"Ok this is going to be 2 review's in one because I didn't want to make a assumption or a judgment off my first visit. First visit was kinda off key for two reasons so I wanted to go again. They had two birthdays and a wedding reception and some of the help didn't come in that night and also I drank a black widow a little to fast so all things considered I wanted to go a second time to try over. First trip I ordered beef tips, garlic mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. My wife ordered the meatloaf with gravy , potatoes and steamed broccoli. My beef tips where tough and over cooked and the potatoes had no taste of garlic but the tomatoes were very tasty. My wife's meatloaf was burnt on both sides but the gravy made it soft so it was decent. The potatoes were same as mine, but the steamed broccoli was quiet tough as is was boiled for a moment then put onto the plate. But the gentleman that was the waiter was great and answered my questions and was polite. But he was stretched thin that night. Was no as pleased as I thought I would have been for as many people suggested that I try the place. Twenty people that told be about could not be wrong so I just said I'll try it again. Last night I returned and I got the sirloin and garlic mashed potatoes, and fried green tomatoes again. My wife got the salmon and pasta. The steak was cooked perfect and the mashed potatoes were spot on with the taste of garlic and the tomatoes were excellent. My wife's fish was cooked perfect and pasta was tender. Our waitress was Ms. Violet and she was very attentive and came often to check to see if we needed refills or anything else. So yes very good place to eat. All the stars and the balance must have fell just right last time I came but it was much better the second time and I'm glad I came again."

"Many of our friends recommended coming here and they had been to Japan before. They raved how this was the best katsu they 've had outside of Japan. I have nothing to compare to since I 've never been to Japan and the only katsu I love in the Bay Area is from Demiya. I got lucky and called a week in advance to get dinner reservations at 5pm on a Tuesday. But I had to call 11 times to get through. Between me and my husband, we both ordered the 7.0oz Specialty Kurobuta Pork Loin Katsu set each $42) and the katsu sandwiches to share. The sandwiches were so good and a great appetizer while we waited for our entree. We did order a side of curry sauce $5) since one of our friends suggested it. I thought it was good because it was sweet compared to the crushed sesame seeds and katsu sauce, which was a bit tangy. My husband thought it was a little heavy but we were just dipping our katsu into the curry to eat. The actual specialty kurobota pork loin katsu was sooooo good. It was tender, juicy, and fatty which I loved! I don 't even like breaded meat in general but I could eat this all the time. It was the priciest set but so worth every bite. The side dishes are ayce so you can ask for more miso soup, rice, and salad. Of course we got more, which is why we were also so full at the end. If we didn 't order the beer, which was $1.30, our stomachs probably wouldn 't feel like it 's gonna burst. It was such a good deal that we couldn 't pass it up. But you could probably skip it. The service we recieved here from the ladies was phenomenal. They were so friendly, nice, and attentive. Our waters were getting refilled and we were asked multiple times if we needed any more side dishes. We definitely would come back and highly recommend anyone who loves katsu to give this place a try!"

"Chez Lévèque is located just in front of the very famous Léméac restaurant. While Léméac offers classic French cuisine intelligently reformulated up to date, Chez Lévèque offers classic French cuisine as we did 25 years ago. The prices are also lower, which means that a good second, Chez Lévèque succeeds in standing out and not suffering too much from the presence of its august neighbor. The waiters are dressed as if they were in a Parisian restaurant: impeccable white shirt , black jacket and red buckle. Coming back from the men's washroom, I am going to talk to the owner of the place who is sitting at the bar and who has just passed behind the bar. He's wearing a pretty wrinkled jacket that needs a pressing. I told him, in a low voice, so as not to be heard from the neighbors, that there is a strong smell of urine in the men's toilet and that it is hardly bearable. His answer seems quite surprising to me: The thing is possible! he said to me, which leaves me unanswered. Fortunately, the meal was very good and at a very good price if we stick to the table d'hôte and the specials offered by the house: mussels, snail, braised veal, mashed potatoes, chocolate fondant, excellent cream Tarragon ice cream accompanied by an excellent glass of St -Emilion. Next time I come back to Lévèque, I will go through the Léméac toilets!"

"I have many, often dimmed with my family, and they were far away from the last Labor Day Weekend. Usually we go as a big party 12 and the service meals are right. For so many people on a table, we usually support 2 servers. Instead, we had a server and she had 3 or 4 other tables. Drinks lasted 20 minutes, appetizers took about 1/2 hour to get out after the order. We had dirty plates on the table for about 25 minutes after finishing apps before I pulled the waitress to say something. They apologised and they cleaned and refreshed our waters. After about another 15 minutes and tables that sat after us, I got their checks, I went to the chef (scott) and complained what he said they were just plated. The food was very good, only a steak under boiled, but at that time it was hungry to send it back and ate the center. The thing that bothered me so much was that we were there to celebrate my births in law, the waitress remembered the cake when we came there and never got it. We also had two young girls at the table who were not served by a reservation until 9:45. For this kind of restaurant with this kind of prices, it had left us all dissapointed. We do not pay and have no great experience in the past, so we go there. It is hard to give them such a bad score, but for this experience they earn it unfortunately. My family and I go back, but next time they screw it up, we'll find somewhere else."
