"When our order was taken, I gave the server a coupon for a free appetizer, which was no problem. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. I was asked if I wanted another diet Coke, which I accepted. As we finished our entrees and the plates were cleared, our waters were refilled and I was asked again if I wanted another diet Coke, which I did. When the bills arrived, I noticed that the price of the appetizer was added to my bill instead of being subtracted. Meanwhile, my friend across the table had the price of the appetizer removed from his bill. I also saw that I had been charged $2.99 three times for the diet Coke refills. The server then informed me that there were no free refills on soft drinks, which would have been nice to know beforehand. In an effort to maintain good customer relations, one of the charges for the diet Coke was removed from my bill. Overall, the food was great but the service was lacking in competence."

"We had an exceptional time at the Pickle Barrel. The waitress was one-of-a-kind with her pleasantness and energy and patience and understanding and accuracy; in every way. She even took some group photographs that night. We stayed from until pm. The area we were seated in allowed us to be roaming to speak to others at different spots at the table without disrupting other diners. All round great experience with our friends in a great atmosphere. I doubt it would have happened in any other establishment except maybe someone's home. But we didn't have to do any work except invite the people."

"Last night we went to the Pickle Barrel at the promenade mall. 12 people in all gathered for dinner after attending a wedding rehearsal. The restaurant was fairly empty. We were seated at a long table and ordered our dinners. Despite being fairly empty, it took a very long time for our dinners to arrive. Meanwhile, the diners behind us had left leaving what looked like a good part of their meal behind and nobody came to clear the table for a very long time after these people had left.There were other tables also not cleared where people had eaten dinner. NOT a pleasant sight to see when you are waiting for your food .. One of the people in our party carries an Epi pen due to food allergies and despite telling our server who could barely understand what she was saying, instead of calling the management, proceeded to bring the wrong order to the table not once but twice. Our food was awful. My husband and I ordered different salads but both came with chicken breast the chicken was so dry, it was inedible. No point in asking for another salad each being that time was marching on, it was getting late and to be honest, NO ONE liked their food. However, one person did ask to order a dessert and was told by our server that he couldn't bring dessert as they had to close the restaurant to spray for cockroaches. We all felt ill after hearing this. We just couldn't wait to get out of there. A really awful experience. NO WAY WOULD ANY ONE OF US GO BACK TO THE PICKLE BARREL EVER AGAIN!!"

"During my first visit, I was impressed by the overall decor and the helpfulness of the staff. After receiving my soup bowl, I headed to the self-serve soup station, which also offered additional condiments. When I sat down and sampled the chickpea and butternut soup, I was delighted with the flavors. Once I finished, I looked forward to trying the Peruvian chicken sandwich, and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be returning for lunch!"

"do not make a mistake, this place is a dive; not a faux dive, an actual dive. but with that said they have a decent selection of beer, a full bar, a pool table and two dart boards, one of which is fucked into a semi-private lounge area. there are many screens that show a lot of sports. the menu includes burger and sandwiches and a quite decent selection of breakfast items. Apart from riding, the only thing I've eaten here is breakfast and they serve a good one. this area of southwest portland, not quite tigard, is a bit of a desert in relation to bars, so, sketching look despite, the bounty hunter is a reliable option. minus a star for a smelly, dingy bathroom without paper towels."

"Very nice restaurant/bar. This business has a limited food menu but what they make is quite good and very tasty. For our first trip here we had the Fried Pork dumplings, Arugula Goat cheese toast, Gyro and the Crab Rangoon. All three dishes were very well made and oh so tasty with the Fried pork Dumplings being my favorite of the three. This business also has a specialty cocktail menu where we ordered the Bourbon old Fashion and the Five Points Cocktails. The Five Points was OK but unfortunately the Bourbon Old Fashion was not up to par in my opinion where it comes across as a straight Bourbon on the rocks and was lacking any sweetness where I questioned if any sugar/simple syrup/maple syrup was used in the drink. Also as a pet peeve the drink was missing the signature cocktail cherry that is an integral part of this drink in my opinion and adds the extra texture/complexity/taste that a better made old fashion would have.Relative to the environment/service, it has a dark casual environment with comfortable seating over three floors and is really a great place to hang out with friends for a bite to eat or just drinks. Service was super friendly with great follow up and is definitely a strength of this business. Overall I was very pleased with our first visit here and would have given five stars overall had it not been for the sub par Old fashion. Having said that if you are in the area, you should definitely check this business out as the high reviews in YELP are definitely warranted. Also as a tip they have a Happy Hour menu comprised of some of their drinks and food on Mon to Fri from 5 -7 PM that you should take advantage of."

"The sweets here are incredibly rich, with options like the snickerdoodle sandwich cookie, donuts, or tarts all priced at $6. Everything is delicious, but the honeybee latte is the standout! (A small size costs $6, and they also offer chai and cocoa.) The breakfast items tend to sell out quickly. I recommend trying this place first for their unique and sweet donuts, as well as their changing breakfast menu. The food can vary from day to day. I highly recommend Bell's and Whistle Coffee House for their excellent coffee, drinks, and breakfast options!"

"The food is delicious customer service is amazing the place is beautiful. but if you don't want to lay out all the spreads and salads that you can put in to the bagels and baguettes you should at least put up a big sign with pictures or all of them so people can see it to decide what they want. as the thing goes people order with their eyes. And also I bought the Hawaiian salad it's delicious but I can not get the idea of including a tiny little Fork/spoon that's so hard to use why can't you include a regular Fork and Spoon together with it it so expensive? Thank you"
