"I have no idea what the other reviewer is talking about; this is my favorite restaurant! The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming, and they even remembered me when I returned after five years. It’s one of the few Asian seafood restaurants that offers such a diverse menu. They have everything from chicken and lobster to shark fins, duck, and oysters. And their egg rolls are simply amazing!"

"Dinner was a vacation date night with no kids. First, the food was excellent! Everything we had was well prepared, timely and delicious. In terms of understanding the overall dining experience, the place was very fragmented. Part southern comfort food, part seafood raw bar, part sports bar, part music venue (which was neither southern nor soulful based on the talent). Farmhouse feeling pics next to mounted fish. Irreverent (can I say crass slogan on staff shirt and entrance plaque. Some servers/hosts dressed up, other in jeans. Someone here hasn’t figured out what they want this place to be so it’s trying to be a little of everything and ends up jumbled together. That confusion was probably why there were plenty of tables available on a Friday night in season. But the food was outstanding so that’s always a great place to start!"

"We greatly enjoyed 1609 at Colonial Downs for atmosphere and food during the horse races in late July and again in late August 2021. We reserved the same table for both of our excursions. Hannah was extremely polite, personable and attentive both times. The colossal meatball which she recommended was delicious: a good combination of meats and perfect sauce.. With that and the bbq chicken sliders (also yummy), we were too full for dessert. The sliders had a wonderful sauce, caramelized onions and tangy slaw. It was simply perfect to have the reserved table. There is a fee for the table which we reserved online in advance. We didn't mind the fee as it gave us excellent access to the shaded balconies to watch the races during the heat of the day..and a base to come back to as we choose to watch some of the races down at the track/rails. Hannah welcomed us back when we returned from being at the track and checked in with us to see if we needed more water, drinks, etc. Overall a fantastic way to spend the day at the horse races AND enjoy excellent food!"

"This restaurant offers a fantastic atmosphere along with delicious food. The staff was exceptional and very attentive. Our waitress, Sam C, had a great ability to be present whenever we needed something without being intrusive. We started with bacon-wrapped scallops as our appetizer, which were incredibly tender and flavorful—there were plenty (8) for the two of us to share. For dinner, we enjoyed Pecan-Encrusted Stuffed Haddock and Maple Glazed Salmon served over risotto with cranberries and walnuts. I couldn’t finish the salmon, and honestly, I regretted finishing the haddock because it was just too good to leave behind. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take a doggie bag since we were on a motorcycle. The prices were very reasonable considering the generous portions and high quality of the food."

"My husband and I decided to have dinner out on Tuesday night. We had always wanted to try Olive or Twist and being it was a Tuesday night where many places are closed we decided it was the perfect time to try it! We started with the fried green tomatoes which had a great breading on them and a slightly spicy sauce. Yum. I had the crab cakes which came with 2 sides and my husband had the eggplant. Both of our entrees were delicious. And of course we had wine....with a very generous pour! Due to the pandemic the menu is limited but there is still a variety of apps, salads, burgers and entrees. The atmosphere with the piano bar is super cute. I would definitely go back."

"Don’t come to this restaurant. I went here wanting to try something new and local but was only left absolutely disgusted. The first incident occurred with my lemonade (which wasn’t very good, too watery). The lemonade had particles, almost like pepper. I asked for a change and the worker took her time to scan my cup like I was lying! The second incident happened while I was eating and discovered a hair in my egg roll. It was absolutely nauseating! I immediately let the worker know and she had the nerve to argue with me and demand that I should still pay! Mind you, she very obviously knew the hair was there. It’s a shame, because I would’ve had a great experience if this location wasn’t so nasty. Don’t come here if you aren’t prepared for the worst."
