ORIGINAL REVIEW: Had a disappointing experience tonight. Ordered a chirashi don through Uber Eats and usually received sashimi style slices of fish on rice. Instead, I received chopped fish with scrambled eggs. When I called, they explained it was part of a transition to AZN. Disappointed with the lack of assistance offered. Will not be ordering from them again as I can get better quality poke bowls for a lower price elsewhere. It's unfortunate to lose another option for decent quality sushi in the area."

"when we reached our 915 clock reservation, there was no one at the Hostess-Desk. I went to talk to someone in the takeout area to see what's going on, they told me to wait for someone to come out. we waited a good 4.5 minutes until the host finally comes. He didn't apologize for waiting. I just set us up. the waiter didn't say hello or imagined himself. it was just ready to take away our order immediately. eating was okay, nothing special. overall it was just ok. the customer service was missing and again it was not special. I wouldn't go back. too many other good restaurants around with good service and eating to deal with it. it's too bad, I was very excited to eat here."

"My family loves China Cafe! The food is always amazing and the staff is great! We always order, either egg rolls and egg drop soup for each of us or the pu pu tray for 2, the combo fried rice (made extra spicy) and sesame chicken. The portions are great for sharing, they definitely don't skimp on anything here. Its a newer location, but Bing (the owner) did a great job making sure the taste quality of the food hasn't changed at all."

"Has anyone else experienced throat swelling from MSG in Chinese food? It hit me about 8 hours after I ate. In the middle of the night, I felt like my throat was closing up, and it was hard to breathe. It was a very scary experience. Even 24 hours later, I still feel a lump in my throat. I ordered from Chopsticks near Grant Park, and they seem to use a lot of MSG—be careful. I've had Chinese food many times before without any issues. I've been taking ibuprofen all day to help with the swelling. Next time, I will definitely ask for no MSG, but it’s frustrating because I've never had a problem anywhere else. After eating only a third of my meal, I had a close call with a medical emergency. Thankfully, my son hadn’t touched his food, and we ended up throwing it away. It was a waste of money, but it was better than risking a trip to the hospital."

Moreover, the proportion of food in the large white styrofoam floor is enormous and my eating was STILL piping hot when I came home with him over my car. long story short, china palace 6605 airport blvd- zip: 78752 - (will get my at leasing 3 times a month)."

"The food and location were great. However, the female waiter served me a glass of lemonade that was less than half full. When I mentioned this to her, she merely shrugged it off and continued with her other duties, seeming to dismiss my concern. I also noticed the shorter waiter, who was not very attentive. I ended up paying $195, which is quite pricey for just a simple lemonade. You would expect a full glass to be served in a professional manner, as many other restaurants do."

"I placed the order for my mom. Not until I stopped by to pick up order food they inform me that one of my 4 entrees was not available. I wish they would 've at least called me and asked if I wanted to substitute it with another entrée but they did not. They then informed me I had to call "the organization "to get a refund without telling me what organization they were talking about!!! They finally brought me a phone number where I was supposed to call And it took 15 more minutes on the phone trying to talk to someone from India to get my $20 back while my elderly mom say in the car waiting I was so frustrated!!"

"I am very grateful to have found this hidden treasure! Even though I have not been able to dine in at the restaurant yet (because of the pandemic), I order takeout from here at least twice a week. "I ordered $66.00 worth of food that was completely inedible (I hope the trash gods are pleased). The egg foo young was drowned in a tasteless, watery gravy, and the beef fried rice was missing both beef and flavor. Of the four items I ordered, the sweet and sour chicken had some flavor, but the sauce had pooled at the bottom of the container. This was my first and last experience with this restaurant. "china delight has the best vegan options of any Chinese restaurant that I was. tofu, tempeh and sincean options for all meal times that are chefs are also extremely accommodating and will modify every dish to give them exactly what they want. the owners are very health conscious and are at least vegetarian, possibly vegan. depending on what they are looking for, they can stir deep-fried tofu in sweet and acidic sauce with fried rice, or super fresh and crispy stir fried vegetables and protein without oil (if they request it). in the round you can eat the classic “American Style” Chinese, but vegan, or you can get a healthy vegan dish. we order the vegetarian joy reisnudeln and the beans with tofu, and have rest for several days. the vegetarian fried wintons should die."

"I ordered delivery on Saturday night at 7:30. I ordered a General Tso Combination Plate with Crab Rangoons. I was told I needed to add “anything” to meet delivery minimum so I added a can of soda. It took 20 minutes to arrive, but I am just down the street. I did not receive the can of soda I had to add on. The chicken was hard on the inside and soggy on the outside with no sauce. The rice was bland. The Crab Rangoons were okay. Everything just seemed like it sat out for a while. The quality of food has changed since I had dined in years ago. It was disappointing when I had paid $32 with tip and didn’t even eat half of it. Maybe it was just a bad night, but I wasn’t expecting that quality at 7:30 on a Saturday when they close at 10."

"I used to frequent this restaurant twice a week when I worked nearby and absolutely loved it. Recently, I had a strong craving for their food and decided to make a special trip to visit. It appears that there are new owners now, as everything seems to have changed. The Crab Rangoon, a standard dish in Chinese cuisine, was overcooked and almost empty. It was so tough that it hurt my teeth. The HungSue Chicken would have been decent if the chicken wasn't extremely dry. I didn't even bother trying the egg roll, and they forgot to give me my Pot Stickers. I am very disappointed and will not be returning. It's a shame."

"I've been living in Kentland for over 20 years and this is our spot. My only issue is that when they are late with delivery, their customer service is poor. They don't apologize for the inconvenience, they don't compensate you. Recently I got rushed off the phone with no explanation as to why I placed an order over 1.5 hours ago and still no food. But... the food is great. Just be mindful on busy nights your food may get delivered late, plan accordingly."

"Nice ambience, terrific location overlooking the river, and genuinely terrific food. Out friends took us to Lucky Garden from over an hour away. They've been going there for more than ten years because they like it so much. There was an ownership change and my friends say the quality hasn't gone down at all. I had a Szechuan tofu dish right off the menu. It was very good and seemed entirely authentic (I lived a short time in Hong Kong but have never been to Szechuan Province; I have, however, spent a lifetime eating Chinese every chance I get). I found the vegetable dumplings to be a little dull; the wrapper, although a little thick, was perfectly flavored. My wife had mushu shrimp. It was delightful; the plum sauce was oddly thick, which that may be a regional variation, to but it had a great flavor. One of our friends ate from the buffet which I gather he always enjoys. The other had a steamed seafood assortment that she enjoyed very much. We will definitely be going back, commute and all. I couldn't recommend Lucky Garden more highly"
