"Came here last night on a whim, but also was wanting to try this place. We were at TCBY (next door with the kids some months ago and we could smell the delicious food wafting from next door. The kids were away for the weekend this time so why not?! We came in (party of 2 and were seated almost immediately. The hostess (the first person who came up to greet us asked us how many in our party got two menus and a drink menu, looked around and brought us to a small table for two, literally threw our menus on the table on top of each other, and walked away. We sat down and each took a menu and looked them over. My menu had food splatter in it awesome. The menu was actually quite extensive and I was surprised by the choices. This morning, I actually read some of the other reviews and saw that sushi used to be BOGO. Not a big deal as this was never a promo we knew about so it 's whatever. I did come in wanting to get sushi so I was happy to see that Akahana actually had my favorite sushi on their menu! I say this because although we are new to the area, we have tried quite a few sushi places and have not found my favorite listed anywhere. For the record, my favorite is crunchy roll I 'm not that deep and don 't get all into the raw sushi, stop judging or I 'll judge your mama (I kid . I opted for the crab wontons (app , crunchy roll, and surf turf roll. SO got the Akahana Signature Pho (rare . He raved about it, by the way!! He got his with siracha and whatever the other sauce choice was to put it in. Actually, I swear he put everything in it that he could and had plenty to take home as the bowl was quite large and there was plenty of pho to share if he wanted to. Oh yeah, he also got fried dumplings, which is his favorite app to get. They were quite delicious. Now, let me tell you about my sushi. They were cut small and placed on the plate so neatly. I asked for no ginger or wasabi as I never use it and I didn 't want to be wasteful. Sushi isn 't supposed to be these large pieces that you have to fight to get into your mouth so these pieces were the perfect size! I believe I had 8 pieces each. I tried one of each just to see how they were. The crunchy roll was spot on! Just perfect! I ate the whole thing just happy as I could be!!! I now know where I 'll be getting my favorite roll from! The surf turf was also delicious and the cucumber inside was a nice cooling touch to it. However.... I only made it through 3 pieces when I saw something in the light. It was a hair... so gross... It was not my hair, but it was the same color as my hair so I double checked that it wasn 't my hair. I turned my plate all the way around. It could not be my hair because THIS hair was wrapped up in the roll and you would need to pull it out of the roll to get it out. Our server never bothered to notice that I didn 't finish my food nor did she ask if I wanted a box to take my sushi home which made me think people must throw out a lot of sushi when they come here. How can that be?! WHY Would anyone throw out perfectly good sushi? And why didn 't she ask me if I needed a box for it? The Pho was placed into a plastic container and when the check arrived, I finally said something about the hair because our server was completely oblivious that I had 5 pieces of untouched sushi on my plate still (HOW does she not notice this? !! She says she wished I had said something so she could have comp 'd the meal for me. She asks me to write our name and phone number down on the receipt so that the next time we come in, we can get a free roll. Now, I 'm not sure if this is an actual thing, but we did write down our information in the hopes that this will happen. I would like to mention that this incident won 't deter me from coming back because they actually had my favorite sushi roll and it was so yummy! But there were a few things lacking during our first visit here and I did 't fail to notice them. One last thing, in case you 're wondering like I was and our server was not able to tell us, Akahana means red rose. Google for the win!!"

came to dinner tonight and was cursed by the manager marquise. he refused to serve us on the terrace, although two other parties eat outside. when we asked why we couldn't eat outside, he told us what the f$ck doesn't understand that we don't serve you outside? will come here weekly, but not back.

During our visit from Upstate, my kids wanted to check out the Baxter area, and my daughter, who loves food, had a craving for sushi. We were not disappointed at all. Our waitress was friendly and very accommodating when we asked for a variety of dipping sauces. My son usually sticks to chicken tenders, but even he was impressed with the ones he received. I highly recommend this place!

