"I ordered sweet and sour soup (my favorite at Chinese restaurants), but it was mediocre at best. It lacked the expected rich, pungent flavor and was instead quite light and bland. My companion tried the vegetable tempura, but the batter was tasteless, and it was returned to the kitchen immediately because it was far from edible.
We also ordered boneless spare ribs, which were juicy and flavorful—definitely a highlight. For my choice, the reliable pork fried rice was great; it was packed with egg, onion, and peas.
For round two, my wife ordered string beans and beef. The string beans were decent, but the meat was nothing but gristle and tough. At that point, we decided to cut our losses and asked for the bill. Just so you know, we left no tip.
The restaurant was mostly clean, though the rug definitely needed a professional cleaning. The service was lackluster—our server didn't seem rude, just disinterested, and she never checked in on us. I had to call her over to address our issues with the tempura.
Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to this place. I'll stick with Hunan Taste in Montclair instead; it's much better."
