"We have been to Encore before the theater on previous occasions, and it 's very convenient, the service is generally good, and we 've enjoyed the food. This time, we decided to try the All You Can Eat Sushi special on Thursday night. There were a number of sushi rolls on the menu that sounded good, and we ordered an assortment. They arrived at the table promptly, some of them so promptly that it seemed like they must have been pre-made instead of being made-to-order. Each of the six rolls we ordered consisted of mainly rice, and not much of the other ingredients, and they all felt dried out, again suggesting that they had been made ahead. Pretty disappointing for a restaurant that emphasizes steak, seafood, and sushi. We 'll be back, but we 'll pass on the sushi."

"I was torn about how I wanted to rate my experiences here (2 stars vs 3 stars . While the food is genuinely good, and I believe decently priced, the service is what brings the review down. There is very obviously a crowd of people, with whom the wait staff refer to as regulars , who get specialized treatment (i.e. Getting to seat themselves where they want as opposed to everyone else having to wait to be seated, being served first regardless of what order tables were sat, etc. I understand wanting to show gratitude to your loyal customers, but you certainly can 't expect to gain any new regulars when you 're making the other patrons feel less important. I have been here a handful of times and it 's the same experience every trip with feeling second rate compared to the regulars . This past time we waited at our table for a good 15 minutes before someone even came over to offer us water and/or coffee, meanwhile those who got to come in and just seat themselves were being catered to immediately. Like I said, the food is genuinely good but the blatant favoritism leaves a bad taste in my mouth."

"An awesome neighborhood bar with a decor that blends New Mexico’s funky and artistic flavor with the requisite big TV screens for watching sports. The lunch menu had a large selection of burgers and sandwiches, including vegetarian choices. A good tap selection and a cocktail and wine menu. Excellent service. The outdoor seating area gives you a good view of the Sandias and while close enough to Central Ave. so you can enjoy its colorful character, it’s not right next to it and you can actually have a conversation over the sound of traffic."
