"From the moment we arrived, the guesthouse exuded charm and character. It's clear that a lot of thought and care has gone into the details; the decor is both interesting and beautiful, to the point where we felt we didn’t need any additional decorations for our event.
A particularly special feature for us was the presence of eight comfortable bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and thermostat, allowing our nearest loved ones to stay with us over the weekend. The expansive backyard, which overlooks a large lake, provided a stunning backdrop for our wedding ceremony beneath a beautiful maple tree.
I could rave about the inviting ambiance of the Vanderbilt forever, but what truly makes this place exceptional are the owners, Henrietta and Matt. They went above and beyond to ensure our weekend was memorable. From the very start, Henrietta was incredibly thorough and communicative, providing us with useful information while being flexible and considerate of our ideas. Throughout the weekend, both Henrietta and Matt were approachable and ready to assist in refining our vision without being overbearing.
Matt, the chef, created a menu that was a huge hit with our guests. We chose to stick with several of his signature dishes, but he was very accommodating with any modifications or specific requests. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the delicious food and cocktails, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our celebration.
We wholeheartedly recommend the Vanderbilt for any special event or gathering. The quality of the food, drinks, and service far surpasses what you'd find at a typical venue. We are so grateful to have tied the knot here and are already looking forward to returning for a more relaxed weekend in the future."
