"I would never dine here again. True islanders or Jamaican people would feel insulted if they tasted that curry chicken or oxtail. Even the drinks were disappointing; the strawberry lemonade was overwhelmingly sour with too much lemon. Aside from the food, my husband and I felt scammed. The waiter was the only one working, alongside the busboy and hostess. When it was time to pay, she didn’t hand us a physical check but just showed it to us on her device. When I asked about a printed receipt, she said she could do that afterward. Then, when I inquired if the tip was included, she told me it was for the busboy and hostess, but hers wasn’t included, so I tipped her again. She never mentioned that there was a standard service charge. According to their website, a service charge applies to groups of four or more, but they’ve since changed their policy to a 20% service fee for all parties. However, the website hadn't been updated when I checked. Being misled is frustrating. We should support and uplift Black-owned businesses, but it seems like they sabotage themselves in pursuit of profit. I reached out to management afterward because I was dissatisfied, and part of my payment was refunded (hence the 2-star rating instead of 1). I advise you to ask for an itemized bill before settling the bill and not to get caught off guard. And yes, our total was $162 for two people: two meals, one alcoholic drink, an appetizer, and one drink removed... it's ridiculous!"
