"This restaurant no longer has a drive-thru service. Customers must go inside to pick up their orders or choose carry-out. Orders are placed online, through the app, or using the kiosks provided. Despite the lack of a traditional ordering process, the food is still of good quality and prepared quickly. The staff working during my visit were all very helpful and respectful. They even gave us extra onion rings as a gesture of apology for a slight delay in our food preparation. The interior of the restaurant was a bit dingy and dirty, but it was late in the day."

"The food was very fast and hot. Very tasty steakburgers and nice thin crispy fries. The staff was very kind. The business model has changed for the better in my opinion. I had not been to Steak N Shake for years because even though I always liked the food, the service was not very good and fast. Now all they have are ordering kiosks and the drinks are self-serve. My experience at this location was excellent. Very clean dining room."

"This is a decent 1950s-style burger joint. They serve thin fries, milkshakes, and delicious burgers. It's also one of the few places that offers hot dogs. However, the service can be a bit brusque, and the kitchen looks somewhat unkempt from the drive-thru window. Update 1/2: I waited 20 minutes with three cars ahead of me before finally leaving. The speed of service is incredibly slow!"

"Staff are quite friendly and seem to enjoy working here. The bathroom left much to be desired in one stall that needed attention but i let them know. I ordered the Swiss and Portobello mushroom burger and fries and an ultimate banana milkshake... The shake is really good and the burger was amazing as always their fries definitely could use some work they were not fresh and I didn't really get very many. Regardless, three out of four isn't bad overall it was very good."

"first time I've been eating here, like I've never seen or heard of this place. my three stars are for them alone? that was not my cup tee. wilma, who was super angry with my job. what would explain why my eating was excessively salty. To be honest, this was not my cup of tea, so I had to put that sandwich in the müllcontainer. the outside seat was sweet."

"Always closed! Always says open online but when physically going there they are always closing literally like 2HRS EARLIER then the sign says and what says ONLINE! Sometimes they switch it up and will be closed for 2-3 days at a time just randomly! If your not open atleast put that online or when calling a automative message stating they’re closed so IS CUSTOMERS are constantly driving there wasting gas and time."

"Never fails the few time we have been there the wait staff is slow. They will start you quick but take forever to come back and get the order. Then after we have our meal we do see them again until they bring the check to the table and ask if we need any thing. Yes, it would have been nice if you came by earlier to refill our drinks or bring a few more napkins any thing would have been nice. I guess the employees think it's better to stand behind the soda fountain and talk when there is customers around."

"The restaurant was very nice and clean, with great food and friendly staff. The ambiance was perfect and contributed to our overall experience. "I absolutely love Steak and Shake! I make sure to visit at least once a year when I'm in Florida. It's a burger place with a fun fifties vibe. While it's not as upscale as somewhere like Shake Shack, the prices are about a third lower, and the meat is incredibly delicious. I really wish they would expand and open locations in the Northeast. Great food, fantastic shakes, and excellent value!"

"The Steak n Shake in Grapevine gives off a classic 50s diner vibe, complete with table service and delicious food. "Always a nice treat urself some steak n shake anytime that I possibly can. The fries ? are smaller than the average but they fire, add some cheese to the side for dunking the little fellers and can dunk ur steak burger in as well. They quit carrying the mushroom swiss but have plenty of other great yummy burgers. They also started putting the kiosk self ordering machines in most steak n shakes. So you have to order whatever you want from these machines now. Also I noticed my shakes got some color added in, and some funky tasting big round paper straws. My 3 shakes were , ? and ? throughout. Maybe they have always done this??? since I usually only get cookies and cream, I tried strawberry this time. Them paper straws are nice but really have a funky taste to them, like I'm drinking through a newspaper. Food came fairly quick, after shakes, waiter did his job, tore into our meals and out the door we went. You pay right there at the kiosk, felt kinda unsure about leaving a tip since we had to wait on ourselves, didn't get soda, so no refills. But we still all left a few bucks apiece and felt better that we did anyhow. 5 stars"

"First time back to Steak ‘n Shake in years, I was super excited to relive some of my childhood. I was disappointed to see that steak ‘n Shake no longer does tableservice, and the shakes now come in a Styrofoam cup instead of the big glass company used to come in. At this particular establishment the food was OK, the bathrooms were pretty gross though. I would recommend holding it until you can get home!"

"I can't believe they are asking if customers would like to leave a tip before you even get your order in. Here's a tip for any dine in customers, stay in your vehicle and go to the drive thru if you really want the food. They were giving away shakes if you filled out a short survey with Web address and code at the bottom of your receipt, wouldn't you know it? My receipt didn't have the web address and code. I wonder if it's because I didn't give them a tip. And why should I give them more money? They won't even take your order anymore or even pour your drink, which btw is not free refills anymore. Still when I asked about my receipt not have any web address and code to fill out the survey the lady passing out the shakes ave me someone else's receipt. So I tried it and wouldn't you know it? It had been redeemed already. What is wrong with this store?Anyway... Stay in the drive thru if you don't want to be disappointed"
