"Last night, I tried the Steak and Cheese sub at Rosa's during the Friday Food Critic night. I ordered it loaded with double meat, double cheese, and fries. The sub was really awesome, almost deserving of 5 stars. However, the double meat was a bit much, creating a messy eating experience. The only thing preventing a 5-star rating was the lack of Hoagie Spread at the restaurant, as it is essential for a proper steak and cheese sandwich. The crinkle cut fries were not a favorite, and the quality of the meat was average. Despite this, I would still order it again as it is the best option on this side of Richmond. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and the staff is friendly. Overall, it was a good experience, although not quite reaching a true 5-star steak and cheese standard."

"I’ll admit, I felt a bit anxious when I arrived at this location since I wasn’t familiar with the area and had no idea what to expect. However, my concerns were quickly put to rest when I walked in and one of the staff members said, “I see that look in your eyes.” I felt immediately welcomed, and the staff quickly got to work on my order. I was impressed by their kindness and how swiftly I received my food. Once I got home, I was very pleased with the quality of the wings. The sauce had just the right amount of heat and tasted fantastic. Overall, I’m very impressed with this little chicken joint and will definitely consider coming back when I’m in the area again."

"The drinks were mixed well and reasonably priced. The loaded potato skins appetizers were okay, but not particularly flavorful. The rib eye steak dinner and country fried steak dinners were well prepared and flavorful. The Atlantic salmon was a bit overcooked and dry and the carrots in the roasted vegetables were undercooked. The portion size of the salmon was generous, though. The Salmon Oscar was also a bit overcooked and had no more than a tablespoon of flavorless crab meat on top...for an additional cost of more than the Atlantic salmon plate. The Mother Lode cake for a birthday celebration was stars and an extremely generous serving size! Thank you CJ for that perk!! Our server, Alexia, was attentive, intuitive to our needs and timing and very pleasant to interact with."

"This review will be broken into three parts. This happened on Sunday, April 30th. 630 pm. Had a company dinner. 25 guest. Atmosphere. Upon entering was greeted promptly. The restaurant was nice and clean and well organized. Medium size crowd. Food. I can only give an opinion on some food since the size of the table is to many. I had a bowl of clam chowder. This was some of the weakest chowder I've had. The based was runny not a thick chowder quality. Few clams and for the price not at worth it. I put this chowder in par with something out of a can.Very disappointed. I had the 21oz bone in ribeye from the prime steak menu with sauteed mushrooms and onions. Price $74. The side was onion rings. Once I got the meal it came on a sizzling cast iron plate. I first noticed that's amount of butter was more then expected. There was the chard marks but no crunch of a crust. The reason was to much butter. First bite. Then meat was tender but the garlic butter was overpowering. It completely over took any type of seasoning or crust. Disappointed. I compared this steak to the one at Morton's that I had last month. Same steak and price. Sorry but Morton's was 10 times better. I could actually taste the seasoning and had a crust. The onion rings were nothing great but was not bad. Had the chocolate cake 3 layers.. excellent. A co worker had the sea bass. I asked if he would recommend it. It said no at all. Not very well done. Other coworkers said their meals were good and some said some of the items were not. The lobster Mac and cheese were underwhelming from two people. Overall feeling was they don't see themselves coming back anytime soon. Service. Sorry not sure who's fault this is, but for 25 guest we had one server. Orders got messed up, meals were missing and I could see the frustration on her and was told she was rude to a few coworkers..one being our manager. I would think with that's big of a group..yes we had called one week before to reserve a table, they would of made sure at least 2 servers to keep things organized. My recommendation is- if your looking for a steak house quality type of steak..go to one that is well known. Here is a nice family meal that's good but not great for the price. If you do go don't go with a large group based on our service.."

"We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We spent $85 on dinner for three people, but that wasn't the main issue. The food was terrible, the portions were extremely small, and our food arrived cold, requiring us to send it back. We felt that we could have had a better meal at McDonald's across the street. The only positive aspect of our visit was our server, Miranda, who was fantastic. We felt sorry for her and made sure to tip her well. However, I would not recommend dining here as the quality of the food has severely declined."

"Ok here 's the GIG. As a home town Hoosier here I 've tried just about everything and every diner I can. I live here. Gotta try everything you know! So many restaurants here in Bloomington and abroad are very good. Some are not. This place is no exception! It actually goes above and beyond traditional in terms of taste, quality of food, and home town service. The food here is Grade A. Fresh. From their greens to their meats. They got a connection or something. I 've been here now twice and both times off the chain excellent! I heard their steak burgers are one of the best you will ever try. I tried it today. They were correct. That was an amazing burger! This place is a hidden gem for good food! Your taste buds won 't regret it. I 'll be back! J.A. Bloomington IN"

"This is a fantastic place to visit with a group, especially if you have kids. The atmosphere is lively with the sound of TVs playing, and the paragliding decorations are adorable for children without being overstimulating. I should mention that it's not primarily a BBQ spot. I ordered a brisket sandwich, which was just okay, and the corn that came with it was soggy. However, the grilled calamari and the two Cuban sandwiches were outstanding. So, if you go in with the right expectations, I think you’ll really enjoy it. I also noticed that the bar area is quite nice, and there's a well-designed party room, which is good to know. I read some negative reviews regarding service, but I must say our service was excellent, even though it was a busy night."

