"I absolutely love this restaurant, and I can’t believe I only discovered it this year! The minimal English here initially made me think the food might be mediocre, but I quickly realized that’s not the case. It seems like English speakers sometimes don’t bring their best culinary offerings. So far, I haven't encountered a single dish I didn't enjoy. The enchiladas are my go-to, but there are so many amazing options on the menu. The doña sauce is simply perfection! Oh, and make sure to order the ananas agua fresca if you enjoy something refreshing—it’s truly delicious. Just a heads up, they don’t serve alcohol here, so don’t forget to bring your own!"

"We made a reservation, but when we walked in, we noticed a lot of families with children and decided to sit at the bar instead. When we informed the hostess, she told us we would have to wait an hour and 15 minutes, even for bar seating. After I clarified that we had a reservation, she said it would be fine, and as we headed to the bar, I confirmed with her that I would still be checked in through Open Table as honoring our reservation, to which she agreed. We then ordered the fajitas for two from the menu. When they arrived, the portion size seemed a bit small for two people, so we questioned our order and discovered that the bartender had only input a single order. She offered to double the portion, but by then, we decided to keep what we had. The margarita she made, however, was fantastic! To add to our confusion, we noticed other customers coming in from the mall and easily sitting down at the bar, even though there were plenty of empty seats. This left us puzzled about the long wait time we’d been told about when we first arrived. Fast forward to today, I received an email from Open Table informing me that I had a no-show on my account because we hadn’t honored our reservation last night. This happened because the hostess hadn’t checked us in. I was a bit disappointed, as we occasionally prefer dining at the bar rather than at a table, and typically, the hostess checks us in. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication or some oversight, but I hope this issue will be resolved promptly."

"Been to Alicias' many times, ordered online many times never a complaint. This evening I order online for delivery and countdown to extreme aggravation. Order arrives in decent time but 2 items have been omitted. Easy fix, call the restaurant and let them correct the issue. Phone call picked up by machine stating extension 6363 not available and call ends, 10 times in a row (if not more). Boiling by this point, I jump in my truck and head to restaurant to rectify situation, still trying to get then phone call through. Mid-trip I finally get an answer, but too late, I'm beyond mad by this point because the half of my order that arrived is at home getting cold and drying out and now I'm halfway into a drive that I ordered online for delivery to avoid in the first place. Manager answers and the excuse I get is we can't answer the phone because we have so many orders. I guess they never heard of a hold button, answer all calls and place on hold, deal with customer 1 by 1 in order of call receipt. I'm told that the remainder of my order will be ready by the time i get there. Did I or did I not order for delivery? I get to the restaurant and a server expects me to just accept my order and be gone but I request the manager and get nothing more than my fault, sorry. I know mistakes happen, but this manager made no attempt to make anything right other than the order. Half of my meal is at home and cold, and I had to drive to a restaurant that I had already paid a delivery fee to for this poor experience. Again, still great food but hard to enjoy with the sour taste of the manager experience. The date of visit selection is not specific enough so; my unplanned visit was 1/9/22 around 7pm."

"I came during my lunch hour, I arrived and there was no one at the reception, I waited a while for them to serve me, when they seated me the waiter spoke reluctantly and forgot everything. When they brought my food the waiter left and didn't come back to ask if I wanted anything, I wanted hot sauce. He avoided my table and hid, I even went looking for him and couldn't find him. I didn't like the food, the worst restaurant I've ever been to in Fairfield!!!! Save your money and go somewhere else. Apart from the fact that the garbage cans are in front of the restaurant, the entire street stinks, garbage restaurant."

"This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants to visit. Both the food and service are great. I would give it 5 stars if it was open on Sundays, but I appreciate that the company gives their employees the day off. The prices have gone up, but it is still more affordable than many other places. I usually order the 2 taco plate, which is always filled with generous portions of meat."

"Decided to try something different for our date night and we were pleasantly surprised. A modest Mexican restaurant in appearance, but worth the visit. If you are tired of bland food, crowded franchise restaurants with bad salsa ,stale chips and wimpy margaritas then try this place out. "I understand that this is a Tex-Mex restaurant but the food was dry. The rice was dry and salty with no flavor. Beans had no cilantro or cooked onions and very salty. I ate Pechuga and supposedly the chicken was to be very soft and juicy. I found it to be chewy and not flavorful or juicy. We had 2 waitors, like actual waiters when there should have been 1 waiter and a helper. The waiters took so long to get the ticket to us and we found out that one of them was arguing with the other about taking customers away from him. What the hell was that all about. I was not impressed at all. It was very expensive for the food we ordered. But because my son and daughter in law got married and they decided to celebrate there I just paid the 300.00 for 8 adults and 2 kids. So I don't think I'll be back to Uncle Julios."

