"We had a great lunch at Wa Jeal. Starting with spring onion pancakes (delicious) and ending with chicken and broccoli (again delicious), the lunch menu (rice, main course and soup) was very cheap and delicious. The environment is wonderful - brick walls and pretty decorations and the service excellent. Highly recommended!!"

"Not my kind of place. The bar / tavern had screaming, loud customers on a day when there was no one around. Really a tasting menu, teen plate, teen servings, bad value for money. The waitress told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild - they weren't and had to spit out with a burning mouth. Really embarrassing when I was treated. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables like me. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal."

"Modernist is a good bar that focuses on cocktails, but they don't use a menu. Experienced drinkers have an advantage when ordering. However, the bartenders are trained to create cocktails geared to each person's taste. Unless you're ordering a classic cocktail, expect to order by saying things like refreshing, dry, fruity, sour, and/or tropical. Mention any allergies or spirits to avoid. They also cater to guests wanting alcohol free cocktails. The indoor seating is limited so arrive early. Outdoor seating in the back is available but nobody will want to be put there in bad weather or stuck waiting for an indoor seat."

"I wish I could describe how amazing their little outdoor seating oasis is. If you can go there on a summer night, do it. My husband and I stumbled upon this place while taking a walk, searching for a place to eat. After we passed their cute little outdoor seating area, I knew this was the place. Such cute ambiance, with the palms, and the flowers...not to mention the food was delicious. Good portions, and their pulled pork reminded me of pernil. Flan was SO good. Only thing was their tiramisu was served frozen. Not a fav when expecting a spongy, soft coffee cake type of texture and receing a frozen block. Once we let it thaw a bit, it did taste good. : So that saved it. Super deeeelish otherwise and the waitress was so pleasant."

"We used to visit Iguana Cafe frequently when we lived nearby 20 years ago, so we decided to return for some nostalgia before a nearby concert. The food is still outstanding! We ordered the beet and burrata salad, Mediterranean sandwich, and lobster ravioli. The Mediterranean sandwich was a favorite of ours 20 years ago and it still tastes just as delicious and savory as we remembered! The drinks were also tasty, but it would have been nice to see some signature cocktails on the menu."

"Our family enjoyed the outdoor seating and the waiters did a great job of quickly pushing other tables in when it was raining out of the blue. We were under an umbrella and a big tree and didn't have to move and the rain stopped quickly. Our teenage kids weren't in many nice restaurants and they loved the creative starters, especially the homemade croutons on the Caesar salad, delicious! We all had very good meals and were too full for dessert, which is unfortunate because I have eaten the chocolate bread pudding with Baileys before and it is divine! There are so many tasty options and we enjoyed the scallops as well as the duck, key lime chicken and the flank. You can't go wrong!"

"Everything was was great. Good value, speedy service, nice selection, good attentiveness. The only weird thing is they have a lot of high top tables with no backs to the seats…just bar stools. Open Table gives you a choice when you make a reservation: high table, regular, outside. I chose regular and they had us at a high table. I had to stop the hostess halfway to our table but she didn’t mind switching us. Just not sure how our request didn’t get initially honored especially since it was an Open Table option."

"One of the best meals that I’ve ever eaten! It is so nice to finally dine at a rooftop restaurant where the food actually matches the amazing views! The Spicy Tuna Tacos started out with one set of amazing flavors and transitioned into another set of wonderful flavors while we were chewing through the smiles that this delightful appetizer put on our faces. The Grilled Fresh Whole Fish was simply the best that I’ve ever had. Sweet flaky melt in your mouth sublime deliciousness… Try not to chuckle while you’re eating… It is so good! The views and the breeze off the ocean from floors up made you never want to leave. The seating on the balcony made you feel like you had the whole restaurant to yourself even though it was quite full. Great service as well. Thank you Area Chef! "I was on the lookout for a different pub in the area and was pleased with the menu I saw. So, at 7:30 a.m. today, I finally decided to visit at 7:43 a.m. However, despite sitting at the bar, I didn’t even receive a glass of water. A young male employee didn’t greet us, didn't offer menus, and didn’t bring us water, but he did take the time to clear dishes and check on the only other couple at the bar. Meanwhile, the bartender welcomed a group of three who arrived after us, took their orders, and prepared their drinks. I can't shake the feeling that the service culture at this restaurant isn't great, especially towards certain guests. I will definitely not return and would advise others to stay away as well."