"Will not be returning to Granite City. The brunch has limited options compared to previously. They were busy but service was very slow and not very attentive given the size of our group. The bathroom needed serious attention and the server I alerted to the situation looked very put upon to have been bothered about it. Who else should I have told?? Our last visit was soon after things opened up after the COVID shut down. I was served a dry, plain burger on dry toast when I’d ordered a patty melt. Thought we’d give them another try for a celebratory family brunch (16 people). Sadly, we thought wrong."

"kellner was friendly, but eating was not so ordered, once delivered to the table (from other employees, not our waiter.) kitchen staff and waitstaff could benefit from double control orders before they are delivered to tables. when we started problems, the manager was more than generous and pulled 2 items out of our bill. 1) wedged salat was given without tweeping and blue cheese dressing on the side, but came with many tweepers, ranch dressing on the salat and no side of the blue cheese dressing. 2) wings order with blue cheese dressing, but only with ranch dressing arrived 3) fish and chips that were served with koleslaw on the menus but not included 4) children do not eat problems"

"I had the ham dinner with mash potatoes and stuffing. I asked our waiter if it should have gravy, he said yes and ran away to get some. We ordered our dinner at 5:50 pm and got our food at 6:57 pm. We would have left if not for our waiter. My wife had Salmon that was dry, and it came with white rice (which was cold), I asked her if she wanted to send it back and she said what and wait another hour for the food , she did not eat her dinner and instead took it home and will fix (heat) it up this week-end. Sorry to say but we will not be going back."

"It has been years since I visited a claim jumper. This review is for the one at south coast plaza. I remember loving their 6 layer chocolate cake that they are famous for and was happy to see it's still on the menu. We had a large group of 11 and were seated outside quickly. If you are going in warmer weather definitely sit outside. Our waiter was so kind and attentive. Wanted to make sure everything was good. The portions are huge so unless you are starving better to share a plate. Got the fish tacos and I recommend the brussel sprouts side dish, so good! Also pretzel bites for a starter with a group is a good choice. Kids got lobster Mac and cheese and they loved it. Lots of good options that don't have meat."

"We went for lunch. I ordered the Impossible Burger and Stephen had the Memphis Chicken Sandwich. I chose mashed potatoes and he got Matchstick Fries for our sides. The burger and sandwich were good, but not any better than going to similar menu restaurants. My side had one mistake in my opinion, they brought out my burger with an enormous ball of mashed potatoes. They were hot but dry. I asked for a side of gravy to make them more like the mashed potatoes we all know and love. They were fine and gravy was not added on to the bill as an extra charge. The chicken sandwich had a sauce that gave a pretty good punch of heat if you like hot and spicy. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate fudge cake. It was six layers and topped with walnuts. The frosting was a little too sweet for my liking and overwhelmed the cake. So I ended up taking it home and eating the cake with vanilla ice cream (missed opportunity for cross sell). It was much better and cut that sharp sweet flavor. This would be a good sharable for a table of 4. Overall a good experience, but a little spendy for Lunch. So I probably wont be back because the high end pricing doesn't fit my budget.."

"We had reservations for 6 and tried to change it to 7 (this is through Open Table) and they wouldn't accommodate said they were booked completely but when we got there, the restaurant was over half empty and it remained so during our entire dinner. They sat us in a booth with service for 4 and we had to ask for 2 more table setting when our food got there (so obviously they weren't reserving a table for US specifically or they would have had the service for 6 ready). Caesar salad was good, but the dinner salad was brown. Turkey was a little dry but ok. One of our party ordered tri tip and got the fatty overdone end. I was not as impressed as I had hoped to be. Especially since the restaurant was not overbooked, overcrowded, overly busy at the time we were there, early afternoon. Guess they were saving the good stuff for the dinner crowd."

