"I contacted a manager to explain what had happened, hoping they would understand the gravity of the situation and process a refund. Unfortunately, not only did this so-called manager refuse to issue a refund unless I returned in person to have the sandwich thrown away, but she was also incredibly rude and dismissive, showing no accountability for the poor hygiene in the kitchen. A professional establishment would typically address customer complaints with empathy and take the necessary steps to make things right.
Instead of offering understanding, this manager did the exact opposite—she refused to help, was extremely rude, and then hung up on me. Later, when I finally returned to the restaurant at the end of the day to return the sandwich (since they insisted I bring it back for a refund), the night shift manager was even more unpleasant than the woman I spoke with on the phone. When we entered and tried to explain our poor experience in order to obtain a refund, she immediately started shouting insults and pointing at us in a threatening manner.
After verbally assaulting us in front of other customers, she snatched the receipt from my hand, ripping it in the process, and stormed off to issue the return without informing us of what she was doing. It took her about 15 minutes to process the refund, which should have only taken two minutes at most. When she finally returned, she insulted us again, this time in front of a new group of customers.
I am truly appalled by the atrocious service this establishment seems to think they can get away with, perhaps because of their location in Marin, leading them to believe they’re entitled to this kind of behavior. They disrespected the wrong customer, and I’m pretty sure anyone hearing this story would think twice before dining there. This restaurant needs to be replaced with one that understands the importance of treating customers with respect and dignity, rather than showing discrimination, hostility, and charging excessive prices. They should be called the Barnshop instead of the Farmshop, as that would better represent the quality of service one can expect. This experience is a prime example of why places like Marin earn a reputation for being pretentious, rude, and entitled. A definite thumbs down!"
