"It was horrible. When we walked in we had to wait about 15 mins for a host to show up. We had reservations made for 11. It wasn’t even that busy. Then we were given menus and were told there was a buffet. Most of us wanted the breakfast buffet but some wanted to order off the menu. Well the waiter never came back to take our order. So we all ate the buffet. We also had two young kids. We were given crayon packs but no paper for them to color on. Then I asked for drinks for the kids right away and it took over 20 mins to get them. Will never do that again!"

"The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the pillows were great. The staff who cleaned my room (I was in room 230) were diligent and completed their tasks promptly. Ms. Sabo, the general manager for our event, exceeded our expectations. We work with hotel managers nationwide for our conventions, and her performance was exceptional. "I had a wonderful time at this restaurant with my good friend, and we were fortunate to snag a table outdoors for brunch. The food was delicious, although it leaned a bit on the sweeter side depending on your choice. We shared the MONKEY BREAD, which came with cinnamon, honey butter, caramel, and toasted walnuts. I ordered the CALIFORNIA BENEDICT, featuring a poached egg, avocado, sautéed spinach, tomato, and sriracha hollandaise on an English muffin—definitely a 5/5 recommendation! It also came with a side of potatoes that pleasantly exceeded my expectations. My friend chose the RED VELVET FRENCH TOAST, topped with cream cheese frosting, fresh strawberries, and crème anglaise. I also had a Bloody Mary on the side. Overall, the food and service were good, but the only drawback was the long wait time of about 45 minutes to an hour. However, considering that we were in Steerterville, it was somewhat expected. Despite this, I would definitely return, though I wouldn't go out of my way for Kanela. I'd give it a solid 4/5 for being a great breakfast spot."

"I have not had such terrible service in a long time. We had made a reservation for a table for 7, but it was not prepared when we arrived, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. The service was very poor, as we had to constantly try to get the attention of our waitress. We were served lukewarm French onion soup, not once, but twice! It was probably the worst version of onion soup I have ever had. Our meals were brought out sporadically, with incorrect dishes being served. I will never return to this restaurant under any circumstances."

"We had been at this venue in the past; however, it had been quite a while. With great regret I have to say that our recent breakfast experience here was truly awful. Any breakfast anywhere, including at small diners in very rural areas, was better by far. My pancake (so very easy to make) was dry, tasteless and literally fell apart when sticking my fork in. My husband’s omelette consisted of 90% canned mushrooms and hardly any egg. Coffee was good, service was friendly. Server brought me a bagel and scrambled eggs after I complained about the “pancake”. She saw right away what was wrong with it. The cream cheese that came with the bagel (small packages) wasn’t natural, one of the ingredients was “mold inhibitor”. This is not appetizing to read… so butter it was! Considering the price and the prime location in Newton Center… what a disappointment. Will never return."

"We made a reservation for 6. We were never informed that an 18% autograt would be added to the bill. We went in to watch the NBA Finals but where we were seated we couldn't really hear the broadcast feed. We were in one of the back rooms as opposed to the main room. While we had a large screen TV right at our table, it would have been nice to also hear the commentary. The food was good. Lots of choices. We had appetizers and dinner and I have no complaints on temperature or taste of the food. Once the place filled up for the basketball game service was painfully slow. We had to flag down our waitress to order each time. At the end, we wanted the bill split in 2. This seemed to be an issue. I'm not certain exactly what it was but the waitress did mention it had to do with the 18% autograt. Overall I would return if I was in a smaller group and not to watch a major sporting event."

"I took friends who were stuck for two days and nights at Newark airport due to airline cancellations for which United it did absolutely nothing for them Including no baggage- they finally got a place to sleep and at HoJoe’s at the end of the world so coming to the aviation grill for lunch was quite welcome. I was surprised that the service was a little bit slow for being an airport based hotel but I was also extremely disappointed to be charged $21 in the parking lot for an hour and a half lunch -there was no indication that there was a way to Stamp my ticket so it’s a little embarrassing as I was treating friends who are already stressed with no luggage in their 80s and stuck in the bowels of the north terminal neighborhood. of North terminal with no way to get around. The food was quite good though."

"Finding the restaurant was a challenge since we expected a restaurant, not a courtyard. There were over 40 people in line and we were not sure what to do, having reservations. Was this the line for reservations or just regular customers? As we sat, the waiter poured us 2 orange juices, which neither of us would have ordered for $6 a glass!! We learned a lesson there never assume anything is complementary. My friend ordered a turkey sandwich, but ended up with ham which she refused to wait another half hour to receive. Then it was another 20 minutes for the waiter to bring us the bill as people around us were eating, getting their bills and leaving. The food was good, but that's about all I can say. Honestly, the busiest weekend of the year and so many empty tables. What was the holdup?? Why was it so slow?"

The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, but unfortunately, the food was truly terrible. "we were one of two tables with people sitting, otherwise it was a ghost town at 18:30 on a Friday night. our server was great with a good sense of humor and a passion for a good care of us. the food was a real mixed bag. first we ordered our drinks, both (a beer and a wein) were not on stock. the brot was full. our salate was very good, not complaining. on the main meal the skallops had a strong ammoniakg smell and were not at their high point and were sent back. the steak was overall decent, somewhat rarer than I peg medium rare, and the accompanying kartoffels were great. the steak was covered with gravity, which I did not think necessary, but was tasteless. dessert was decent. I think we came in the "off season" for the marriott and it was really missing any kind of vibe."

"Thank the awesome service of the server, whose name is Christy. She made the overall experience amazing. That's what going out to eat is about not just the taste of the food but everything and that can be dictated by the service all in itself. Christy is a gem. I hope that the owners understand and appreciate her. The food was ok. My dish was the biscuits and gravy combo, and I will have to say I was a bit disappointed. The scalians on top of the biscuits and gravy overpowered the taste way too much, of course, which means they were fresh, but they were too generous with what they put on top. I did ask for additional gravy to improve taste, but the gravy itself is not extremely flavourful. I would expect it to be from a soul food dish. The biscuits were not fluffy they were crumbly. The eggs, though three are designated, we're not fluffy. They are also not very tasty, which leads me to question where the eggs come from and how fresh they are. My daughter says that normally, it's the chicken and waffles that are amazing. Next time. I come, that is what I will try. In addition, the morning delivery was blocking the disabled parking spot, which only there is one of, and the parking lot full in the back. This is illegal. I understand this space is small, but delivery should happen before hours or not be blocking that space. When I mentioned it, I was given excuses and not action. I had to stop the gentleman. I was speaking to and tell him to hear what I was saying. There are many selections to choose from on the menu, so I'm not going to assume my experience with my dish was the only one. I would care to guess with how popular the place is and the fact that my daughter likes It ... it means that there are other things on the menu that are fabulous. I do recommend this place. Everything was it's exceptional in the way of service and our food coming out quickly correctly and hot. Anything we asked for came right away. It was a very enjoyable meal and atmosphere. It was my daughter's birthday, so they came out with a waffle surprise with whip cream and berries that was extremely tasty. I will be back."
