"On Monday, July 17th, 2023, I had what may have been my stepfather's final visit to Pala Mesa Resort, and it unfortunately turned into a complete disaster. Pala Mesa Resort has been my go-to spot for golfing since my stepdad introduced me to it in 2000. We used to visit often and always enjoyed the kind and friendly staff. However, this time was different. The weather was unbearably hot when we started our golf round at 9:10 AM, and my stepdad, who was not feeling well, couldn't keep up. After just five holes, we had to call it quits. I tried to check into our room early to help my exhausted stepdad, willing to pay the extra fee, but the front desk flat out refused, despite the lack of crowds. I explained the situation, that this visit was special as it would likely be my stepdad's last, but they remained inflexible about their 4 PM check-in policy. It's disappointing how Pala Mesa Resort treats its loyal guests, not even honoring the option to pay for early check-in when needed most. This was meant to be a meaningful trip for my stepfather, but instead, it turned into an emotionally draining experience due to the heartless staff. I will now hesitate to recommend this place to others."