"I sent my husband to grab a few different items to try and I couldn't be more dissatisfied. First we got a 2 combo plate with a chile relleno, beef taco, rice, and beans. The chile relleno was very soggy with oil, the beef taco was pickled beef I'm sure(see photo), and the rice was very flavorless and mushy. The next item we ordered was shrimp cocktail. I had to take all the shrimp out and clean them myself. Not very appetizing. We ordered plain carnitas tacos and they were good. They weren't crispy but probably the best tasting food out of the bunch. Safe to say we won't be back. The service was great which is unfortunate that the food didn't match."

"I?ve lived in neighboring Lees Summit for over a decade and just heard about this place. The parking is weird as in not enough, the interior lobby is wasted space, but I?m not a restaurant owner so what do I know. The inside is pleasant. Much like every other Mexican restaurant. Vivid colors, unique lampshades, and comfortable ambiance. We went for their Monday specials: hard or soft tacos, beef or chicken for $1 each house special margaritas for $1.99 The tacos were double wrapped in perfectly thick corn tortillas and were NOT filled up mostly with lettuce and other unneeded toppings. The meat was cubed for the chicken and stringy for the beef. They were cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. We did order a side of guacamole, but not sure if it was worth it at $4.50. The chips were ok and so was the salsa. All in all, the experience was probably the best ?Mexican? food I?ve had in suburb land...ever. I say ?Mexican? simply because you?d have to go down to Kansas City, Kansas to get real, home made Mexican food. There is really no comparison between suburb Mexican and the real deal. Same goes for most foods from other countries I guess. Highly recommend this little gem!"

"I have been going here for years!! I have always loved the place. I eat here anytime I'm in Ft Worth. Although today I ordered the same .... Lunchbox with a club, fruit, And chips.. although today it cost me $18!!! All I got was a sandwich, little bag of chips, small piece of fruit and a cookie. "I guess I should have expected a suburban tex mex experience in Utah. You're better off getting a Mexican microwaved dinner from the grocery store. Beef enchiladas awful. Somehow spicy but also lacks flavor. Why do beef enchiladas taste like celery? Stoffers enchiladas taste better. Canned enchiladas tast better. Very disappointed Rice heavy on the bell pepper and lacks any other flavor Sopapilla can't believe this was $10. Sopapilla are supposed to be light and airy and this was a over sugared, flat, dense, and burnt. So bad."

"I had high hopes about what I had read and heard about Uncle Julio’s. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. My wife ordered the chicken tortilla soup. It came out quick, but no chicken. It was a small cup for not a very good value. I had the chicken steak frajita combo and my wife had the chicken, steak and shrimp combo fajitas. They came out warm, had to ask for our tortillas and Mexican butter for both of our orders. Had to wait and get table settings after the food arrived. Overall, the food was tasty, but not very hot. I think the biggest problem is the wait staff‘"

"So, we went to Avila's for dinner, and I have to say, as someone who has recently graduated from culinary school, I absolutely adore their Chili Verde! They use the perfect cut of meat, and the flavor of both the meat and the sauce is simply bursting with taste. There's truly no other place quite like it, and I must commend the chef at Avila's! The staff is fantastic as well—friendly and cheerful. I can't forget to mention that the beans, rice, and tortillas are delicious! The presentation and textures are excellent. I genuinely can't find anything negative to say about this place; it’s a fun atmosphere, and the service was outstanding once again. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. I’m genuinely sad to be heading back to Seattle because, on a scale of 1 to 10—where 1 is terrible and 10 is excellent—the Mexican food there rates only about a 4 or 5. "

"Great service! The chips were warmed served with salsa when seated in a comfortable round booth. My burrito was presented stuffed and wrapped to perfection, as well as, had a delicious cream sauce drizzled over the top that made me keep eating even when I was no longer hungry. I loved the way they decorated it with the flag and sauces to represent the cuisine. If I was going to nitpick Id say the cheese on very top of burrito couldve been a TAD more melted but it wasnt offensive or cold on interior of burrito and the taste was on point. The bathroom was extremely clean as well. Overall great experience and would go back."
