"First time back in Detroit (home) in many years. This used to be the top shelf restaurant back in the 70s when my parents went out and dined. It hasn’t lost its vibe and reputation as one of the finest in the “D”! Food was fresh and excellent, Pete our waiter was phenomenal and the ambiance was top notch. Highly recommend this as a must eat if in downtown Detroit. After dinner they have a nice cigar bar to enjoy a smoke and some after dinner drinks."

"We love London Chop and make a point to visit a couple times each year. The band was great and our waiter was very knowledgeable, especially about wine. Our only complaint was the Cesar salad which our waiter promised us was indeed a Cesar salad but looked nothing and tasted nothing like a Cesar salad. Since when does Cesar salad have spinach (no romaine lettuce at all), radish, and bread crumbs….even the dressing was off. The salad was good, just not the Cesar salad we had been looking forward to."

"We haven't been here in years and I was craving a good steak. We weren't disappointed! I made reservations online and got there minutes before my time. We checked in and in about minutes they sat us. We redeemed an online coupon and it went flawlessly without problems. Our waitress was extremely attentive but not overbearing. We ordered a the large starter, new york strip steaks with sides and dessert. Paid about before tip. It was great evening and atmosphere. I would recommend this place"

"I set a reservation for 14 people, later I called in and asked if I could add two more, I was denied because it would be too much for the waiters. Okay no biggie. We go to sit down, there’s only 12 places available, thankfully I have two people end up not showing for this event so it worked out, but the waitress said if we want or need anything we could always add more chairs or something (I have no idea where we would’ve added these chairs bc there was no room. For my reservation, I had an option for $10 to get balloons a cowboy cookie, and a card with a note. The balloons and cookie were great, however the card with a note was just an orange construction paper folded, and stapled at the crease with a hand written note. I was not very impressed by these things, however everything else was great. Just for an average dinner with a smaller party would be more acceptable. Not great for celebrating special occasions."

"No doubt, being Valentine's Day evening, the restaurant was VERY crowded. We had a reservation and arrived 15 min. early for it, but had to wait 35-40 minutes to be seated. We were given a booth, very happy about that. The service was erratic, at best, probably due to the crowdedness, and all the waiters were rushing here and there. Our waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed and somewhat forgetful about items he promised to bring, but overall, he did his best. He was courteous and friendly. The food was FANTASTIC!!! The prime rib and the ribeye steak were done just right, and the caeser salads were perfect in portion size and flavor! Overall, we were pleased with our dinner there. Thank you Black Angus!"

"Our server, Chris, elevated our experience at Madisons beyond my visit to other locations of this chain. He was friendly, extremely attentive and accommodating, and good at his job. You never know what you're going to get when you pick a spot in such a...prime location just across from the Bell Centre, where we had just bought tickets. My friends had this crazy idea that they wanted to re create the 6 drinks that 93 year old Queen Elizabeth II enjoys every day. So we were on a mission to find a place serving gin Dubonnet, the Queen's daily before lunch drink of choice. We started with the beautiful terrasse at Madisons. We arrived at the tail end of the lunch rush; so our server Chris was extra attentive and accommodating to our drink request. Maybe he even made the drinks himself, but he took extra care to find an acceptable substitute for Dubonnet (St Raphael) and otherwise follow the detailed recipe to the letter. Our search was over! We ordered a little food to accompany this unique cocktail: an order of nachos and a table d'hote order of a vegetarian pizza. Both portions were quite generous, especially with the cheese tasty and not greasy. It would have been nice to have add the option to add guacomole to the nachos. I also enjoyed the homemade cream of broccoli soup and brownie dessert that completed the table d'hote. Overall, I'd go back to this location before a game or a show at the Bell Centre, and I'd definitely seek out Chris. He made the experience memorable for me and my two friends visiting. "Our family to come to this restaurant. We always get attentive and quick seating at the door. There is a new menu but we all asked for the same burger, the Madison burger. It was delicious and juicy. We went with different side options and...they were all very good as well. The fries, the all dressed or what they call classic baked potato, the grilled vegetables they were all really good. We enjoyed a good time that even our six year old was extremely pleased and ate all of his burger, which is a lot to say from a kid that can eat nothing if he does not like it and he eats very little. We always enjoy coming back to this restaurant for the atmosphere."