"The initial impression of the restaurant was uncomfortable and quite sad. A group of snobby 16-year-old girls were standing at the door in tight white clothes and sneakers, showing greed towards the guests. Their behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional. It was disappointing to see such young girls in that position, as it sets a bad example for others. The lack of proper greeting and attire almost made us leave, despite our love for the food and drinks at the restaurant. The staff at the door need to be properly trained on how to welcome guests with a smile and proper manners. The rude behavior at the front door left a negative impression on us and has caused us to not want to return. It is a shame that such behavior is allowed to ruin the overall experience, despite the great food and service provided by the waiting staff. We regret spending our money at this establishment and will not be returning in the future."

"Exceptional food in an authentic, non-demanding environment. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, which added to the great experience. For bread lovers, there are 3 different breads, all of which are made there and are all wonderful. I stop on the way out of town to pick up bread and take it home to friends. My salad was fabulous and the vodka chicken pasta (a specialty) was cooked perfectly with a wonderful sauce. The specials change with the seasons. Desserts are all made there and everyone looked great. We share the ice cream on Sunday with homemade caramelized marshmallows and chocolate ganache. It was wonderful. You can share it with 4 people as it is very large. We will definitely have dinner here again when we return to Mayo and Golf."

"We took our daughters and their partners out for dinner. The service was just okay. The appetizers, however, were quite good—we enjoyed the meatballs and Brussels sprouts. The cocktails were also very nice. One of our meals arrived about 8-10 minutes later than the others. Overall, I found the food to be overpriced and mediocre. My daughter ordered shrimp tacos, but there were only two shrimp in each taco. My flatbread was overcooked and extremely thin. There are simply too many restaurants in the area offering better food and service. While the bar is great, I don’t see this place lasting long."

"The taste of the food was between ok and good, nothing special. I had higher expectations after seeing reviews. I ordered a pasta dish with sausage. I guess pasta, sauce and sausage are homemade, but I was disappointed when the dish arrived with 3 small bites of sausage. I ordered a cocktail that arrived weak and mostly with ice in the shape of a juice glass. When the waitress noticed that I drank it in a few sips, I asked for another one, but without ice. What I got was an 8 ounce glass of milk with a dash of Kahlua in it. No way to impress. I just wanted a good drink."

"We took our adult visiting son to the restaurant who is a real foodie! We ordered the campfire feast and split it with our son. I have to say here, that the food portions were huge, including salad, bread, and best of all dessert. Cocktails were adequate, not super sized, but tasty. The one downside to this restaurant is it is starting to show its wear. Literally! The booth fabric is coming loose and the restaurant desperately needs an upgrade with regards to facilities. But you betcha I’m going back for a steak once again when I get the opportunity."

"The atmosphere was good, the noise level was ok, the food was missing. The service was very good, nice waiters and reception! The sweetness of the sauces in our Mexican food was very different and not good! Even the salsa for the fries was more like spaghetti. How do you mess up something simple like salsa? "I ordered the grilled filet mignon salad, while my husband chose the sea bass. I specifically requested romaine lettuce instead of mixed greens. What I received was just a plate of romaine and a piece of steak for $32. When I asked the server if the salad only included romaine and steak, he said he would check with the chef. He returned to inform me that there had been a communication error; they thought I only wanted romaine and steak. He promised to make it right, but when he returned, it was only with a few onions and three cherry tomatoes cut in half. I was really disappointed. My husband’s sea bass was good, but it looked like a very small portion. We've dined here several times, but after this experience, I won't be returning, especially given the price for what I received."

"Four of us went to the restaurant for lunch. We started with the Guacamole Shrimp Appetizer, which was lacking in flavor. I ordered a frozen margarita, but it was not sweet, watery, and had very little alcohol in it. My friend enjoyed her Mahi Mahi over rice, saying it was very tasty. I ordered the new Fried Shrimp Taco dish and requested Bibb lettuce instead of a tortilla. However, the server brought it out in a tortilla. When I asked for it to be corrected, the shrimp came back cold over a small amount of shredded lettuce. The server explained that was how the kitchen made it, which was confusing. Additionally, I made a reservation on OpenTable two weeks before our meal, but had to call twice to try to receive my points, with no success. Overall, lunch was expensive and with many other Mexican restaurants in the area, I don't think I will be returning to this one in the future."
