"You’ll get a good amount of egg noodles in a regular bowl; they’re thin and firm, which is pretty standard and authentic for a casual dish. There’s also plenty of broth, but I’m not a big fan of too much broth—I’m more of a #extranoodles person (they offer extra noodles as an add-on, so you can customize your bowl while keeping it authentic to traditional Japanese ramen). The portion sizes aren't overly generous, but they seem to be trying to be cost-effective given that the place wasn’t packed. However, there are several types of noodles to choose from when you dine in, even though it was quiet (it's South Dakota, after all—we love our Culver's and Sickies’ Mac n’ Cheese bowls). They offer a nice selection of drinks, including some Asian options that are definitely worth trying over a soda. Ramen Fuji competes well with Sora Ramen in Las Vegas, which is popular among Asian executives for lunch or dinner. If you stick to a bowl and one side, without a drink, you might keep your bill under $20. But if you’re someone who knows their ramen, you’re likely to spend over that. Overall, it’s a niche, hole-in-the-wall kind of place. I recommend trying it at least once—impress your friends or drop by when you crave a hot bowl of authentic ramen in Sioux Falls. If you’re visiting the area, definitely stop by, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and savor the food. Enjoy!"

"The 3-star rating is specifically for takeout. Dining in is a much better experience, although wait times can be quite long because the restaurant is very small. The sushi is fantastic — enormous portions and very high-quality fish. The salmon belly is my personal favorite. Prices have gone up a bit, but considering the size of the portions and the overall increase in food prices, that 's completely understandable and I have no problem paying more. The issue is with their takeout service. I 've placed several to go orders and at least half of them have had delays. My most recent order was placed at 3:30pm with a selected 7:20 pickup time. I didn 't actually get my food until 8:30. Yes, it was Valentine 's Day and I 'm sure they were busy, but isn 't the whole point of ordering well ahead of time to give the restaurant the heads up they need? By the time my order was ready, one of the items I had ordered had sold out. They refunded me the price of that item, but they didn 't adjust the 10% to-go surcharge amount or the tip. The service they use does not allow you to change the tip amount after you place your order. All online orders include a 10% surcharge, which I 'm not a huge fan of, but I assume they 've added that because of poor tipping. So I simply adjust down the tip so the total still comes out to either 20% or 25%. I 'm sure the surcharge is a shock for some, however. This remains my favorite sushi spot in Portland, but they really need to improve their takeout system. If you go (and you should), make sure you dine in."