I visited this restaurant for the first time after discovering it through a Google search. The food was excellent, and the sushi was both tasty and reasonably priced in terms of portion size. Our waitress was kind and very helpful, and the rest of the staff was also friendly and attentive. The ambience was decent for a Friday night, although we did arrive an hour before closing. Overall, I’m eager to return and try more dishes! View menu

he sat quickly on a clean table and cylie waited for us. She was friendly and professional. the food was fresh, fast and delivered in a generous amount. Recently I was discouraged to go in restaurants because the high prices and portion of food sink. the prices are particularly reasonable with the quality of food. the fat thunfish was delicious and grateful that this was on the menu. the rest of the competition has something to do! these youngs and girls are on their game.

First time visiting and food was good. Service could have been better although it was the end of the night, and they were closing in less then 2 hours when we arrived. We sat outside on the patio since the weather was mild in temperature. Plus the view is great for people watching. My friend ordered the Tom-Kha soup which I had a taste, and it was delicious! My date and I only ordered sushi. Will definitely be back to try their Pho and Pad-Thai. The watermelon roll was good, but felt like it could have been better. I Also had the spicy salmon which was subpar. Will be back to give this place another try just for the Tom-Kha soup!

I had the tempura garnels for an appetizer and the Sashimi plate for a entree and it was fantastic that I was very happy the service was prompt and the server was polite and pleasant and the eating was definitiw on point I mean absolutely 100% fantastic their presentation was very elegant but not harmless and their prices were on place for the quality that I would recommend to everyone that I go back to every case and I would recommend this. also the location was very convenient in baxter village with well illuminated parking places, which seemed very safe simple carbahn access and many parking spaces plus a few nice ice places and coffee places and wine spots close so easy to make a beautif... We went here on the recommendation of some friends because we love sushi. From what I understand, they used to do a BOGO special and they recently stopped doing it. I've read so much hate mail on this, but you have to understand that all restaurants are struggling and if they can't maintain that special right now, respect it! During the lunch hour, the place was not overly crowded and service was very friendly and fast. The shrimp shumai is some of the biggest dumplings I've ever had. They were very good, not too overdone. The sushi itself was average. Everything tasted fresh. The one thing that really left me stunned was the other waitress was vaping in an open area of the restaurant which...

this situation in continues mill has terrible service when it comes to ordering via the phone. I once ordered a salt and pfeffer calamari and it was not completely boiled both paints and the second time that I ordered salt and pfeffer flowers like I place at others, but instead of saying they do not serve it at this place they accept, I want to inform the calamari without me and I only find after I have already paid. the last time I ordered my lunch on the phone, I came to pick it up and noticed that it was sitting on the counter and when I was waiting to pay my order, someone else was given before me. So I had to wait longer until they make my order again, and all this because of them worri...

"Food has potential to be a 5.. (going to try to add picture) I do carry out for my meals almost every day, and I’m extremely picky.. I have some health issues, so I have to be careful what I eat and have been looking for a place closer to where I live for my days off work. I’ve had food from them a hand full of times and it’s really hit or miss. The salmon has been really good at times but 1 of the times it had absolutely no seasoning.. couldn’t eat more then a few bites. Customer service is lacking.. ALOT.. I told them how I like my steak and they advised me what boxes to check while placing my order online. I ordered the fillet and salmon with 2 sides. The fillet was very flavorful but also dry and over cooked.. I like my steak pink and it was brown in the middle.. my salmon was coated with sauce tht was not listed anywhere on my order detailed or shown on the menu options.. no big deal, I just figured I’d ask the manager to remake it.. when I told him he seemed frustrated and when I told him I couldn’t eat the salmon with sauce on it he had an attitude and said “R u serious” he did end up re making it. He told me he checked the steak himself and it was perfect, showed me 1 side and it looked ok.. I get to my car to eat it and it’s black on 1 side‍.. I could only eat part of it and I was way better off with first steak. The salmon was amazing though and the sides are always really good. I tried them a few other times and it’s different each time and its not very customer service friendly so I only go there when my options are limited. There is another manager that works there that has an accent and he is very nice and professional.. he seems to actually care if you like your food but u never know who your going to get. With all that being said I would say it is one of the better restaurants on that side of town. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"
