"I 've passed this place at least a dozen times while in Hell 's Kitchen and had always wanted to go in. Before seeing a movie the other weekend a friend placed me in charge of finding a happy hour. The bar I picked next door was packed to the gills and then we saw a street sign that said $5 beers/wine. Sold. The name of the place confused me. The sign on their shop says in big letters Beer Cheese . So that 's what I figured was the name of the place but it 's really Vintner Wine Market . Small selection of house wines and beers on tap for $5 but they also have plenty of bottles for a $2 corking fee. Kind of average priced out. Nothing too out of the ordinary and a really decent selection of craft beers. The one thing I didn 't like is that the people that work here really push for you to have table side service so that you have to eventually pay a higher tip plus tax. I kind of just wanted to grab a beer, pay for it and can totally bring it to the table myself yet they insist on serving you. But it was all good because my friends also wanted to eat. The selection of meats and cheeses sold here are also pretty glorious. You can take meat and cheese cuts to go as well as bottles. To keep in mind the beer here is more accurately priced than a lot of delis I find in this neighborhood that will overcharge you for **** like 'Blue Moon '. Get out of here. There is an actual dining in food menu with tons of salads, sandwiches, paninis, soups, fondue, and cheese plates, etc. The sandwiches come out ENORMOUS so my friend insisted I ate half of his. We had the signature Mozzarella sandwich with tomato, basil, greens, olive oil, and added on prosciutto. It was so fresh and the prosciutto was tastier than I 've had at sit down restaurants. My friend 's wife went with a fancy grilled cheese that was filled with brie, cheddar, manchego, basil, and tomato. She said it was too cheesy and I immediately phased into 'I have no idea who these people are ' mode. Is there truly such a thing as too much cheese?! I tried a bite. It was beyond great. She ordered a salad to make up for it and was happy. I was drunk and started eating marinated olives. I hate olives typically but these were solid. The movie Solo was slightly better than I was honestly expecting (perhaps the beer helped) and I will totally be back to this place sometime soon since I have a friend that lives down the block."
