"I went back for the first time in about 6 years to use a birthday reward and was pleasantly surprised that quality was still fantastic. Well I hadn't been in since my son was born, and now that he's in school, my wife and I decided to go back while he was in school and use my $25 birthday reward. I have always enjoyed McCormick and Schmick's in the past, and they didn't disappoint on this recent visit. Yes, they are a little more expensive than your average American food restaurant, $11 for a cup of lobster bisque sounds steep. However, the ingredients are top notch, and you get a nice amount of lobster meat. They even serve it with the lobster meat in one cup and the bisque in another so you can see how much meat you are getting, then pour them together for you. The clam chowder is obviously much less expensive but still absolutely delicious. The fish tacos were actually reasonably priced and were two large meaty, flavorful tacos. The American wagu burger is fantastic. The filet mignon and lobster are, of course, one of the priciest combos, but it is really good. Even the bread and butter served with the soup are great. If I had to find something to complain about, I'd say the french fries that came with the fish tacos were just OK. Otherwise, everything was really high quality. I will definitely be back sooner than 6 years this time. Thanks for a delicious birthday lunch."

"Last night we celebrated my husband's birthday at McCormick and Schmick in Minneapolis. It was a fabulous evening with special menus with a happy birthday printed to my husband at the top. I started with the Millionaire Coffee that was great. Our server was wonderful. She knew the menu well and had a great sense of humor. We had a private stand that made it a little more intimate. We ordered a variety of appetizers from shrimp cocktails to Oysters Rockefeller. All were beautifully plated and tasty. The main courses met all expectations. I had the Ultimate Mixed Grill. The crab filled shrimps and the crab cakes were my favorites. We also had the North Atlantic Lobster Tails, Center Cut Filet Mignon, and I think the Palm Beach Mahi Mahi. All were beautifully presented and were beautifully seasoned and delicious. The desserts were a perfect way to complete a great culinary experience. Because it was my husband's birthday, he got a free Chocolate Volcano. Again, the presentation was great and she disappeared quickly. The rest of us shared the chocolate bag. White chocolate mousse, fresh berries and whipped cream in a bag of chocolate. It was absolutely decadent! We had an interesting conversation with more employees when we were gone. We never felt hurried. The whole evening was great and relaxed. My only complaint is that we were not told which pages came with each main course and did not say it on the menu. That is why we have ordered additional pages that we did not need. Apart from that, it was the perfect culinary experience."

"we went to mccormick's New Year's Night. our table was not completely finished when we arrived there, so we went to the cruise room (prohibition bar in the hotel) and ordered drinks. our server was great, but the drinks and the check lasted almost 15 minutes, which would not have been a big thing, but of course our table was ready after only 10 minutes, so it was a bit unpleasant. I'll say they had the best drinks I ever had! So it was worth waiting. as for dinner, the wine of the day was delicious, like the mushroom flatcake supply we ordered. our server was very sweet, and didn't disturb us very much, which was nice because we didn't feel rushed or pressure left on a holiday night. Unfortunately both of our Steak dinners were cold when they came to us (again, New Year's night probably made them more business than usual.) they took the back of my man and cook him again, and our server said the manager was over to talk to us, but he never came, nor did we get any kind of rabatt for the cold meal. it was quite expensive the drinks in the cruise room were close to $18 each inclusive top and the steak dinner were delicious, but not necessarily worth the $40 price tags. also we were laid behind the bar in the walk from the bar to restaurant, not actually in the restaurant itself, which was a little disappointing. Overall we had a nice time and it was a nice restaurant, but we will probably look somewhere else for the next silvester."
