"2nd Visit. I usually do at least 2 visits to make sure what I observe the first time is consistent so my reviews hold up. Impressed. Siphon Coffee is everything a neighborhood coffee shop should be and I wish it were closer to my digs because the staff would warrant an invite to my Christmas morning. Coffee as good as it gets, vibe is welcome casual for all, staff on top of their game , and free parking (although packed even on a Sun a.m. ?!? Last visit 12/17- drink hot, extra shots, banana bread warmed, do you want our butter? (yes, plz and I didn’t even have to ask-they do the asking you get it your way here unlike the other ubiquitous coffee place which shall not be named. Make the effort and find your way to Siphon, no need to change what you want, who you are, this is the place to meet, work, drink some solid coffee settle for a pleasant experience. Sadly, I was enjoying myself so didn’t take any media, maybe tomorrow when I go back!"

"Please stop changing the menu, Maman! The bread for the sandwiches is really hard and crumbly, making it quite a mess to eat. The chicken salad isn't your strong suit either; it’s rather mediocre. The place still has a charming atmosphere, but the menu and the bread need some improvement. I also had a much cuter experience at other Maman locations compared to this one on 25th Street. This location is a bit smaller and louder, and they serve food in plain clear glasses and plastic cups instead of the adorable blue dishware. It just doesn’t live up to my initial experience."

"I was torn about how I wanted to rate my experiences here (2 stars vs 3 stars . While the food is genuinely good, and I believe decently priced, the service is what brings the review down. There is very obviously a crowd of people, with whom the wait staff refer to as regulars , who get specialized treatment (i.e. Getting to seat themselves where they want as opposed to everyone else having to wait to be seated, being served first regardless of what order tables were sat, etc. I understand wanting to show gratitude to your loyal customers, but you certainly can 't expect to gain any new regulars when you 're making the other patrons feel less important. I have been here a handful of times and it 's the same experience every trip with feeling second rate compared to the regulars . This past time we waited at our table for a good 15 minutes before someone even came over to offer us water and/or coffee, meanwhile those who got to come in and just seat themselves were being catered to immediately. Like I said, the food is genuinely good but the blatant favoritism leaves a bad taste in my mouth."

"Walked in. We were told immediately that there was a 5-10min wait. We put our names down for the next 2 person table. Another 2 person group was behind us and was told the same and they also placed their name in the list. Then about 3 minutes later another 2 person group showed up and stood at the hostess (hostess had walked away) a waiter came by and greeted the 2 people standing there had a friendly conversation then asked them if they knew where they were on the wait list. They said oh we didn 't know there was a wait. The waiter looked over to where we and the other group were sitting and said to them hold on. He came back in seconds and sat then at a table. So we walked out. They obviously don 't need new business."

"My husband and I used to love coming here; it was a go to date night experience with great drinks, food, and entertainment. We made a reservation for the speakeasy the Saturday after Valentine’s Day at 7pm; unfortunately, we had to push it back a week. We had never been to the speakeasy, so we were so excited to spend our late Valentines dinner in the speakeasy for the first time. When we got there, we were told that they didn’t have our reservations and there was a private event that had been scheduled for at least a month. They checked the previous Saturday to see if somebody forgot to move the reservation….they NEVER wrote our name down for a reservation in the first place. I immediately questioned if we made a mistake and called the wrong restaurant, but we confirmed we called the Lincoln House number on February 11 and 14th (11 to schedule; 14th to push it back a week). The owner was kind and offered us a table in the main dining room and comped our first round of drinks.The last two times we went to Lincoln house, my husband and I had been dying to try the brisket platter, but both times they ran out. Mistakes happen no big deal. We go to order the brisket platter again —— sold out. This is the third time in a row they were sold out. For a restaurant that has such a small menu at the price they are, I’d think they would assure they have said menu items. We’ve been getting more and more disappointed as we come here for dinner, and this experience was the straw that broke the camels back. It’s such a shame because we used to love this little date night spot."

"First time there, went for a light dinner. Apparently you order breakfast/lunch at the counter, but they have table service after 6pm for dinner. We walked in at 5:30, only one at the counter helping someone at the coffee bar so we grabbed menus and sat down. Two tables walked in after us, they were seated and served drinks. We weren't acknowledged for 20 minutes or so until a server asked if we knew to order at the counter. Fair enough, but why weren't we offered drinks like the other two tables? So a bit unorganized on the service, but no biggie. Food was great, chili looked popular so I had nachos. Black bean with sweet potato chili, very good but no kick to it. Server asked if I wanted jalapenos, I said yes but didn't get them. Fresh Salsa was good and a little rooster juice (Sriracha) fixed it right up. Better half had some carrot dahl soup that was excellent along with some flatbread. Would go there again and now that I know the proper way to order I won't starve."

"I rember when this place opened. On the 1990's .It is a great day time coffee shop. Has many items to eat fresh bakery goods with easy service. "The food at this restaurant was delicious with excellent flavors, but the portion sizes were small and the prices were high. I plan to go back, but not as often. My mother ordered a dish that we specifically asked if it was spicy, and the waitress assured us it was not. However, when the dish arrived, it had quite a kick to it. It seemed the waitress was mistaken about the level of spiciness. When we asked for a replacement dish that was not spicy, we encountered difficulties. My mother decided she wouldn't return, but personally, I enjoy the healthy and tasty food options available."

"My family of four dined at Fat Rabbit following How the Grinch Stole CHristmas at AT&T Performing Arts Center. I was happy to find a place close by, with a menu suitable for teens as well as adults and a fun drink menu. We were looking forward to a fun and festive holiday outing. Our table was set up and ready upon arrival and we were thankful given one teen had turned hangry. I ordered the Wild Hare to start and it was cold and sweet. I’m sad to say that our service was deplorable. Our waiter was apathetic, slow and not interested in offering a nice dining experience. We had to round up silverware from other set tables on our own, because out appetizer of fried cheese wedges was starting to chill and our waiter was nowhere to be found. The appetizer was good, even if we had no napkin with which to wipe our hands. At one point, out waiter had been missing in action for so long that we approached the hostess to ask her to find him. No drink refills and no meal order was taken for a good 25 minutes after dropping off the appetizer. Even knowing we were irritated, his pace did not pick up. My cheesy bacon grilled cheese was over-done and dry. My husbands pulled pork sandwich was such a mess he had to eat it with fork and knife. The kids did say their burgers were good. Basically, we spent $100 on grilled cheese and burgers with some of the worst service I can recall. It’s a shame, too, because the restaurant is cute and its in a great area. I will say, as we were headed out a neighboring table seemed to be enjoying much better service than we experienced."

"We stopped in while Shopping on Cherokee Street. Interesting menu. My wife had an omelet skillet which she said was quite spicy. I had the French Toast with apple compote. It was delicious but way too much. Should have opted for a half order. The pastries were delicious. I had iced oatmeal horchata to drink. Perhaps I misunderstood what I ordered, but it tasted like a strong mocha coffee, and I don't like coffee. Oh well, live and learn."

"Shared a pastrami sandwich and a bowl of French onion soup with my husband here. The pastrami sandwich was good, It was decently sized And had a well balanced ratio of meat, bread, and veggies. The roll that came with the French onion soup was rock hard, I had heard so many great things about the soup but unfortunately it was more cheese and crouton than actual soup. The soup itself seemed particularly salty. All in all I would still be willing to give this place another go for the French onion soup because of all the good things I've heard in the past. I will definitely return If the soup is not fantastic I'll just get something different Because the sandwich was quite lovely and the grapes that were served with it were very fresh."
