD reviews. We were in the area and just couldn't resist another. Service was good. If you're looking for very good comfort food and in the area of South Bound Brook do check this place out."

"We recently hosted a private event for 100 people. Leading up to the event, our event coordinator Vanessa was fantastic to work with. She helped answer all our questions and made planning the event easy. The night of the event, we were thrilled with the manager and staff who helped make the event go smoothly. The servers were so kind and accommodating. The food was incredible for such a large quantity. The Italian White Cake was amazing! I can also highly recommend the lasagna. (Just like my mom used to make, but better! Would definitely host an event here again and will be back to eat with my family! Kid-friendliness: Great options for kids! Staff is kid-friendly."