"My husband and I visited this Claim Jumper for the first time in at least a decade. Unfortunately, it was nothing like what we had remembered it to be. First, aesthetically, the restaurant had not undergone any renovations within that decade, so everything literally looked as though it had been frozen in time. That includes the grime and dirty windows and window seals. It would be best not to be seated next to them if you’d like to maintain an appetite. We ordered the artichoke dip and chips as an appetizer and that was the first sign that this experience was not going to be like the last time, 10 years prior. The chips were so thin and bland, it’s hard to understand how they could be considered for a dip as thick as artichoke dip. The actual dip tasted of bacon grease and absolutely no other flavor. So that experience was a complete L (loss). Onto the dinner—my husband had a marinated lemon and herb shrimp with a baked potato and Brussels sprouts. While the presentation was actually very appetizing, The sprouts were literally hard as a rock—so much so that I had to show our waitress that we could not even put our fork through it. It seemed as though they were frozen and dropped into a sauté pan and literally blackened on both sides with no regard to actually cooking the inside. Awful. The shrimp were a bit soggy, and the baked potato was, well—like any other baked potato…lol. I opted for the factory burger and fries. Both the burger and fries were over cooked and had absolutely no flavor at all. A complete waste of calories. Last, we ordered the pecan butter cake, which came with a scoop of ice cream on top. To our disappointment the cake was literally cold to the touch, as if it had been brought straight from the freezer to the plate. Despite the coldness, the butter cake was actually fairly good. Not sure if that’s because of how extremely bad everything else was, but I was certainly not terribly disappointed in the taste. It was crunchy on the outside and moist inside. Overall, this restaurant gave me the feeling of being on its last leg."

"The waitstaff was delightful—both knowledgeable and accommodating. The food was good, though we focused on a generous Philly omelet, crispy hash browns (definitely crispy!), and a biscuit (not quite a cat-head, but a bit buttery). I noticed some pancakes being served, and while it might be excessive for one person to have two, those two gentlemen with gray hair certainly gave it a shot without any complaints. I brought my own tea, but I have a feeling that if I had requested sweet iced tea, our server would have happily refilled it. My wife had just finished her latte, so she opted for water. The fruit cup was lovely, and the homemade strawberry jam was a little on the sweet side but still quite delicious."

"It wasn't very busy when we got there but then got very busy. Our server was fantastic, very accommodating and even though new, attentive and found answers to any of our questions.Unfortunately we weren't real impressed with the food. The clam chowder was salty. The salmon Oscar was good as was the assorted vegetables except for the asparagus. We don't know what they did but it was tough and overcooked. The Mac and cheese was lukewarm. The lobster claws BLT had very little lobster. I asked for it disassembled but instead of lettuce tomato I got coleslaw, the bacon was undercooked, the parmesan cheese bread was very good but I didn't care for the shoestring fries. We got dessert to go, carrot cake and chocolate mother lode cake. They were both pretty good but homemade is better. It was an interesting experience but the food for the price just didn't do much for us.Unfortunately, our server forgot our discount of $10 for joining the rewards program."

"Last time I was at Claim Jumper in Valencia I had a burger and fries, my parents had steaks. The food was decent and imagined coming back sooner than later. Fast forward 7 years, my recollection was not brought to the forefront. I would think that the food would have been even better this time around, however this was not the case. This time, I had the tri-tip sandwich, my wife the crusted chicken pasta, my mother the salmon, the kids a bowl of clam chowder. The trip-tip sandwich did not look anything like the menu. The amount of meat was nearly half of that of the menu picture. The taste was subpar. My wife's chicken and pasta was acceptable, however the cheese bread was unedible. The salmon was good, but not 30 dollars good. The bowl of clam chowder was sour and watery, my girls did not finish even half of it. The food, overall, was not good. We booked a reservation at 6:30, but were seated nearly 20 minutes later. Once seated, we sat down for another 10 minutes without a server attending to us. During those 10 minutes, roughly 15 walk-bys with staff without anyone mentioning they will be right with us. When I asked the lady at the front who seated us that we haven't seen our waiter, she let us know that she will find them, but she simply went to the front to greet new customers. Although the staff are pleasant and friendly, the service needs work. They may be understaffed possibly, so I don't want to get on them individually; management needs to figure this out. I bought a 100 dollar gift card with a 25 dollar gift card bonus on the Claim Jumper website. There is no disclaimer that the 25 dollar gift card can only be used after 6/20/2022. Only after purchase was this made known. Sneaky Claim Jumper. I will be hard pressed to come back considering my recent visit to use the 25 dollar bonus gift card. Overall, very poor experience for a mother's day dinner. I felt I wasted 120 dollars. I would have been more satisfied with a trip to McDonalds."

"it's been a long time since I visited harveys. Previously, it was one of my favorite lovers, but eating and the service had gone on the hill in the last few times when I left. my son ordered a chicken dinner with her Mac-n chess. I ordered the parmasian crooked white fish with wild corn rice and garlic carrots. both excellent dinners. very pleased. we sat right away. they were very busy. everyone was very friendly, from host, to server, to busboy. our server was sweet and very pleasant. only negatiw it took too long to get the server on the table, and for them to take care of our card / check. nice bar, pleasant decor, cool lighting, parking space, outdoor kitchen, clean bathroom. fair prices. I will give a good recommendation again!"
