"When we tried to ask the waitress questions about the menu and the mimosa bong, she seemed inattentive and rushed. We ordered drinks, including the mimosa bong and shots of Grey Goose. We noticed the bartender preparing the drinks, but they sat on the bar for some time. The waitress eventually brought over the shots but not the mimosa bong, repeatedly stating it would be ready shortly, even walking past the bar twice without picking it up. One of our group members went up to the bartender, who confirmed that the mimosa bong was indeed ours and personally delivered it to our table, as the waitress was nowhere to be found. Upon pouring our drinks, we discovered the mimosa bong was leaking. When we informed another staff member, he commented that we shouldn’t have to "deal with that on Mother’s Day" and promptly brought us a new one. The waitress returned and asked if we had received it, at which point we ordered our food. The meal was decent; we had pancakes, shrimp and grits, and an omelet, but we received everything except the omelet about five minutes earlier. The waitress then disappeared, and we had to ask other staff for water, napkins, and utensils. The bathrooms were in poor condition, lacking soap and cleanliness, with urine on the floors. When we settled our bill, which exceeded $100, the man who replaced the mimosa bong remarked, “Make sure you tip my waitress well.” After paying, we left what we believed was a fair tip for the service we received. However, as we were getting into our car, that same man approached us outside the restaurant asking about the tip. We inquired if there was an issue and explained our dissatisfaction with the service. He seemed visibly upset and stood outside as if to intimidate us, making the encounter uncomfortable and feeling somewhat harassed. I recommend Cafe Ole addresses issues concerning service, cleanliness, and professionalism. We visited from out of town and hoped for a pleasant Mother's Day brunch without a long wait, but our experience at Cafe Ole was disappointing. Consequently, we will not return and cannot recommend this restaurant. I do hope this review encourages improvements from the staff. On a positive note, their brunch menu does offer some good vegetarian options, including pancakes, eggs, and potato hash."
