"My fiancé and I, as well as friends and family, go to Akashi all the time and have been doing so for years! They always have great sushi, and I love their sashimi; the best part is their rolls are BOGO! There was only 1 time in the 20+ times I've went that I ordered scallop sashimi (hotategai), and it was not very fresh, unfortunately but I'll still give them 5 stars because no one can be perfect 100% of the time. I also would never get a fried roll again, anywhere for that matter as we got the deep ocean, and it was rather bland. However, that's my fault for choosing something I already knew I likely wouldn't care for (it just sounded so good on the menu), lol. At any rate, this really is one of the best Sushi Restaurants in Raleigh/ Durham/ RTP if you're looking for amazing food while not breaking the bank like if you were to go to M Sushi in Durham, or even Waraji in Ralegh (no bogo and you'll spend $160-$250 on a date night for 2).. I've been to both of them several times, and M Sushi, for the cost, is the best sushi/ sashimi you will ever put in your mouth on the planet! They literally fly their food in on a daily basis from Japan and New Zealand. I will also note that I've been to 30-40 different Sushi restaurants in the Raleigh/ Durham/ RTP area so please rest assured, I am a sushi die hard and have even traveled extensively across the nation and even internationally eating sushi so you can count on me for a good, truthful review. Here's a couple pictures of our take-out last night, which does not do the dine-in presentation justice, but it was still delicious!!!"

"Delivery Sushi Nirvana has been Attained!. Mori has somehow managed to combine two concepts near and dear to my heart DELIVERY and SUSHI. Mmmmmmmmmm......<br/ <br/ My beau is not a huge fan of sushi, so I don't eat it nearly as much as I'd like to (say, once a day.... . Because of this, we don't tend to seek out sushi when we do eat out, so I'm not well versed on the Seattle sushi scene. <br/ <br/ However, a few months back while the beau was out of town, I had a huge hankering for some raw fish and seaweed. I headed for my laptop hoping against hope that I could find a decent sushi place in the neighborhood because while I was indeed craving sushi, I was also feeling unbelievable lazy. Go get food? Huh. No, I think I'll have popcorn for dinner instead. <br/ <br/ I was hitting all the usual on line spots, searching for sushi with good reviews, and BAM! I found sushi (check in the neighborhood (check and...what's this? They deliver! Oh miracle of miracles, I think I just heard the angels singing! I burned up the phone lines calling Mori and placing my order. <br/ <br/ My delivery order arrived within a half hour and the delivery person was courteous and friendly. After closing the door and temporarily setting down my to go boxes in order to do an impromptu happy dance, I tucked in to wonderful, fresh, and flavorful sushi. I have since ordered delivery sushi from Mori several times and it's always been a great experience. <br/ <br/ The only thing I would suggest to make the experience absolutely sublime: Mori should look into on line ordering. Oooh, the thought just makes me swoon."

"Great value, descent taste and quick, friendly service! They have an unusual combination in lunch specials: Udon with salmon sashimi bowl. I also added spicy miso broth to udon for $1 extra. Spicy and miso are also a surprise, but the taste was very smooth. The bowl of rice is covered with a dozen or so salmon stripes, cut smaller than your typical sashimi but still has enough meat to fill me up. The salmon tastes rich and fresh, just what I expected. At a total of under $11, that’s a steal. I also ordered a side of edamame with garlic sauce, another surprise considering most restaurants serve edamame sides plain. My entire meal costed $15 and odds, and was so fulfilling I couldn’t eat dinner. I entered the restaurant after 2pm on a Sunday. The orders came very quickly. With three waitresses and at least one waiter, I expect orders to be equally fast on weekdays if you can get a seat. The space is really small, I think they have less than a dozen tables that barely seat four each. Decoration is light yet themed. (The Japanese name suggests ghost, so there are monsters on the wall. There is even a hint of Godzilla although I do not see it in display. Update: I have since come here several times with my daughter and have not been disappointed. This is surprisingly close to the Golden Gate Park. All in all, this is a great place to eat if you come to that area."

"Came here last night on a whim, but also was wanting to try this place. We were at TCBY (next door with the kids some months ago and we could smell the delicious food wafting from next door. The kids were away for the weekend this time so why not?! We came in (party of 2 and were seated almost immediately. The hostess (the first person who came up to greet us asked us how many in our party got two menus and a drink menu, looked around and brought us to a small table for two, literally threw our menus on the table on top of each other, and walked away. We sat down and each took a menu and looked them over. My menu had food splatter in it awesome. The menu was actually quite extensive and I was surprised by the choices. This morning, I actually read some of the other reviews and saw that sushi used to be BOGO. Not a big deal as this was never a promo we knew about so it 's whatever. I did come in wanting to get sushi so I was happy to see that Akahana actually had my favorite sushi on their menu! I say this because although we are new to the area, we have tried quite a few sushi places and have not found my favorite listed anywhere. For the record, my favorite is crunchy roll I 'm not that deep and don 't get all into the raw sushi, stop judging or I 'll judge your mama (I kid . I opted for the crab wontons (app , crunchy roll, and surf turf roll. SO got the Akahana Signature Pho (rare . He raved about it, by the way!! He got his with siracha and whatever the other sauce choice was to put it in. Actually, I swear he put everything in it that he could and had plenty to take home as the bowl was quite large and there was plenty of pho to share if he wanted to. Oh yeah, he also got fried dumplings, which is his favorite app to get. They were quite delicious. Now, let me tell you about my sushi. They were cut small and placed on the plate so neatly. I asked for no ginger or wasabi as I never use it and I didn 't want to be wasteful. Sushi isn 't supposed to be these large pieces that you have to fight to get into your mouth so these pieces were the perfect size! I believe I had 8 pieces each. I tried one of each just to see how they were. The crunchy roll was spot on! Just perfect! I ate the whole thing just happy as I could be!!! I now know where I 'll be getting my favorite roll from! The surf turf was also delicious and the cucumber inside was a nice cooling touch to it. However.... I only made it through 3 pieces when I saw something in the light. It was a hair... so gross... It was not my hair, but it was the same color as my hair so I double checked that it wasn 't my hair. I turned my plate all the way around. It could not be my hair because THIS hair was wrapped up in the roll and you would need to pull it out of the roll to get it out. Our server never bothered to notice that I didn 't finish my food nor did she ask if I wanted a box to take my sushi home which made me think people must throw out a lot of sushi when they come here. How can that be?! WHY Would anyone throw out perfectly good sushi? And why didn 't she ask me if I needed a box for it? The Pho was placed into a plastic container and when the check arrived, I finally said something about the hair because our server was completely oblivious that I had 5 pieces of untouched sushi on my plate still (HOW does she not notice this? !! She says she wished I had said something so she could have comp 'd the meal for me. She asks me to write our name and phone number down on the receipt so that the next time we come in, we can get a free roll. Now, I 'm not sure if this is an actual thing, but we did write down our information in the hopes that this will happen. I would like to mention that this incident won 't deter me from coming back because they actually had my favorite sushi roll and it was so yummy! But there were a few things lacking during our first visit here and I did 't fail to notice them. One last thing, in case you 're wondering like I was and our server was not able to tell us, Akahana means red rose. Google for the win!!"