"This was my first time at this restaurant. It was 7:30 on a Saturday night, and there were 6 people in our group. The place was not crowded, there were plenty of open seats, but we did not receive our food until 8:52! Maybe it was just an off night, but it was a long wait. We ordered the campfire for two, which included 1 starter, 2 entrees (with 2 sides), and dessert for $60. After a few drinks (due to the long wait for our food), our bill doubled! Despite the wait, the meat was excellent, cooked and seasoned perfectly. I will give this place a second chance, but will also explore other steakhouses first."

"Terrible experience! The two hostesses working on Sunday, November 12th at 6 PM were incredibly rude and lacked any customer service skills. Having worked in customer service myself for 12 years, I was shocked by their behavior. We requested to speak to the manager, who informed us that we would be seated next, but then the hostesses refused to seat us! Despite having a reservation for 6 PM, we were left waiting for 30 minutes, which they claimed was the wait time for someone without a reservation. We ultimately decided to leave and will NEVER return to this location. The manager should be embarrassed to have employees with such poor customer service abilities. They need to hire better staff if they want to improve from being just a 3-star restaurant."

"We had made a reservation, so we were disappointed to find that our table was located right next to the door. We endured a constant cold draft every time someone entered. We quickly considered asking for a different table, but were told that the open tables were "reserved," although we had arrived on time for ours. If a restaurant chooses such a location, it should take measures to manage foot traffic better. The food was delicious, but given the prices, we felt a bit overlooked, as if we weren't the right type of customers to receive proper treatment."

"My wife and I had a reservation. We walk in and there is absolute chaos at the host stand, 4 staff members all in a gaggle with no rhyme or reason. We stood and waited to be acknowledged, one young woman finally noticed us after about 5 minutes. We were seated for 30 minutes without even having the pleasure of meeting our server. While every table around us grumbled about how slow and unprofessional it was for the amount of money they charge. We also observed that it was clearly not a staffing issue due to the abundance of servers sauntering around the bar area and and the other dining area. There were multiple servers who walked by and not a single person asked if we needed anything. We got up and left, we walked past at least 5 employees and none of them seemed too concerned. I would save yourself the headache and go to the BJ’s the light before."

"We had the campfire feast which comes with 1 appetizer, 2 entrees with each entree coming with 2 sides and to finish 1 dessert . My husband had the full rack of ribs with garden salad and fries. For my entree I had the fire grilled shrimp with loaded baked potato soup and rice pilaf. With the shrimp they serve this very flavorful butter to dip it in. Oue appetizer was jumbo shrimp cocktail. Our dessert was mile high mud pie. Everything we had was very flavorful. My husband's ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone. Our waitress, Kalos, was friendly, and checked on us several times.UPDATE JUNE 1ST went tonight to use a 30% off coupon, good deal. Our server Amber, was excellent, 2nd time we have had her, she checks back a lot, very friendly, will ask for her in the future. My husband had the ribs, I had the double lobster tails because the price was so low. UPDATE AUGUST 28TH we went for the campfire feast. We were disappointed on our appetizer choice..jumbo shrimp cocktail..the shrimp was not jumbo and they were limp, the same thing with my entree fire grilled shrimp, will get something else next time. The best part of my meal was my corn on the cob which I asked for instead of broccoli. My husband liked his ribs."

"We dined on 4/21/24 to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was fairly early so the restaurant was just right. Our server named Jaclyln was very friendly took care of us was quick on all our questions requests. We enjoyed her happy attitude. Our meal was cooked perfectly. The only thing, but not that important, was that we were just served with our salads glasses of wine. Another server from the kitchen brought out our entrees, which was rather soon! Anyway, it wasn’t the fault of Jaclyln as she helping another table. The restaurant wasn’t too busy so we were a bit rushed. All in all, we enjoyed the meal our server Jaclyln who made our experience a fun enjoyable one. She is an exceptional employee. I hope she will know about our comments. "
