"I tried the Chili Gobi, asking for it to be spicy. Unfortunately, it was not crispy at all and lacked spiciness. It was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. I might try the Gobi Manchurian to see if it's any better. I love Palak Aloo Saag, so I was pleased to find a vegan version on the menu. I requested it to be spicy, but it was just okay. It wasn't the best I've had, and it felt like it was missing something. The Poori was different but fine, while the vegetable samosas were delicious with their crispy, flaky texture and well-seasoned filling. The menu clearly marks vegan options with a "V" and also includes labels for gluten-free (GF), nut-free (NF), and dairy-free (DF) dishes. I would like to try more vegan items like the Bhindi Masala and dosas. Overall, I might return to this restaurant, but it wouldn't be my top choice based on my experience."

"The food was amazing. The food comes in large portions, so if you order a dish it’s very shareable. If you get “medium” spice, it’s pretty hot The price was nice for three large dishes (around $60+ . Only downside was the amount of time we had to wait for someone to come to our table to order when we first sat down (about 15+ minutes , but overall nice place to take someone."

"The flavors here are fantastic! We ordered butter chicken, chicken curry, and butter naan, and everything was delicious. They will ask you about your preferred spice level. Since it was our first visit, we opted for mild, which turned out to be quite gentle, so we'll definitely try something spicier next time. We will certainly return! The service was excellent, and they even offer complimentary mango soft serve, which was light and tasty. If you're looking to step away from the usual dining options in Jacksonville, this is the perfect spot!"

"On a whim, I decided to grab some takeout and chose this Indian restaurant since it was the closest option. Overall, I had a great experience! The restaurant may be small, but it has a lovely atmosphere and was very clean and tidy. The owner was incredibly gracious and welcoming. The prices were similar to other Indian restaurants I've visited. I ordered onion kulcha and paneer makhani, and both were delicious. The spice level is a bit hotter than what I'm used to, so be mindful of that. However, the flavors were fantastic, and the portions were generous. While I've had better onion kulcha (this one was a bit thinner than I prefer), it was still quite tasty. Their vegetarian menu is more extensive than many other Indian places I've been to, which already offer a good variety, so I’m definitely planning to return to try out some of the other dishes that I can’t find elsewhere. Overall, it was well worth the drive!"

"We (party of 5) essentially had the place to ourselves on a Thursday evening so we felt super safe dining indoors. The place was recommended by my friend who used to dine at Big Suchir 's original location (inside a grocery store). They have your standard menu items as far as Indian restaurants go but there 's a secret menu item that this place is known for (must try). The Bajra na rotla (pearl millet roti) is served with jaggery, ghee, garlic chutney and a plethora other sides in a metal tray. Here are the other accompaniments (described from my POV): Baingan Bharta mashed eggplant with onions, peppers, tomatoes, spices, etc. Tomato Dal tomato base soup with crunchy noodles Kadhi milk based soup made of chickpea flour, curd and jaggery Khichedi spicy lentils and rice Chaas yogurt drink (lassi) The flavors, all very distinct, work well together. It 's also very filling! Expect that it will take some time (30 min) to get your food as these items are made fresh. There aren 't too many places that do this meal well from what I understand so it 's worth the trip if you 're adventurous."

"the bombay palace is a jewel of a restaurant located in front of location, with authentic and tasteful Indian cuisine. Although it is a small restaurant, it is immaculately clean, the service is fast and polite, and the staff is very dedicated to the needs of food. we often have the same server every time we eat here, and he always remembers our usual order the samosas, chana masala, veg jal frazie, and two roti, all without milk. the vegetarian section of the menu is extensive, and they can be made vegan for almost everything on it (with obvious exceptions, like the discs). The roti and samosa are also vegan when they order them without butter. they're taking your guts on a little car. they get a huge common plate of cardamom jasmine rice, and each curry comes in a tiny carnival (a bowl over a candle to keep it warm.) the server checked to ensure that everything is in order, and then leave them alone, except their drinks once or twice refilling and coupled with the private stalls and Indian music playing in the background, this creates a very cozy atmosphere. everything we've ever eaten in the bombay palace was phenomenal! this is one of our favorite restaurants."

"Surprisingly, this has been some of the best Indian food I’ve had in Tampa. It’s a shame that the location on Kennedy is only open for takeout and has no indoor seating. If it weren’t for the food being cold when I ate it, it would probably be 5 stars. The Methi malai chicken might be my new go to Indian curry. The chicken was so tender and the sauce was very creamy. There was very little spice at all, and they didn’t even ask how hot we wanted it. The Kerala poratta was good as always. The butter chicken dish did not hit the same as the malai, it almost tasted like tomato soup and was kind of off putting. Stick to the malai if you are going here."

"I placed a phone order and specifically requested that the food be non-spicy. However, it turned out to be extremely spicy, making it inedible for my children. When I called to address the issue, the woman on the line insisted that her manager claimed it was mild, as noted on the invoice. She continued to argue with me, seemingly confident that they knew the food was mild. It felt as if she had personally tasted the food before sending it out. I typically enjoy spicy food, but even I found it too hot to handle. Ultimately, we had to throw everything away. I won't be ordering from this place again."

"Service was very good, buffet had wide spread of Indian cuisine, must visit restaurant around northwest Indiana. Here 's a draft review based on your input: *5/5 stars* I had an exceptional dining experience at Tandoor Cuisine of India! The restaurant truly lives up to its promise of serving authentic North Indian cuisine. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was top notch. The standout dish for me was the Butter Chicken it was absolutely divine! The flavors were rich and well balanced, and the portion was generous. I was impressed by the attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of the dish. Overall, I highly recommend Tandoor Cuisine of India to anyone craving delicious and authentic Indian food. The quality of the food, combined with the excellent service and cozy atmosphere, makes it a must visit restaurant. I can 't wait to go back and try more of their dishes! Feel free to modify or add to this review as you see fit!"

