"Have your event here! Mark Becker, the event coordinator, did an amazing job helping plan everything from across the country. 10 out of 10 from me and all my guests! I am located in Florida and am standing up in a wedding as a maid of honor for a best friend in De Pere, so I had the honor of planning her bridal shower. Being so far away, this was already a nail biting kind of task to complete since I couldn 't just drive over and plan anything in person. From the first contact to inquire about the space, I knew my event was in good hands. Mark responded to all my requests in a timely manner with professional advice for every aspect of the event. He is great at what he does because he 's got great communication and actively listens to what his clients are wanting he had awesome direction for making my event perfect. He was so flexible and accommodating on behalf of the business which made my experience with everything so stress free and delightful. Our event was in the smaller of the two rooms they have (which can be one giant room if you 've got a really big event), called the Niagra Room. Big windows allowed for lots of natural light, a beautiful chandelier was in the center of the room and two big flat screens hung in the wall for my picture slideshow I put together for the bride. Hats of to their kitchen crew and chef! The menu is awesome and there was something you could order for any kind of event. I opted for the veggie platter and cheese/sausage platters for appetizers. Wow! The chef plated them so beautifully which made my event look that much more elegant. For the main entree, I ordered the pasta bar. It came with everything! Salad bar, dressings, garlic bread, fettuccine Alfredo, and marinara penne. Mark staged the buffet table with lovely dishes and of course, the food came out plated so nicely. Everyone loved the food and many guests went up for seconds. Great job all around! Lastly, I couldn 't leave this review without complimenting the entire staff. Every host, server or bartender in the building greeted me, asked if I needed anything or offered to assist. Customer service is definitely a step above the rest here. Special thanks to Joe and Mark for serving our event. It couldn 't have been so successful with your willingness to provide such outstanding customer service. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

"My toast was burnt and so crunchy that I had to send it back, and my daughter's biscuits were similarly overcooked. We were told that there were new people in the kitchen, but to me, that's not a valid excuse. They should have someone supervising the kitchen, especially with how busy the restaurant was. At this point, we told the server that we didn't want anything else to eat. Our daughter could manage, but we lost our appetite. Then the general manager came over with the remade plates. I explained that we weren't interested, and he said everything was on him, so we could either eat it or throw it away. We ultimately accepted the food, still uninterested, but then I noticed something green in the bowl, which added to my frustration. We decided to box up the Laredo to take home to our other daughter. However, when the bill arrived, we were charged for our daughter's meal even though we were told by the manager that the whole meal would be free. When I brought this up, the waitress insisted that since she found her meal acceptable, we still had to pay for it. My husband, feeling defeated, said he’d just pay. The waitress then claimed she was going to get the manager again but returned saying the manager confirmed that we wouldn’t be charged. However, her demeanor suggested she was annoyed with us, as if we were just there to complain and get a free meal. I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning. This experience was far from what I expect from this establishment."

"We’ve been coming to the Beach Street Bistro for many years and it’s really only one of two restaurants that we visit for an upscale, seafood-centric meal with a stunning view of the sunset. I’ve never had a bad meal and I tend to stick with a selection from the “Just Caught” section of the menu. I’ve had grouper, mahi-mahi, salmon and other types of fish, with all of the various preparations offered on the menu. My favorite is the pecan crusted preparation, but it really depends on the fish. My sister raved about the “grassy key” style preparation during our last visit. We’ve also had the cranberry pecan salad, clam chowder soup, scallop entree, the pork chop, and surf turf. All were delicious. And, of course, the coconut shrimp is a must if you’re visiting Anna Maria Island! You’ll also get fresh bread and butter before the meal, and the entree portions are generous, so no one is going hungry. Finally, the sunset view. We typically call a week in advance to make a reservation for the outside deck. You can’t reserve a table on the deck specifically, but if you get an earlier reservation you’ll be able to request a table outside when you check-in with the host/hostess. We’ve always been able to get a table outside, but it is a small deck (4-5 tables, I believe), so be sure to plan ahead. As you can see from the photos, the view is unbeatable. We’ll be back, every year, during our future vacations!"

"I 'll start by acknowledging that it was a busy Saturday morning during our visit, so I understand what comes with that. However, there are things that can still be controlled during busy times, and I believe this is where Back Alley was lacking. Firstly, we my girlfriend and I were seated and greeted and received the drinks we asked for. My coffee was good. About five to ten minutes later a large group of six to seven people were seated at a table next to us. For whatever reason, their order was taken before us, as we were still sipping our drinks. Our order was taken shortly after that and we proceeded to wait for almost 40 minutes for our meals to arrive. During that same time, another table of 1, received his food before us in addition to the large group. This was very frustrating, but still, I understand that servers make mistakes, especially during busy times. Our food finally arrives and there was no acknowledgement of our long wait time...I ordered the hungry man breakfast burrito which includes 3 meats. I was very disappointed to find that 90% of the burrito was scrambled eggs and there was VERY LITTLE meat. The potatoes on the side were good....crispy exterior with a soft inside and seasoned well. Overall, it was a very subpar experience. On a positive note, the servers were polite and the environment was nice. Back Alley can improve by 1. taking food orders in the correct order that guests are seated 2. Acknowledge wait times if they 're long thanks for waiting and being patient, we 're pretty busy this morning. 3. Put more of what is described on your menu into the actual food. These are all things that can be controlled, even during busy times, which can turn a subpar experience into a good one. I hope Back Alley improves, as I like to support local businesses and I hope they succeed. But as for now, I 'll go elsewhere for breakfast. EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: allowing you the opportunity to remake the food might be reasonable on a slow day, but after already waiting 40 minutes being very hungry at the time and having to wait AGAIN, no thanks!"