"First time dining at an Indian food restaurant. Celebrated my birthday with family. It was a very good experience. We were a little worried about the spiciness of the food and if the kids would be able to enjoy it. I did not get the name of the person who took our orders but I believe he was the owner or manager. Very nice guy who made recommendations and answered our questions. We all loved it, even the kids ! I would definitely go back and I highly recommend this establishment"

"I went to the restaurant and had ordered Idili and Gobi Manchurian for take out. The server gave me physical copy of menu card. Then when I got the bill the price was higher as compared to physical copy of menu card. I did ask them about the difference, they said that the menu card was not updated with the new prices. I checked their website, and their website had the same pricewhich I saw in their menu card. The food itself was just okay and not worth the increased price. I had ordered the food based onprices shown to me and a restaurant is supposed to provide the food at the cost shown to customer!"

"My husband ordered the mild ginger chicken Biryani, but it turned out to be very spicy! It was so hot that we ran out of water at the table and struggled to cool it down. It would have been helpful if the server had warned us about the spice level. I opted for the mild chicken, which was good, albeit lacking in spices, but still quite tasty. Since it was our first experience with Indian cuisine, we didn’t know what to expect. While we are open to trying Indian food again in the future, we won’t be returning to this particular restaurant. The service we received was disappointing and left much to be desired. If you’re indifferent to the quality of service during a dining experience, this might be the place for you, but it definitely wasn’t our cup of tea."

"I was craving for Indian food so took my American husband there for lunch. No server, all self service. You order the food and come in boxes. They give you paper plates if you want to dine-in. Honestly, I didn’t liked the food or the environment. It’s more like southern Indian flavor. Ordered butter chicken lamb korma. Korma was with curry leaves, and butter chicken was too sweet tomato sauce. I’m not sure if the cook knows to cook North Indian food. I like East North Indian food, Southern food is not my type."

"I thought the restaurant was nice, clean and a great place to bring family and friends. My fiancee is from India so it was important for me to find a place where she could get the type of food she desired and missed from back home. She did the ordering as she could read what it said and knew what the offerings were as I did not. There was one main dish that she requested and it came out, not to her liking. She brought it to the waiters attention and he just shrugged and said, thats how they make it and offered nothing to replace it or a redo or even subtract it from the bill. That situation could have been handled differently and I am disappointed that she just left the dish there, and trust me, she is one that never throws anything out, so it must have been bad, Other than that, the evening was nice, we enjoy our time together and the restaurant on the whole was worth the drive."

"I really wanted to like this place, tried 2x before pandemic and the experience was really good one time and so so the 2nd. Decided to give it another try as it’s been a few years.I went on Wednesday evening and they were offering live dosa in addition to regular menu service. Decided to try it as they offered 6 or so varieties and it was unlimited for 17.99.The first couple of dosa came out very dark and crispy so had slight bitter aftertaste. So the next rounds instructed cooked to make it less brown and it was slightly better. I tried mysore masala, andhra masala, onion , gongura paneer, cheese dosas. You are probably thinking I am a pig and how was I able to eat this many dosas. They were mini dosas luckily otherwise no way I can try all of these varieties.I didn’t find most of the combinations that impressive in terms of flavors unfortunately it could be due to the fact stuffing of dosa wasn’t very generous thus insufficient amount to bring out the flavor. Even the potato masala wasn’t that great as compared to other South Indian restaurants. They gave pani puri for those who got live dosa. I didn’t find it very good and would be disappointed if I had paid for it separately. Puri was too crisp and lacked taste. Stuffing didn’t seem to be traditional potato Chana but tomato onion mixture. There may have been potato but was such a scanty amount I missed it. Pani was meh, not terrible but not great either. The coconut chutney and sambar were delicious and the saving grace of the meal. You get serve yourself from the station set up next to live dosa. Sambar is vessel that stays warm which is awesome.Overall not sure I will do live dosa again as I felt I overate to feel I get my worth lol. For 2 ppl this meal mango lassi came out to 50 after tax and tip. This is tad pricy when food wasn’t satisfying taste wise. Those of you with less discerning taste and big appetite definitely come here.I love the concept of live dosa. And will come back to try their breakfast buffet sometime in near future.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options and gluten free too"

"Firstly, the variety of food on their menu is truly remarkable. From crispy dosas to fragrant curries and delicious biryanis, Saravana Bhavan offers an extensive array that appeals to all tastes. The authentic flavors and spices transport me straight to the streets of Chennai, and I commend their dedication to preserving the true essence of South Indian cooking. Now, let’s discuss the desserts – they are absolutely heavenly! Whether it’s the rich and creamy payasam or the delectable gulab jamun, their dessert selection provides a perfect sweet finale to a fulfilling meal. It's definitely hard to resist treating yourself to these delightful goodies. However, I do have a small complaint regarding the wait time. When you’re hungry and excited to try their delightful dishes, waiting can feel a bit lengthy. This undoubtedly reflects their popularity, so I recommend making a reservation if you're short on time. Despite the occasional wait, Saravana Bhavan continues to be one of my go-to South Indian restaurants. The variety of dishes and dessert options are exceptional, making it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors. I’ll certainly be returning for more!"

"Our waitress was delightful, the other gentleman who assisted with service was a bit gruff and maybe needs some pointers on service. Almost all of the food was very good. My naan on my Thali plate was burnt but everything else was really good! Highly recommend takeout as that appears to be the main business here."
